The Golden Compass and the Christian Institute
The demented, homosexuality-obsessed fundies at the Christian Institute have released a “fact pack” about the recently-released movie of Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass.....
MediaWatchWatch was set up in January 2005 in reaction to the religious campaign against the BBC's broadcasting of Jerry Springer: the Opera.
We keep an eye on those groups and individuals who, in order to protect their beliefs from offence, seek to limit freedom of expression. And we make fun of them.

There were a bunch of nutjobs trying to get the GC banned in libraries and movie theatres here in the US as well. They claimed (and I suppose it's true) that it was authored as an atheistic text to specifically counter CS Lewis's Narnia series. Frankly having read it, I don't think it's atheistic at all (even though the author claims it is). If Lyra set out to kill a 'false God' then by definition there must be a 'real God.' Even if it's not in the theological realm of a 'Christian' or Abrahamaic God.

Freedom of access for ALL groups is the ideal.

Freedom of information for groups that are opposed abortion.
Freedom of a woman to tend to her own body.
If these ads persuade women to choose to continue a pregnancy as a matter of free choice, that can only be good.
If these ads invade a woman's control over her very own body, they are evil -

Everyone who disagrees with the ads should stop using Google and also send an email to tell them so.
