Palin Doesn't Know the Bush Doctrine: Why It Matters »
Posted By Neophile 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsWhat Sarah Palin revealed is that she has not been interested enough in world affairs to become minimally conversant with the issues. Many people in our great land might have difficulty defining the "Bush Doctrine" exactly. But not to recognize the name, as obviously was the case for Palin, indicates not a failure of last-minute cramming but a lack of attention to any foreign-policy discussion whatsoever in the last seven years.

It's kind of sad that she wasn't interested enough in why her country went to war, but she could probably quote verbatim, lengthy passages from the mediocre book.

Why any sane person would consider voting for someone who thinks that the operation manual for life in the twenty-first century, was written by a bunch of itinerant goat herders, over two thousand years ago, is totally beyond me.

Please direct me to a copy of the Bush Doctrine from Bush, himself, or at least one of his administration, rather than what is touted to be the Bush doctrine by the media.

Unlike, say, the Monroe Doctrine, the Bush Doctrine is not written down anywhere as an official policy or doctrine.
It is, however, accepted to be a four prong policy -- including the goal of spreading democracy, (which Palin "got"), "the coalition of the willing", keeping a strong US military as well as the pre-emptive first strike to defend US interests.
It is the MEDIA that have dubbed these policies as the "Bush Doctrine", not Bush or his administration.
And, of course, once again, someone for the left demonstrates their over-arching tolerance of those with whom they disagree. (Yeah, that's directed at you, Chuck) -

A knowledge of history is essential to keep you from repeating the same mistakes.

Palin's multi-college education has provided her with very little knowledge of world history.
Palin also apparently has very little knowledge of recent U.S. history as this interview clearly shows.
Two weeks of coaching by ex-Bush aids is not a substitute for real knowledge. -

Palin is there because the Repubs saw an opening no other reason. They saw millions of Clinton women voters not knowing what to do and they took a chance. Will it work in the long run, only time will tell.

Didn't I see Palin on the Leno show a few months back being interviewed as one of those not too brilliant College students ? Maybe the Repubs were watching that night also, she obviously impressed them. -
