Verizon Worker Charged in 5,000 Illicit Sex Calls »
Posted By tdrapeau 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsA former Verizon technician racked up $220,000 in calls to sex chat numbers by tapping into the land lines of nearly 950 customers, authorities said Tuesday. Joseph R. Vaccarelli, 45, of Nutley used customer accounts to make about 5,000 calls to sexually explicit 900 numbers lasting a combined 45,000 minutes, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a news release.
Vaccarelli, charged with theft by deception and theft of services (both second-degree crimes), ended his 10 year tenure at Verizon last month amid the investigation. A Verizon spokesman believes this to be an isolated incident, that "should not reflect on the overwhelming majority of our workforce, who bring pride and respect to their jobs every day." 45,000 minutes is the equivalent of one month of call time.

YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A REPUBLICAN, BUT ITS STILL A REPUBLICAN!!!
Reply
The McCain/Palin ticket is the SAME Republican party, financed by the SAME big corporations that finance George Bush. They will continue most of the SAME policies that benefit big corporations, not ordinary families. We vote for the Republicans or the Democrats, the candidates are merely the party representatives. -

R U kidding Me? Someone cloned one of my Sprint phones 6 months ago. Fraud charges were in the thousands of Dollars. the Fraud Department offered tocredit my account above and beyone the Fraud charges each month because they could not take the charges off my phone bill...for more than five months? I spent hours upon hours and would probably equal days talking to everyone in the Company except the New Chairman. Finally cancelled our phones and will have to reconcile the Bill another way. Cloning is not a phone number, it has to do with the chip in your phone and can happen to anyone. Okay, Sprint Fraud dept. is not authorized according to their last Senior Account Executive or Specialist to give credits above fraud charges to accounts. In other words they lied to me cost me several months of angst. Sent me hundreds of pages of phone numbers which are called masking, and are not even real phone numbers. A total waste of time. I was also told by Sprint

Fraud it cost more than 1 million dollars to clone one phone. So has to be someone who is desperate not to be traced. Very Creepy
The next Choice..you guessed it Verizon!!!!!!!!!!!!Great I can hardly wait to see our phone bill and we as consumers are helpless to fight this, except to get the word out. They are all bad and they are all technically challenging us in a world where we have to use Cell Phones, not to mention our kids, who are discouraged from using the office phones at their Public Schools, which our taxes are paying for. I am tired of paying for people who want to break the law, I am tired of paying for people who want me to pay for lack of judgement and sexual indiscretions, from teen-age pregnancy, welfare and now jack-asses at my cellphone company who feel entitled to screw all of us over all in the name of "Who cares because we are a conglomerate" so deal with it!!!!! -

Verizon=Uncle Sam=Verizon Verizon hires ex military first That's not a bad thing, but you know how they think .That's why they gave Bush total access to all lines I hear Verizon is and always has been in bed with Uncle Sam( they kiss but won't tell). They might have total access to every piece of info on this planet, but then you already new that didn't you.LOL I should write a book, but I might wind up missing. The formentioned statement is the opinion of the writer.and a work of fiction

imagine how many people were charged for more minutes than they thought they used. may only equal one month of calls but it earned verizon probably thousands in over charges to customers they should keep him to make more money. cell phone companies and everyone in them are all thieves. not to mention all the radiation and health problems. they cause us.

Why is it everytime someone talks about a cell phone company all anyone does is complain about it....if its that bad GET RID OF YOUR CELL PHONE! I used to work for a cell phone company and people were always coming in yelling and screaming about charges "THEY" racked up on their own bill. Most people dont ask questions and certainly dont pay attention to what their signing. And for the person who says that everyone involved in cell phones companies is just ripping you off try again...I never saw a penny for any "overage" charges people racked up on their own bill.

We were overcharged a few times by Verizon for roaming charges, but they took care of the issue with no problem. My husband worked for them a few years back, and I agree that people don't pay attention to what they are signing or how many minutes they are using. Some would not monitor what their kids were doing, and then expect the company to magically "forgive" the huge bill they had racked up. A smart consumer will pay attention to their usage and their bill, and alert the company if something isn't correct. It goes both ways.
