Could So Many UFO Witnesses Be Right? »
Posted By engineer 1 year, 1 month ago in Arts & EntertainmentFor decades, millions of people around the world have reported seeing UFOs hovering in their skies. It is a mystery that science has been unable to solve, and the phenomenon remains largely unexamined. Much of the reporting on this subject holds those who claim to have seen UFOs up to ridicule.

1) there is no way so many people didn't see something
Reply
2) just because there was an unidentified flying object doesn't mean it was from another planet. A large triangular craft in 1997 sounds alot like an early test of a stealth bomber.
3) I hope there is intelligent life out there 'cuz there doesn't seem to be much down here.
4) I remember in the early 80s seeing pictures drawn by chinese farmers of their 'abductors' that looked just like the pictures drawn by American farmers of their abductors (remember this is before China opened up,hell before the end of the cold war)
5) boooo!-

Here is the most accurate statement I've seen for a long time. Maybe some day when this planet shows some signs of intelligence we will be contracted by intelligent life.

Its mathematically more probable that intelligent life does exist somewhere out in the universe. Just look at our own solar system. We have Earth, which does have life. Then we have Mars and Titan which we believe there could be now, or once was life. So that's three in our own solar system. Not to mention that we don't know ways life could exist that isn't carbon based.

UFOs on the other hand are less likely to have visited the Earth. But the possible isn't that small. With the claimed sightings over millions of year -

The people who claim to have seen an UFO are the same people that Republicans fool every 4 years to vote for them. Any comment?>>>>

Yep, I have a comment. I've never voted for a CON, and when I was six years old saw a UFO. Me and three of my brothers (aged 7,8 & 9) stood on our second story porch and watched it hover right over our house, 59 years ago.

I saw footage of the thing over Phoenix. If it was a Stealth bomber, it was the biggest bomber I have ever seen. Not only was it the biggest, but, by golly, it could hover without moving, and, turn on it's lights slowly. UFOs exist for sure. However, it's still in question who or what could be pilotting them. IF they are from a galaxy millions of light years away, are corporeal and existed for hundreds of thousands of years with NO concept of God, then the Bible ends up looking like the Quran, because, if you read Genesis, it looks like the universe revolves around the earth, not the earth revolving around a galaxy. The sun and stars come into existence AFTER the creation of the earth! Aliens on other planets existing for millions of year? For us who believe in the Bible, or, the Quran, ouch.

Certainly anyone who observes the night sky for any length of time will see a UFO.

(Something they can't identify or explain). Arthur C. Clarke said this, and he was a scientist as well as a writer, he designed the first communications satellite (telestar). -

First the two big IF's:

IF they are from galaxies millions of light years away, and
IF they have no concept of God. . . .two very big IF's and baseless assumptions.
As far as your Genesis comment, aparently you haven't read it. Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." The heavens include the Sun, moon, planets, and all the stars and galaxies. The Sun and moon were not created on the fourth day, but became visible (since it was after the earth brought forth plant life) possible due to the cloud cover thinning during that time period whenever it was. You have siezed upon ONE interpretation of Genesis held by a very small minority of Christians, and seem to imply it is the major or even the only interpretation. There is nothing in Genesis that indicates a believe that the universe revolves around the earth.
There may be life on other planets and in other galaxies. After all, if God could and did creat life here, why couldn't He create it in other solar systems as well? The answer is, He could! If there is extraterristial life, I am certain God created them too! -

Well I once asked my brother who had a very narrow interpretation of the bible and christianity what he thought about aliens, he told me that he didn't believe that there could be any other kind of life other than what we see in earth in the whole universe; I told him that it would seem such a waste of space if this planet would be if we were the only ones. (I certainly believe that there is some kind of life out ther, and possibly there is, was or will be another intelligent speices out there, but that there are here abducting people and showing their fancy ships to us, I find that very very unlikely.) I alter asked him what would he think if we made contact to an intelligent alien speices, he told me that he would think it that it would be a trick from satan! I'm glad that I've seen my brother open his mind in a lot of issues, (even evolution), but he showed to me that no matter what, the most fundamentalist of any religion will still belive their narrowminded interpretations.

People say UFO's cannot have visited earth because the distances are way too big and you can't travel faster than light etc etc. What the scientists fail to recognize is that their minds are still so tiny and sceptically driven. Everything they "know" today about the "laws" of physics will most probably have to be rewritten in the future anyway. Afterall the great minds of the past once believed the earth was flat....and for now nothing can travel faster than light.

Go to a civilization out there with hundreds of thousands or millions of years of evolution beyond our own..I think we'll find they've worked out long ago how to travel wherever they want including earth maybe :)-

The problem here is that there is just not enough evidence to link the UFO phenomenon to an extraterrestial source. Aliens are the fairies of our time, every thing that we see in the sky and we don't understand we automatically assume an alien source. and in more than 85% of the cases that assumption has been proven wrong. There are quite a few unexplainable things but scientist have the tendency of using the Occam's razor becauase is a very usefull tool that has helped us to get to (or at least vey very close to) the truth of many many things.

Agreed C3PEEOH, we're not alone and likely never have been. Ridicule, as we all know from the current elections, is a powerful tool to keep sheeple in line ane unaware. Ridicule is easy, research takes time. BTW, there are actual UFO reasearches out there doing good leg work, but only the flakes get PR and it's easy to debunk them lending credibility to the nay sayers. point of view.

Some interesting comments about both UFOs and mankind, I tend to agree that UFOs do excist and I imagine that there would be many more reports of sightings except if you report that you have seen one then you get classed in with the looneys.

I've seen things in the sky that can't be so readily explained in any conventional reason. I think it's ignorant, and even arrogant to say that we are all alone in this galactic neighborhood, with any possibility that there aren't any civilizations out there with a huge cosmic jump on us in terms of both advancements in evolution and technology.

If I were an alien from an other planet, I would have to be worried about what the idiots with the nuke buttons do. Our planet could very well turn in to bits and pieces flying into space at a high rate of speed, to collide with their planet and possibly destroying them.
