This is pretty disturbing, like the $125k a year she makes isn't enough already? she felt she had the right to charge tax payers for her to stay in her own house for more than half the days she has been in office?

Good going Aidenag. Keep the anti Palin stories coming. Bash her harder. Bash her religion and family. Bash everything she does. Keep the polls shifting toward the right. White women have shifted 20% and the religious right many of whom were thinking of staying home are now energized to vote. Way to go libs. Keep up the good work. Rant a lot and tell all your friends and neighbors.

Question. Where does the governor of a state live? Last I heard it was the capitol of the state. That is Juno. So she was visiting Wasilla away from the official home of the governor. Terrible that she should be on expenses when away from where she lives. But rant on some more. Keep the pressure going. The polls will slide some more away from poor little Barry.-

Hold on buckshot. We've been hearing hope and change but I've not seen the actual solution. It's one thing to make claims and have your media flunkies follow you around like you're the next messiah but I'd like to see his plan. He's been out there for the last 6 months talking about, well hope and change. Neither are a road map nor a destination. We need substance. He talks about working with all peoples but it's clear he's never crossed the isle ever. In the state house he had problems with simple yes and no ballots, voting present over 130 times. In the Senate he hasn't authored a single bill that I could find but did manage to sell some books along with the hope and change speeches. You guys rip on Sarah and John for bringing home the federal money, Barry's districts are some of the poorest and least represented when it comes to the feds and funding. So what has Barry been doing while in office? Hope & change? Yea right.

Name your favorite politician, then ask the same of them. What had they done before they were elected.
Reply
Is your favorite Ike? I could have fun with that.
Is your favorite Reagan?
Raised property taxes in Calif. to the point that thousands of people on fixed incomes lost their homes. Then went on to brag about what a good job he did.
Is your favorite Nixon? Are you aware he got into politics when he was a used car salesman?
That's right!
The point is, all of em have skeletons in their closet. But Obama has not been in office long enough to really screw things up. He hasn't been around long enough to have much history pro or con.
THAT'S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT HIM!-

You rip on Reagan. He's dead so it's pretty easy for the left to hide a lot of the problems he had when he came to office. First, their budget was as bad as it is today. When you have social programs out of control and you're giving more rights to illegal aliens than your own people, someone has to pay that bill. You want to give everything away, then you should have to pay for them. That means higher taxes.
Reply
Nixon? A little before my time but I will say this. In the last 40 years, he was the only president that had an energy plan that would have helped.
I always like Ford and thought he got a raw deal. Had he had another 30 days, Carter would have lost that election. It's another example of the media selecting a candidate.
So the reason you're voting for Obama is his lack of knowledge and experience. With a Russia heading for a new Cold war, they're putting troops in Venezuala this month by the way and they're just about done building a nuclear plant for Iran, you want someone with no clue how to actually handle them. He's facing a former KGB officer who thinks he's the new Czar. He's financed by oil. The stuff your guy won't let us drill. Yea, I can see you thought this out clearly between your shift at Starbucks.-

Reagan gave us Reaganomics (which we are experiencing the revisiting of right now).

Nixon lifted the price fixes that screwed the rest of the 70's, of course you blame Carter for that, for some unknown reason.

Interesting, you say Reagan inherited all the troubles from Carter, but that Carter, who inherited his troubles from Ford & Nixon never should have won in the first place.

Interesting.
And for me, the reason I am voting for Obama is healthcare, taxes, and international diplomacy. McCain has the best socialized medical care in the world and he doesn`t want to share with you or me. McCain wants to continue Bush`s transfer of wealth from the working class to the trust fund class. McCain also has an infamous temper and the strategic depth of an elementary school child playing hopscotch. He is reckless and cannot be trusted. And Palin is just as bad, but with lipstick and without the alzheimers and McCain`s very limited experience.

If she chooses not to live in the governor's mansion in Juneau (not Juno) then she should relinquish the right for per-diem pay except when of official business in other areas. 312 days of per-diem is outrageous. What would be more reasonable would be to accept per-diem when she is away from Wasilla which she obviously considers her home.

Actually most governors maintain their own homes because they don't consider being governor a life long career as senators and congressmen do. The reason some of those costs are higher than let say Rhode Island and their capital, Providence. In Alaska, the governor's home is over 600 miles away. That's a long way home. Also, there are guide lines which she followed and according to a press release from the McCain camp, she didn't use all of her rightful reimbursements that she's entitled to.

IT's clearly fraud to charge for nights spent in your own home. It's not an expense to stay in your own home. How is that an expense?

If an employee did this at a company they would be fired.
Oh, I get it, instead of spending money on a jet, Sarah decided to spend it on herself. IF she had a jet, it would be public accounting, but she wanted the discretion of private accounting to just make stuff up.-

The state legislators are in session for 60 days. Every governor before her spent this remainder of time at their home of choosing & was compensated for it. Juneau is landlocked, for the radicals hee knocking Palin that means the only way in or out of Juneau is by sea or air, very few legislators spend all their time there would you?

The problem is not whether it's legal or not but whether it's ethical or not. It's clearly not ethical to accept per-diem when it is clearly intended to compensate one when they must be away from their home on business. Republicans seem to have difficulty recognizing ethical questions.

Barry is clearly a rubber stamp with 2 convicted felons and a racist for friends. On jobs, he was a community something or other. I think they said he was a trainer for Acorn. Is he part of the federal indictments in Milwaukee and Chicago? Seems during the training when they were copying death certificates for voter registries no one bothered to tell them not to file them all in alphabetical order. That plus when my father who has been dead since 1986 kept appearing on re-registering as a Democrat I was a little worried. He was a life member of the GOP and trust me, if he did come back, would never register as a dem. Long story short, we have about 40 people in Wisconsin going to trial soon. Too bad there isn't enough time to review all of the voting records.-

Talking Wisconsin, seems our governor is under investigation again. He had a state employee write his speech for the DNC convention on the the tax payer's dime. Once again Diamond Jim Doyle, the Indian Casino's best friend is in trouble once again. Only this time the Attorney general isn't one of his former minions. The DNC Speaker of the Wisconsin Senate recently was released for the same thing. Should be interesting.

Compare that to Exxon John, or even Hack & Sack Sarah! He never earned a non-taxpayer dollar in his life. And after getting out of the Navy, he never earned an honest dollar in his life.
And Sarah? She got into politics as part of Ted "Bridge to Nowhere" Stevens political PAC. He brought her up in the backwaters of slime and corruption. Any wonder she steals from the taxpayers of Alaska? Any wonder that she would do the same if elected VP?
Budget has nothing to do with Sarah`s stealing. If I have a budget and use it illegally like she did, I would be arrested and at least fired.

SOMEONE WHO IS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR ABUSE OF POWER HAS NO BUSINESS BEING A VP CANDIDATE. MCCAIN IS COO-COO for picking Palin. Her record is proving to be not only questionable but very disturbing. Her character is definitely a disqualification for her to be president because she's holding herself out to be one thing but her record is showing just the opposite. It only compounds the issue when she and Mccain refuses to have interviews with the media. I don't think that they should get any free media coverage until she do so. Stop covering her because she isn't the person she claims to be and the media is helping the Mccain/Palin campaign create an image that isn't true.

The issue in question is the one named "Troopergate" which is an open investigation into Palin's abuse of the powers of her office as Governor of Alaska to attempt to get her ex-brother in law, Mike Wooten fired. She is very much under investigation for this and it is simply untrue to say that she is not.
Reply
You can, of course, claim that the brother in law was a jerk, and that he did horrible things, but the fact is that the Palin family brought a list of fourteen charges up against him during a court custody battle that had turned nasty, five of which were found to be supportable and the brother in law was suspended for ten days which was reduced to five after a union complaint.
Governor Palin then began to put pressure on Wooten's boss, Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan to fire Wooten. Monegan refused and claims that his refusal was the main reason Palin fired him. She denied this but Monegan has reported Governor Palin bringing the subject up with him on two occasions, her husband talking to him and three top officials speaking with him as well. He has also produced e-mails from Governor Palin which are part of this ongoing investigation.
The question is no longer whether Wooten did anything wrong, nor is it how you or I or Governor Palin feels about his punishment. He was punished. In a society based on the rule of law we abide by punishments passed down, we do not seek ways to extend or mitigate punishments based on our personal feelings. The governor of any state is not a dictator, and despite how they may feel about a particular person they do not get to choose whether that person's punishment is not strict enough. Nor should you wish for a governor to have this power.
Palin is not Wooten's boss, for if she were he would undoubtedly be fired already. She was Walt Monegan's boss, however, and when he advised her that to pursue this particular course of action would have the look of impropriety she really should have listened.

It's still cheaper for Alaskans to give her travel to be at home in Wasilla when the capital is Juneau. Quite a distance from Wasilla. Give her a break, let her be at home with her family. Alaskans aren't complaining. Maybe she's worth it. I doubt she could afford the cost of the trips back and forth. Let's hope they don't elect a governor from Nome.

Last time I did that was when George Wallace ran for President in the late 1960's. I shook his hand but voted for someone else. This time I vote for her (and McCain). The way this woman is being protected is so insulting to the Hillary voters. The GOP (apparently lead by Karl Rover election success tactics) were all fiercely behind "W" when the pre-emptive strike in Iraq was initiated and even in 2004 election. Now he couldn't get arrested in Washington or anywhere. Bush and Chaney, the GOP's golden boys weren't even at the Republican Convention this year, unheard of for a sitting president to skip his own party's convention. Just goes to show you how far someone can fall; all these "stories" about Sarah Palin will eventually add up to something, then she will be shunned like Bush. And for McCain to think that disgruntled Hillary supporters would jump on his bandwagon, just because he selected a woman, who happens to represent everything Hillary is against.......he really underestimates the intelligence of her base. And also the way the GOP treated Bill and Hillary when he was in office; now Sarah nobody comes to center stage, and Republicans go "ga-ga" over this woman, who has not "paid her dues" in politics or government period, it's just appalling, hypocritical, and insulting. This just reeks of desperation for McCain. He is a war hero, and that is what he should stay. Let's honor his military service and sacrifice, but that does not render him Presidential. He may be from the "right" side of the political spectrum, but his judgement is clearly out of "left field".

What makes Obama presidential material? The fact that he has only spent 144 days or so as a Senator. Everyone is out to question Palins credentials but no one has even dared to ask Obama what makes him qualified. And as for Hillary's base, they are more likely to vote McCain/Palin then Obama/Biden, because they feel like they were sold out. Hillary received the popular vote, but the Dems wanted this no name from Chicago and they are paying for it right now.
