In a sharp attack on the Republican presidential ticket Monday, Gov. Ed Rendell said Arizona Sen. John McCain and other Republicans are lying about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama’s plan to cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans as president.

His plan unless changed very recently was to lower taxes for the lower 80% not 95%.
I hope the governors and other Democrats keep up bashing Palin on everything. Bash her religion. Bash her family. Just keep on bashing her. The white women's vote has had a 20% swing towards her and the religious right who might have stayed home are now deciding to vote. Keep on going liberals. The nastier the better. You are having an effect on the voting population. You are pushing them to the right. Way to go. Keep up the good work. -

Comrades Bush, Paulson and Bernanke Welcome You to the USSRA (United Socialist State Republic of America)
Socialism is indeed alive and well in America; but this is socialism for the rich, the well connected and Wall Street. A socialism where profits are privatized and losses are socialized with the US tax-payer being charged the bill of $300 billion.

This is so funny...Propeller is all in a PANIC over Palin and McCain. The Demorats are obviously extremely worried ever since McCain chose Palin as his running mate. I've NEVER seen such panic from the Demorats before. I come here 4 or 5 times a day to check out the Demorat panic. Every time I come here to read, I see that the majority of the front page stories are negative/ trashing stories about Palin and McCain. My question is this.
Reply
Where are the negative trashing stories about Osama and the Demorats....where are those stories?
I've tried submitting negative stories about Osama and the dems, but propeller won't allow me to submit them. Propeller always says that the negative Osama Dem stories I try to post are already posted. Funny thing is, I never see those stories anywhere here!? This place is so one sided, like most all media is...They are in the tank for Osama and on the hunt to destroy McCain and Palin. The funny part is, it's hurting them more then it's doing good for the Demorats. That's right, "DEMORATS" fits you people very very well. You're all a bunch of dirty rotten, stinkin' RATS. Just look at all the crap you're spewing about Palin. Most all of it is made up lies. The remainder of it is insignificant BS. NO ONE CARES except you demorats!
It's like this...someone in the Dem camp will make up some BS about Palin. They post it, then all the little demmies run with it. Have you Dolts ever heard of (FACTS, TRUTHS & PROOF) I don't think you have any clue what so ever... -

!They are going broke now Lucky, remember when the DEMS gave you the country 7+ years ago all these things were solvent and our x country had a surplus...This idea to privatize SS is just another ploy to by the rich to get their hands on the American peoples money. The only one getting pain in that idea are the investment bankers who will use the money to invest get a 1000% profit and offer 5% dividends at the end of the year it will move retirement to 85 years.

Here's my favorite lie:
"Senator Obama wants to raise taxes on small business owners that make over $250,000 a year."
It's trash and it's a blatant LIE!!! Senator Obama's tax plan will raise the INCOME tax on ANYONE that makes over $250,000 a year. That is, any individual who makes over $250,000 will pay more in taxes. Corporate taxes (including those on S corporations) are NOT included in this.
It's a LIE people, don't believe it. Most of the people telling you that you are going to get screwed under the Obama plan make WAAAAYYYY more than $250,000 per year. Do you think Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly want higher taxes on their multi-million dollar wages? They don't care that it's good for the country they care about what's best for THEM.-

In keeping with Obama's interest in accuracy, I have to note that individuals making over $200,000 will pay more. It's $250,000 for couples. However, McCain believes those making less than $5 million a year are middle class, which must be why he thinks continuing the Bush tax cuts for 5% of the richest people in the country is good for the rest of us.

S corporations do not pay icome tax -- their profits or losses get passed on through to the owners personal income and is taxed that way. That is the point of being an S corp.
Reply
So, if you have a profitable S corp, EVEN IF YOU PLOUGH MOST OF THE PROFIT BACK INTO THE COMPANY, as most small business owners do, you pay the tax on the profit.
If you believe that we will get universal health care and our personal income taxes will not substantially (even if we call it something different), I have a bridge I would like to sell you.
I don't make anywhere NEAR $250k per year. -

Trickle trickle. It all flows down hill.
And who is on the bottom of that hill?
The money generated from Obama's plan will not even come close to paying for his socialist program.
He is not telling us the entire plan in fear of losing votes.

If you read the story headlines at Propaller, one would think this discussion group is only for bashing Republicans. Right now there are about 5 or 6 front page stories about Palin and McCain. Of course, all of the stories are BASHING them...my question is this...

Why are there NEVER any stories here that bash the Dems and Obama? I'm trying to remember if I have ever seen a dem bashing story here at Propeller. Has anyone here seen such a story?
Oh never mind, I get it. The Dems/Obama have no reason to be bashed, they are PERFECT in every way...This place really sucks!-

There are articles basing the Dems. It's just every day, the Republicans make themselves look like complete and utter fools, so there is much more to bash. Just look at the bang up job Republicans have done in running the country for the last 8 years and you'll understand why the bashing takes place.

Tiredofwhiners...You must be Phil Gramm, the man largely responsible for the current mortgage problems. The "economic adviser" of McSame.
Reply
Gramm was one of five co-sponsors of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000. One provision of the bill was referred to as the "Enron loophole" because the House Agriculture Committee drafted it and it was later applied to Enron. Some critics blame the provision for permitting the Enron scandal to occur. At the time, Gramm's wife was previously on Enron's board of directors.
Later in his Senate career, Gramm spearheaded efforts to pass banking reform laws, including the landmark Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999, which served to reduce government regulations in existence since the Great Depression separating banking, insurance and brokerage activities.
Years later, critics of Gramm point out that this same legislation may have been pivotal in encouraging the corporate practices that led to the 2008 mortgage crises in America.[5]
Between 1995 and 2000 Gramm, who was the chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, received $1,000,914 in campaign contributions from the Securities & Investment industry.
Later, as lobbyist for Swiss bank UBS, Gramm pressured congress ease it's restrictions on predatory lending tactics by mortgage brokers. For his efforts, Gramm received $750,000 from UBS in during a one year period starting in 2007.
n a July 9, 2008 interview explaining McCain's plans in reforming the U.S. economy, Gramm downplayed the idea that the nation was in a recession, stating, "You've heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession," and "We have sort of become a nation of whiners, you just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline."

What a bunch of garbage.
What she did was to remove the tax on the gross income and tax the net income. To accomplish that she raised the % so the amount of tax would be about the same. What this does it to give the oil companies incentive to do research and look for more oil. That comes in as expenses so they are not taxed on those things.
Something that liberals just don't understand do you. People and companies modify their behavior by the way that money is given to or taken from them. Poor libs. Keep the lies coming. Bash, bash, and bash some more. The more lies the better. Make that point spread get bigger and bigger. -

she broke up a sweetheart deal that the previous administration had made with the oil companies. when it went out for bid, those same oil companies had no problem competing.
i mean, you dems are all for competitive contracting, right?
is this the same as raising the taxes on the oil companies?
who knows if she agrees with O on 'this.' i'd say not because extraction fees are also granted to the offshore oil states, like LA, AL, MS and TX.
windfall taxes are just a way for teh Gov't to plunder a company.
the thing i don't get is who do you think will pay those taxes, because, as i'm sure you well know, the taxes just get passed onto the consumer.
windfall profits taxes are grossly diseconomic.

The difference is that they are doing it purposefully to mislead you "stupid CONS." They know the trick works. Dems are just calling them on the lies they are making.

Uncle Ed was fairly competant as a Mayor of Philly (the last good one - the city has gone to hell in a hand basket since he left) but as Gov. is has catered and pandered like most Demos that make it to the national scene. Now all that is left of the great Ed Rendell from Philly is a mouth piece to be used by the messiah to do his dirty work.

You all have it backwards about taxes. The gov't takes in more than enough to do business(tickets /fines/sales tax /property tax/payroll and the list goes on .It's how it's spent that is at issue. For instance in my town they paid a half million dollars to plant Magnolia trees downtown and all died in less than a year. They want to build a bike and walking trail 13 miles along old railroad at a cost of 15million.When schools rebuild they build a sprawling campus instead of a taller building and then have to hire more people to cut the grass and patrol the gronds and then they fence it in.These extra costs and lack of thinking of them is the problem. At the same time they have cut teachers and staff back by 60 million so the rich could have a tax break on their multi million dollar homes on the water. And i don't want to get started on the stadium to lure the RED SOX here 3 mos a year. The problem is lack of oversight and accountability by us for letting them get away with it.If the gov't was a private business it would be bankrupt not because they didn't have enough money , but because they wasted the funds they had knowing they could always ask for more and take it if need be.We're taught not to live above our means, shouldn't the gov't do the same?Try this save every bill, shopping receipts, bank savings.property taxes statements, investment statements and all other tax related items both state and federal for a year and you'll see just how much you really get to keep out of every dollar

Wasilla didn't have a sewage treatment plant. So the mayor tried to build a sports complex. She left the town $22 million in debt. And Wasilla still doesn't have a sewage treatment plant.
She also cut funding to the Wasilla high school, causing it to lay off teachers and cut back on curriculum.
But she did give every Alaskan $1,200 after hitting up big oil for more taxes.

The dems/libs favorite word "lie". If you disagree with them it's lying. Lie this lie that, not ever wrong or incorrect, just lies. Everyone is getting sick of it. Keep it up, the more of this inane attack dog mentality, the further Obama sinks in the polls.

Re taxes: He said "I will cut taxes for 95% of Americans". Smoke and mirrors rhetoric. Which taxes? Income tax? Will he lower all the other taxes which account for the majority of all federal receipts? Check your phone bill sometime. Or how much gas tax you pay each year. Business, corporate, death, capital gains, interest taxes and on and on. If you make phone calls, have cable, utilities, have a business, invest in mutual funds, have an IRA or 401K savings, and on and on , you pay all these taxes. Does anyone believe that a corporation doesn't pass on the taxes they pay to the consumer? My theory is tax less and let the feds figure out how to spend less or borrow so much they won't be able to anymore. -

Palin in an interview of “HER“ local TV station” came right out and said in June '08, "What exactly does a VP do?" She then says she wants to make sure the VP position is fruitful for Alaska. Go to YouTube and watch her interview: Gov. Sarah Palin on the Wooten scandal and VP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pak-rH0dCeA
This is playing out like a movie on Life Time TV movie, personally I want to hear more about substance than voting for a female organ. Compares herself to Hillary Clinton hitting the glass ceiling, hey if she can't break it she can shoot it out, right?
Seriously, “What’s the word for “A last minute VP choice that brings energy to an otherwise dull campaign: "McToken"-- POLL Dancer"-- " Hallelu-cination"-- "Palinthetic" -- "Snow Job"-- "Readmylipstick"--" Leap-To-Faith-as Qualification"-- "Spinittowinitsarah"--" Desperomccaino"--"Palagra"--happy to help promote her LOL!
Check out her education and her qualifications. Heck yeah she had to give up her jet, chef, and driver, she cost the state of Alaska a lot of money for an interrogation of her personal practices. She boasts she is not a Washington DC elitist but Mc Cain has been at the top of the "good ole boys club" for over 30 years, nice buffer! Be educated about your vote, research her for yourself instead of being lead down the sugar-coated road by the media. EDUCATION IS POWER, don't just sit and be hand fed her laurels, read, research her, see her policies made in Alaska, then decide. -
