This lady is just a crazy ranter. She has absolutely no knowledge about what is going on in the world. If you read a couple of her articles like the one where she goes crazy over the McCain ad that says that Obama is giving comprehensive sex ed to kindergarteners. First off if a politician makes a claim you should verify it from at least 1 other source and preferably the opposition to know how credible the claim is. In this case it is very simple to look up IL law and read what the law is really about. Barrack Obama wants to educate kids about how to avoid child molesters. The conservatives still believe that if you don't mention it it won't happen. The reality is Bristol Palin. The big question is do you want your kid learning about sexual predators from a finger printed and background checked teacher following an approved curriculum and responsible to a principal and on up to the school board or from dirty larry, the bum who hangs out in the park with a bag of candy and some really fruity tasting wine coolers. Personally I think Obama's plan is a better idea.

In actual fact there is a bill that Obama supports that has sex education for K-12. There would be age appropriate education but it is there none the less. Personally I think that is going way too far. While predators are part of it there are provisions for telling them what anybody is allowed to touch or say to them. "Sexual education" not just predators.

Has our country become so lost that we are failing to preserve the greatness of our country and why almost every country in the world wants what we have (yes we are GREAT)?

I have major doubts about Obama's motives and if he is really interested in helping America overall or just seeking to satisfy his own ambitions. I question his patriotism as well.
Patriotism a deep binding loyalty and respect for one's country. Generally, when a group of people have this common bond, they show their camaraderie in unified likeness (i.e. saluting the flag, placing a hand over the heart....or something that is known to be acceptable to show unity, respect and honor).
Obama, as an educated man, should know this without a doubt and his trying to explain it away is bogus meaningless words. I understand some ignorant illegal alien not saluting the flag, but many of those folks who have become U.S. citizens are very respectful of the U.S.A. and what it stands for.
Patriotism is our great country's legacy of respect for those who have gone before us in war, shed their blood, and sacrificed their lives for the rest of us to be free. Knowing how to show gratitude, give honor and respect for our flag is symbolic of giving the same honor and respect to everyone, past and present, who has participated in our great freedoms through sacrifice.
Our military has such a great significance in our past and present, surely whoever is elected as the Commander in Chief of the United States will stand and salute the "stars and stripes" of the U.S.A. as an act of Patriotism.
Anyone who doesn't know this and/or isn't willing to show the appropriate respect for the flag should NEVER be allowed to run for office, let alone be the President of the U.S.A.-

Well Granabel, "superpatriotism" has been the plaything every tinpot dictator since the dawn of time has used to justify his crimes. Although my family has a long history of fighting for our country (since our war of independence), the older generations are extremely proud that our younger members saw through the Bush lies from the beginning and refused to contribute to Bush's crimes against humanity.

And, I gather you haven't spent much time in any foreign countries lately. There aren't any that want to be like the US.
As for the Pentagon, it has become a cesspool of corruption that these days has zero to do with the sentiments you express.
Exposing Pentagon and CIA Corruption
The Special Operations Advisor to the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI), who is also a two-star general, sent extensive government corruption and cover-up information to Henry Waxman, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform committee - in 12 separate cases.

I suggest that you show extreme disrespect for American democracy with your statements.

People have to have something to talk about. Realistically, there's reason to believe that nearly half of Sen. Obama's party aren't thrilled with him. The same is true of McC. That's a lot of potential sources for rumors.

But since this thread is on Obama-- I thought that both Clintons have issued statements of support. But have they done anything else?

I am sadly disappointed by the choice for pres. candidate on both sides. It is a plain and simple fact that no one is there to represent the average everyday blue collar worker. This is the guy who has been ignored by government for the last 30 years.

The fact is if you don't have a lobbyist, you don't matter.
My congressman, Roy Blunt, is a prime example of just how little our current administration cares.
There have been numerous storms here in Missouri through out this year, and each time disaster strikes, Blunt is there the next day to tell the cameras how much he intends to help. But help never arrives.
This time, we are looking at McCain, (another Blunt), or Obama. I will take my chances with Obama, but he is no where close to what I wanted to see in a candidate. -

It is undeniable that Hillary would have been a much better choice but being that she is a much stronger person than Obama, he probably made the better choice for himself by picking Biden. Not the best choice for the country, but the best choice for himself. Obama needs a guide and Biden isn't the good choice for that postition.

Its just a matter of who the Pres candidate is trying to appeal too. Women or white men. Palin didn't work for Mccain because half the women don't like her. Biden is the best bet to capture the white man vote. White men vote for white men unless they are a feminist and few are feminist.

RIChris This happened in the past to see how stupid American can be.Senator McGovern in nineteen seventy two somehow got on the democratic ticket, big mistake. He was not going to be president. Now here comes a man who has not one qualification to be president, with exception of age citizenship.A white senator with the same time in office, and experance had stood up ,and announced his run for president would be the thing jokes are made of for the next twenty years.Plus Obama is not, and never will be American enough for me. I don't give a big rats a$$ if our enemies are offended by my flag,I also feel the same about blacks in this country who are offended by our nation anthem, including Obama.Yes I am all American from the tip of my boots to the top of my gray hair.

You are what is wrong with America. Racist ignorant piece of crap who is responsible for the downfall of America. Stupid idiot who supports sending American jobs to China. The reason America is failing is because of worthless crap like you who will support politicians who are stealing everything not sold down and giving it to the wealthy or the Chinese because just because they are white and can say jesus and ronald reagan. You don't know crap about reality. Obama offended by the pledge? You seriously believe that crap? If you do you are an absolute idiot. You are the reason other countries laugh at us. Do you like paying over a trillion a year because that idiot W thought he could drive into Iraq, steal all their oil, and none of the Iraqis would get upset? Do you realize how absolutely stupid the idea that Iraqis would thank us for stealing their oil is? The problem with America is the my country right or wrong idiots who are white trash from the tip of their boots to the top of their gray hair. The problem with people like you is you think it is more important to look the part than do the job. Dumb idiots when they praise reagan always say the greatest thing is that he looked presidential. Never mind that reagan was a huge supporter of terrorism and drug trafficking and couldn't remember much because he was suffering from alzheimers. After Clinton who was hated by republicans because he was successful. Republicans have shown that they would rather the country fail than have a democrat lead it to prosperity.

Have we so easily forgotten 9/11? Innocent Americans were jumping out of buildings after terrorists attacked our country. I taped Bush's address to the nation and have not forgotten his promise to hunt down those responsible. As he said then, he promise has remained through his presidency - his priority would be to find those responsible for the attacks against our country. AND, he said this would be a long and costly war. For those of you who actually believe that this is about oil and domination over middle east countries, are you so naive as to miss that our country has the ability to obliterate and take over any middle eastern country that stands in our way. If we were to use tyrannical force simply to obtain oil, it could be done in a heartbeat. It would be messy, but that didn't stop Hitler. The "Bush lied" mantra is garbage. He spelled out his plan and Congress approved it - overwhelmingly. Have you forgotten the attacks against our country during the Clinton years? They were unprovoked, calculated and numerous. Bush made it his mission to keep America safe. During his administration, not one further attack has succeeded on US soil although many planned have been detected and subverted. If I were a terrorist, I'd be praying that Obama would win. How easy it is to give "face time" in diplomacy and stab your enemy in the back during his spineless administration. McCain and Palin pose the greatest offering in restoring America's health - not because they are perfect, but because they embrace the American legacy of remaining independent and strong. I don't believe you can experience the suffering of being a POW for as long as McCain and not have the fortitude to hold near and dear to the sanctity of upholding the Constitution and the provisions of the Declaration of Independence. The purpose of government, as stated in our Charters, is to secure those Rights outline in the Declaration. And let us not forget this: Congress is the branch that makes law, the President enforces it. Our present financial woes, our inability to make laws and financial decisions that benefit Americans is due to the back room, rule bending, stone walling, bill killing, riders, and bickering of Congress. But instead of placing the blame where it lies, we remain ignorant of the responsibilities of Congress, we allow courts to make law instead of interpret it, and then we hope that the candidates who run for president can make it all right. That having been said, I want a president who has looked the enemy in the eye and knows that his/her resolve must be stronger than that of the enemy. McCain, old or not, has that. Obama hopes to work things out. Palin exemplifies an understanding of the silent American; Biden (and Clinton) think they are smarter than the constituency.
