Wife number 25 brings contentment »
Posted By JamesMarcus 1 year, 2 months ago in NewsAfter 24 failed marriages, a 49-year-old porter in eastern Nepal says that he has finally found happiness in his latest union. The simple reason is that the landless laborer's latest marriage seems to be working out, unlike the previous ones.
Ramchandra Katuwal, of Khandbari municipality in Sankhuwasava, and his wife Sharada recently celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary. And for Mr Katuwal, the journey to conjugal bliss was paved with pitfalls and potholes. He first got married at age 26. From then onwards his life veered from one disastrous marriage to another. His first wife set a precedent followed by many of her successors: she eloped with her lover. "My second wife also ran away," he said, "and the third one too." From the succession of wives who came and went over a 16-year period, Mr Katuwal says that he can only remember nine of them clearly. But 25 seems to have been his lucky number.

They say that, if a marriage fails, both parties are to blame, but if you have had 13 or 26 marriages, you are the common denominator...YOU are the the weakest link! The man with 26 wives just finally found someone young and naive enough to get trapped with children in his BULL......

I had an aunt who was married 15 times, only 13 of them legit. The other 2 times one or both of the parties was still married to someone else. Once she and her new husband returned from the honeymoon separately, once each of them discovered that the other had no money!

SOUNDS SUSPICIOUS TO ME---SO MANY WIFES "RUNNING AWAY"----OH REALLY ? DID THEY ALL REALLY RUN OFF WITH SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE HE WAS ABUSIVE OR DID HE REALLY KILL THEM OFF AND THEN FINALLY REALIZED THAT HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO QUIT DOING THAT OR OTHERWISE BE ALONE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE? 25 MISSING BRIDES IN 16 YEARS --- YA GOTTA WONDER, DON'T YA??!!

I dated my husband from June 16, 1978 until we married on October 21 1978. We're still married!!! My brother in law is on marriage number 4, my sister in law is on marriage number 2. I got lucky. There have been thousands of reasons to give up... but thankfully there have been millions of reasons to try again.

Wow! I am only a year older than the guy in the story and hubby and I have been only married ONCE. My husband and I met in high school and have been together for 33 years and married for over 30! We are each other's best friend still.

My hubby and I have been married 22 years this Dec - after only knowing each other for 6 weeks before we got married. My Grandmother was married 14 times in her 66 years of life - two of the marriages we did not know about until after her death. Two of the husbands she married-divorced and then remarried after another failed marriage. Her last marriage lasted over 20 years. This woman was a hoot!
