The willingness to criticize so-called Big industries has grown exponentially since the depredations of the tobacco industry were laid bare in the 70's and 80's. I've always felt that big pharma is probably the least deserving of attack, but I'm afraid it's become a kind of reflexive response with some people toward any industry that posts a high stock price.

God knows, without pharmacology, and LOTS of it, I'd have been in my grave a decade ago.
