Sad when someone sells out for so little. This guy would be a perfect fit for the Bush military.

Yes indeed. Bush had the tendency to fire generals that disagreed with him while promoting those that agreed with him no matter the military consequences.

      More of the SAME!

Bush is a typical elitist mentality. He came from German heritage and the family thinks they are better than most people by the "genes."

Remember when Babs said those people were better off in the astrodome than in their own homes?

With a mother like that who has no decency or sense of morality, mixed with an absolute sense of privilege and zero accountability, how could Bush end up any different?

McCain is another one just like Bush. Arrogant with an underlying sense of entitlement so thick he dumped his wife and mother of three for the $ and power that came with it.

        Reminds me of Petreaus.

The general who wrote an unprecedented politically biased and untrue op-ed during time of war. That never happened before in our history that a general would be so politically biased and so dishonest publicly to influence an election in 2004.

His reward, promotion by Bush, naturally.

The problem in the military is that once you get above Colonel, it is completely political who gets promoted. The Republicans have shown the politically ambitious in the armed forces exactly what they need to do to get promoted; suck up to Republicans politically during election years. Sad.

          Remember Shinseki?

He said we couldn't make the Iraq war work out with 100k troops. I orgot what he wanted, maybe 300k. He got canned because that wasn't what Dubya and Rumsfeld wanted to hear.

I heard about this tonight on a news show and cringed. How completely disrespectful to those men and women in the Guard who have worked hard to EARN their promotions...to have this happen is like a blatant slap in the face. Although, if what the blogger stated is true, that only federal level promotions count, it may prove as a career-ender for the man who accepted this "promotion" because of the loss of respect he'll likely suffer as a result. I can't imagine any REAL officer or subordinate giving this man any real respect after going along with such a farce as this. Time will tell on that one though, I guess.

Just one more nail in the coffin.....at this rate, she's going to be all nailed up and ready for burial long before Joe Biden even has a CHANCE to kill her on the debate floor.

Is this an example of Palin's sterling leadership qualities? Open pandering to weak people for support? I wonder how many pounds of "medals" this REMF has on his chest?

"General Campbell's promotion will be a 'state' promotion," he said. "He will be a three-star general only while on State business. In a very rank-conscious environment, this distinction will not be lost on the other Flag Officers. He will look the part of a three-star general but will not be regarded as one by the very people he needs to work with and influence."

"No one can be promoted to the top ranks because of perceived leadership deficiencies but even with his obvious leadership flaws, he has no reluctance whatsoever to accept a cosmetic promotion," he added. "I believe the Governor's office will receive substantial correspondence urging her to reconsider this insult to the men and women of the Alaska National Guard."

Sarah Palin and her band of merry thieves outrage me. She has no control over her Alaska Guard Generals mainly Campbell. He is definitely what is known as an armychair General. He has NEVER been in war and yet retaliates against certain Guardsmen who serve 2 or more tours in Afghanistan. He is a politician first and foremost and wouldn't know what to do on a battlefield but hide. I am outraged that the National Guard Bureau in D.C. hasn't done something about his ethics. His cronyism is transparent particularly when a Guardsman gets promoted who impregnated a Sergean't wife and she gets an abortion. There is more but it has all been covered up.

This is not a credible news source. It's one of the soros slam type pieces magically appearing. It's too bad that the mainstream nuts have forgotten McCain will be the candidate this time around. It's even worse that the left doesn't know how to handle Sarah. Worst of all, it's clear the Obamanites can't tell us why we should vote for him. All they seem to be doing is tossing a lot of mud at Palin and there really isn't much sticking. Why? Most of the stories are fake and the only are telling 1/2 the story. Big surprise when you have an empty suit running against a someone you called a pig with lipstick. I do think it's funny that the first female President will be a conservative Republican.

We have been telling you why a vote for Obama is good. He will work with members of both parties to get things done. He see things from more than one side of an argument. He isn't owned by the large corporate interests. He will work to get us out of Iraq. He will work to bring our budget under control. He will work to improve things for Americans like health care and education. We should be building schools here, not Iraq.

The Republican party has taken the page from the Nazi party. Not so strange since Brown Brothers Harriman used to support the Nazi's by fueling their rise to power financial.

They make up stuff, lie, generally keep pushing to Poland until someone pushes back. This time it's the American people.

With Karl Rove acting as Goebbels (now at Fox as a unbiased commentator-yeh right!) it is becoming easier to laugh at the Nazis.

yep I see the peanut gallery is over full on this. President Bush is THE commander in chief and is the top dog of the military. there for the top brass in armed forcesare suppose to support his points of view in the public. The constitution does not give the congress any power over the military, the one power that congress has they wont even excersise and that being the ability to declare war. It is the presidents right to fire top generals. Clinton fired generals constantly who disagreed with him so its not that uncommon, every president has done that.

This isn`t another one of those right-wing fairy tales, is it? I mean, please tell me there is at least a morsel of truth to this one. It`s been so long since we`ve heard a rw smear with any credibility, I`m actually hoping this one is a tiny bit true. But I highly doubt it. It looks and smells like just another wingnut talking head generalization made up off the top of their heads and then repeated over and over ad nauseum by the kool-aid crowd til some people actually start believing their own BS.
