It defies all logic to imagine that raising taxes on oil companies while restricting their drilling will bring down the price of oil.

Then he tells us to put air in our tires? He's coming off lately as a bit clueless.

I'm a moderate and have voted for Democrats and Republicans, but I'm finding myself forced by logic to go with McCain this time around.

    Because the current admin's policies of lowering taxes for the rich and borrowing trillions to finance the war that they told us would pay for itself, has put us in deep doodoo debt to the Chinese. Wait until they decide to call THAT debt!

      According to the statistics from the IRS, the rich pay more of the taxes now than they did under Clinton.
      
      I KNOW that's not the liberal talking points, but it is true.

        So is that the percentage of assessed taxes that are actually paid? It's certainly not a percentage of overall tax revenew. What are these percentages of?

        It is a breakdown showing the source (by income group) of all revenue received by the IRS as income tax.
        
        Of all income taxes received by the IRS, 2.99% of the money comes from the lower 50% of wage earners.
