All I ask is when dejected right wingers show up, please educate them PROPERLY before putting them to work cleaning up restrooms and peeepshow booths. As the last 8 years have demonstrated, our education system is a disgrace to humanity.

I LOVE Ian & Sylvia!
Though, Chuck, I'm not kidding on the Harp seal thing - that's
a real deal breaker. I don't hold ALL Canadians responsible for
what their government allows - BOY! Wouldn't that be the pot
calling the kettle black, considering how much my opinion has
affected our policies down here!
But it still happens, doesn't it?

"The idea that too many people from the United States could come to live in France is absurd," French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared, "Republican or Democrat, fat, stupid, racist or criminally insane - it makes no difference. We'll gladly take them all."

Why not just ship them our criminals, sane or insane? lol-

Well, they think Jerry Lewis is an auteur so we're probably all the same to them, I say go for it!

I kid! I love the French!
Liberty! Equality! Fraternity!
Where would we be without your help in our Revolution against King George III's hateful taxation without representation? I'd like to personally thank you for that!
And, the Louisiana Purchase? Such a deal! I'd like to thank you for selling us the middle of our country at such a wicked inexpensive rate!
Creole cooking is tasty as well!
And thanks in general for Louis Jordan, what a great screen presence, Claude Monet, a really fine impressionist, Francois Truffaut, my favorite part of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Auguste Rodin, a fine sculptor, love that "thinker"!
Thanks for loaning us your country's name for French fries, and for French dressing too!
And thanks for teaching Julia Child at your cooking school, I dug her so much when I was a kid!
Joan of Arc, very inspiring.
I'd like to thank you for Jacques Cartier, who discovered the St. Lawrence River. Good find!
Thanks to the French Jesuits who established Fort de Chicago where one of our greatest cities now stands!
And finally, thanks for that statue you sent us! As a nation, we remain impressed! We put it up in New York City! -

The seeming requirement of a Master of Science degree in order to be a tailor, dry cleaner, hair stylist, or manicurist that exists in central and eastern europe may be a daunting one to most, though. -

Currently pondering whether to remain overseas (in Japan) following recent resignation/retirement, or get back to where I once belonged.
Chances look slim on a return, at the moment.-

When asked if three doesn't turn out to be a charm this time, where
would I go? I answered - unsure - but maybe Scandinavia. My child
said "Nooooo!" "Mom, they have one of the highest suicide rates in
the world because it's so gloomy." Really? Then they asked what
about Switzerland? I had no idea. I know it's beautiful - but my guess
is the cost of living is astronomical. Am I correct?

In preparation for the expected influx of Americans, several European countries are trying to expand the number of McDonald's within their boundaries to 1 per 5,000 population. Wait... you say they're already there? Maybe they'll have drives to expand literacy in American English. Already better than us, huh? Well maybe they won't do anything after all.

This reminds me of an Art Buchwald column from decades back (anyone remember Art Buchwald?). Following one of our elections he talked about the complaints among his Canadian Friends that every four years hundreds of thousands of Americans said they would immigrate to Canada if the opposing side won. But after preparing for and anticipating an influx of U.S. immigrants, they always ended up disappointed -- hardly anyone ever came.

Any one leaving the country over an election is well short of being an American.I really don't care what they do. I would pass a law that you can't return for at least five years, and any children born outside the country will not have American citizen automatically upon return

I'm thinking about Canada in the summer and the French Rivera in the winter......but the transatlantic flight would kill my wings at my age. In our younger days we could do it.
Reply
Perhaps Canada in the summer and Jamaica in the winter, now that would work!
Thanks ind0, I can always count on your posts for a good laugh! -

Sounds like you still understand our language so poorly that you prefer
the good old anti-American KKK hatespeak...
Please go away, you're infecting our democracy!!!
Just because you don't know how to compromise, debate or accept varying opinions doesn't mean that those who do should evacuate and leave 200 years of proud
democracy to the likes of you (haters)..
Go back and take a civics class, will ya?? (and while you're at it, maybe obedience school (for manners).
Then you can actually come back here and try a civil discussion! -

As I live near the border, I have volunteered to pat down new refuges coming over...no hand guns please. I will also be checking for gun powder residue. If you do not understand any question , just reply "EH !".... that gives you and edge. Try wearing a hockey jersey as well... oh yeah if you can knock out a couple of teeth it goes well with the jersey. Good luck...Bonne Chance

what a tease .......the thought of getting rid of the party that its latest true leader john f. kennedy who was famous for repeating the words" its not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country " its been decades since any of them truly felt that patriotic such as seen with the nominee they currently support as is obvious by the comments his own wife repeated not once but twice as well as the company he surrounds himself with the (so called rev. ) wright , bill ayers, rezko , ect... please feel free to launch me an e-mail in nov. if you need a ride to the border I will assist and dont worry WE WILL GET YOU IN besides there are numerous mexicans I served with in the United States Marine Corps who have relatives who want citizenship in this great nation legally who if they have 1/2 the patriotism in thier body as thier kin they are twice the american you are, who are just waiting on you low lives to leave so there is room for them. looking forward to improving this nation bye lol
