Posted By Bkumm 1 year, 2 months ago in News

In her interview with ABC's Charles Gibson Sarah Palin articulated the Bush Doctrine as President Bush's “ worldview” . Oh, yeah, she's ready for the Big Show.

    BK,

    Clueless about what, exactly?

I find that specifics are required for best debate.

    For beginners like you.

That individual has a proven record of not being able to run a small town. She was forced by state republicon officials into hiring an administrator to run her small town for her. Most towns that size don't even have a full time mayor. and she still managed to leave it with a $22 million debt. And the high school has had it's funding cut at the same time the population was growing. Did I mention that her own children attend that school? Now that is true republicon family values!

    You want more?

No doubt McCain wants to bomb bomb bomb Iran. No secret there.
However even from the imperialist oligarch point of view, considering
the "interests" the US has in the region how can you defend such an irresponsible action? You agree with Palin (who incidentally claims Jews are sinners who must be converted to evangelical sects or burn in heck) that the U;S, should unquestioningly do whatever Israel politicians tells it to do?
This is one of the troubling facets of the Bush Cheney PNAC declaration.
Sounds like more of the same to me.
The idea that making idyll threats will solve a problem better than discussing a problem with the parties actually involved does not seem to have any historical support.

Right on. I was talking with my mom and she didn't have any idea what the Bush Doctrine was either. But, as they say, my mom isn't running for Vice-President.

        Senator McCain has chosen...poorly.

DaneL: "There is no Bush doctrine."

I don't know whether there is a Bush Doctrine or not, but had someone asked me that question, I wouldn't have known what it was. Perhaps it's just because I want to forget him as soon as possible and don't want to associate anything permanent with his name, but it would have stumped me.

That wasn't the disappointing part though; that could have happened to anyone. The disappointing part came later when she didn't answer the question even when it was explained to her.

Boy, I don't know about that. I didn't see it earlier, my broadband has been on the blink.

You know the usual things get you banned: being overly obnoxious about someone's religion, sexual orientation, blah, blah, blah. Spamming. Sockpuppetry. You know, the usual.

Most of the time you get a warning and a lot of the time the ban isn't permanent.

My rules for not getting banned are pretty simple:
Try to be as nice as possible while still getting your point across. Don't call people names. Report spam and don't spam others.

That's how I roll. God, how sad is that? Nothing like a 30 something short, fat, White guy trying to be "hip". LOL>>>

That woman is clueless, which is why they are sequestering her. The only reason she was picked was because she is a woman, to appeal to the women who supported Hillary, and it's actually worked on some of the more unintelligent ones.

If there is anything Sarah has in abundance..........it's drive and ambition.
They'll have tropical weather in Alaska before I feel sorry for her!
She could have told McCain "No thank you" - and spared her child
the world view of her predicament. She could have let her deal with
it personally and on a local level - but NO - Mama's got something
          she wants to do.......................sorry, Sweetie.
I don't think being with child before the wedding is the end of the world
          - and thank goodness for a LOT of us - but that's the view from middle age.
I just can't imagine it feels very comfortable for a teenager trying to cope
with her own problems and be supportive of Mom - in the world spotlight.
I think it probably bites - but I'm a Dem and you know how we are overcome
with emotion concerning the used and abused of our society.

I disagree with your point about her being the MOST unprepared Vice President candidate ever. One could reasonably argue that Admiral Stockdale in 1992 was the worst Vice President candidate ever. For those of you who have forgotten him, he ran with H. Ross Perot.

It's not how she speaks, dand, it's what she says.

She is the governor of one of the fifty states in this great Union of ours and she has a son going to Iraq. She is also the Vice-Presidential candidate for the Republican Party. Those are pretty big deals and she has NO CLUE what the Bush Doctrine articulates. None. Zero.

She IS different. She's the most unprepared candidate for Vice-President EVER.

I'm sure she's a wonderful person and a great mom. Heck, I'd even be willing to bet she's a pretty good governor. But, Vice-President? Come on.

The "Bush Doctrine" has been well articulated both by the Administration and the press.

If you've never heard it referred to that way, don't be ashamed, because I would venture to guess that most people haven't either.

However, as far as I know, you are not running for Vice-President of the United States. If you were, I can guarentee (because I know you) that you would absolutely know what it is and that you would be prepared to answer questions on the subject. Especially if you were a governor.

            She didn't have a clue.

Senator Obama does not yet have a "doctrine" because that is usually a policy decision articulated by a sitting President. The "Monroe Doctrine". The "Truman Doctrine" et al.

She has been fully schooled and indoctrinated to make general answers to specific questions. She has a set group of answers she has to memorize. (Ha, wher's that maverick in her that every one was talking about). If any questions becomes to specific, she has been trained to give one of those set answers. This is the person people think would be a good President in case something happened to the sitting President? As far as her going in there and shaking up things, that's a fallacy as well. She will only do what McCain tells her to do. This is a shame that McCain would use a woman candidate for his own political gain in this manner. Woman all over this country should be appalled at what McCain did.

If you really paid attention you would know that those two things are lies. She did not try to ban books. Se did not say that the war was a "task from god". Charlie Gibson and ABC conveniently (for Obama) left off the last part of her sentence when she made the remark.

If you weren't pre-disposed to convict her without knowing the facts maybe you would look a little deeper rather than believe the lies of a biased news media.

The group we have to choose from this election IS HORRIBLE but, Palin is the best of the top four that's for sure.

Yes, Sarah Palin didn't know what it is. But neither does Charlie Gibson. And at least she didn't pretend to know – while he looked down his nose and over his glasses with weary disdain, sighing and "sounding like an impatient teacher," as the Times noted. In doing so, he captured perfectly the establishment snobbery and intellectual condescension that has characterized the chattering classes' reaction to the mother of five who presumes to play on their stage."

Like too many women, Sarah Palin talks a lot. Unfortunately talking a lot of a good way to show your ignorance. She thinks foreign experience is equated with the fact that Alaska is so close to Russia, you can see the Russian mainland from some vantage points. And she equates her knowledge of the military with the fact that she can command the Alaska National Guard (which she never has.) Her answers are not simplistic--they are simple-minded. She's not even as smart as George Bush. But hopefully she will never be vice president--much less president.
