The statement by Dr Howard Falcon-Lang "These are the largest fossil forests found anywhere in the world at any point in geological time," is incorrect.

The largest, oldest fossilized trees were discovered in 2007 in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Some were as large as a mile in diameter and proportional in height. See them at:
