    I did a test: and it is true that 2006 receipts where greater than 2000 reciepts.
    even after adjusting for chained dollars and acounting for "Net" reciepts.
    (I can not find tax refunds in the budget, there is some stuff but the number do not jive with the IRS,.It is worth looking at, the numbers we are given represent gross colections.)
    Even with these adjustments the number is admitabbly bigger, but by nowhere near as much.
    I have not played with GDP, don;t trust it as a metric.
    None the less government recipts rarely shrink.
    And you do not me to start talking about spending.

      I agree with you on spending. It's out of control, and both parties are responsible. No one wants to live on a budget.

      I don't want to argue, lest I prove the article's point : )
