The insensitivity and boorish behavior is in the interpretation of an event that should have been forgotten. The hate spued by the same right wing extremists on Propeller is what is most boring and pathetic; their handicap is greater than the parapalegic's disability.

I won't vote on a story like this and my one comment is more than I should contribute. -

I propped this article (and will continue to comment) just to show that even an honest mistake can be taken by people with hatred in their hearts and turn it into something vicious.

Senator Biden meant nothing by it and if you'll notice his body language was mortified. He did what he could to make up for it. It's funny, because this kind of thing happens to politicians all the time. It's not funny because the usual suspects will make it out to be more than it is.
By the way, everyone was sitting at the time and Senator Biden may not have been able to tell that the guy was in a wheelchair. Those with disabilities generally want to be treated the same as everyone else. Senator Biden did that, looking at him like a person and not a person in a wheelchair. Then he realized his error and corrected it.-

You asked me to vote for this story and comment. So I will do my best. First, let me say that the story is pathetic. In spite of that fact, I voted out of friendship, maybe i ought to reconsider these gestures in the future. The alarming fact in all of these smear stories is that they mean nothing and something. By that i mean, to a person like me that knows a great deal about the issues this is just spiteful retaliation for the bashing that Palin is receiving. To a lot of the less informed, this story alone may help them make their decision in the voting booth.I know that the actions of the Vice President aren't that critical in the case for the Democrats, but extremely critical in the Republican case. Not that i condone the bashing going on in the blogosphere on either side, but McCain is elderly and is at an age where he is hovering around the average life expectancy for similar males in his group. He may live another 20 years or he may die in a few weeks or months. This brings into question his decision to put one that has the political views and experience into the office of Vice President. As with President Bush, he made up for his lack of foreign policy experience with vetting **** Cheney. Obama used Biden to compliment his lack of credentials. The pick of Sarah Palin wasn't done with those type of sound decisive tools. It was done only as a ploy to get more votes. It had nothing to do with possibly adding any more experience to the ticket. It was strictly a political decision. If McCain really wanted to be a maverick he should have selected a vice president that could shore up the weaknesses he has in areas like economics, or social concerns. Biden is a career politician. He knows the game and knows how it is played. His experience will be invaluable to the young Senator from illinois. I can't really see what Palin will really bring, but votes.

Jovial - I have to question ANY person's judgement who supports Obama. Palin stood up to corrupt politicans and won. Obama proudly endorsed them. Obama has NOT one shred of evidence to suggest he has that kind of courage. Daley, Stoger,Kilpatrick, and State Treasurer ALL whom Obama endorsed are either under indictment or in jail. He voted "present" over 130 times so no one could debate his voting record. Just what we need - a Machivellian opportunist who stands for NOTHING. Words are cheap - my loud mouthed uncle talks about change all the time - blow-hards both. I am a lifelong Democrat - but I gotta tell ya - you can't cram this empty suit with a pathetic political history down our throats and then yell "Roe vs Wade" Ain't gonna work. "By their deeds shall ye know them"

Dang! I thought this was about Joes excellent Afghan adventure tween the gates of hell.

Well that’s how he told it the other night at a fundraiser.
Joe Biden, Starring in “Afghanistan Terrror at Two Thousand Feet”
Afghanistan
Here's how Joe Biden describes the encounter he calls Cloud-Pirates of Khandahar: Sky-Warriors of the Golden Triangle.
"What I care about is: What in God's name is she going to do — along with John McCain — about the thousands of people who don't have health care?" Biden asked. He'll ask her about "The superhighway of terror between Pakistan and Afghanistan where my helicopter was forced down...John McCain wants to know where Bin Ladin and the gates of Hell are? I can tell him where. That's where Al Quaida is. That's where Bin Ladin is. It's not in the country of Iraq."
Joe Biden
Dang! He left out the snipers!
What really happened?
CNN says a Kerry spokesman has told the network that the helicopter landed because of impending bad weather, that none of the three are hurt -- and that all three now are out of Afghanistan.
Update at 3:43 p.m. ET: A Biden spokesperson also is characterizing the landing to CNN as more of an "unscheduled," instead of "emergency," event because of unexpected bad weather.
Same Bat day, same Bat time, same Bat place, but not to Batty Joe, so the story goes.
BTW, Does Biden drink?
A lot?-

To bad people can't stick to the issues, that matter like the economy which is going farther and farther into the crapper under the current leadership of Bush and his gang.
The world is a much worse place than eight years ago. Unemployment is rising fast, people are losing their homes, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is costing us trillions.
But hey lets focus on a mistake by Joe Biden on a man nort being able to stand up, because he is in a wheel chair.
Now that is just world threatening isn't it ??????
Really isn't there something more important than this to be concerned about ???
No I won't prop it.
Don't send me the swift boating stuff I don't like it from either party.-

Or waving at Stevie Wonder?
http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/bushwave.asp
Except The Bush waving at Stevie Wonder is false (per snopes)
And Biden telling a guy in a wheel chair to stand up is true (per the Video)
Focus on issues right, so is that why Team Obama has been issuing Smears at Palin for the last 11 days? -

Sooooooo........ I trully think that since the liberal '72 hour rule' didn't get Palin to drop out that maybe, just maybe Biden is about ready to call it 'quits'. Not kidding! And not just because of this gaffe because that's 'real' Biden 'stuff'. He is killing the ticket........ well, not to mention the other guy on the ticket pretty much being clueless.

Gosh........ give me and Biden a 'stand-up' guy and maybe we could be his writers?? -

Thanks for sharing that. That was a very sweet recovery by Joe and a very gracious response by everyone including the audience. I especially like the photo of the guy smiling broadly as our next VP shakes his hand. Maybe he's smiling to mask how deeply hurt and offended he was (because, I'm sure that was probably the first time anyone ever made that kind of error) and probably went home that night and cried himself to sleep. Bad, Joe! Baaaaaaad. ;-x -
