The scientists behind the world's biggest-ever scientific experiment have received death threats from critics who claim it could cause the end of the world. Experts are attempting to recreate the forces that occurred in the immediate aftermath of the Big Bang, which created the universe. To accomplish this feat, the Large Hadron Collider, located in Geneva, Switzerland, will be switched on this Wednesday. Professor Brian Cox of Manchester University (who also played keyboards on the 1997 UK hit single "Things Can Only Get Better") is among those who have received the threats. He was quick to dismiss the public's fears about the LHC. "Anyone who thinks the LHC will destroy the world is a t---." To hear this ex-rock-star and British brainbox talk discuss the LHC in greater detail, check out the video below.
