Crack Addiction is considered to be one of the more severe substance addictions. Crack or sometimes known as crack cocaine is derived from from a pure cocaine base and hardened into a readily smoking form. The "crackling" sound the drug makes when being burned lends itself to the name it has received over the years. Crack Addiction has become an epidemic, cutting across all racial and cultural boundaries. In the beginning crack use was associated with the poorer inner city populace due to its cheap high, but today it has also moved into poorer rural areas as well offering the same "plus" for users.
