Technically because she was born in one of the 50 US States and has no felony convictions, she is legally qualified to be VP. But anyone who wants this woman and her finger anywhere near the Armageddon button is nuts! But considering that around half of all Americans are still Biblical literalists she still has a pretty large base to preach to. We saw them turn out in Florida yesterday. And these people vote. That ignorance has always been a threat to the Jeffersonian idea of America. That ignorance finally has a true face. That face is Sarah Palin.

The polls show Obama up like four points. So in reality I think he is down about 5. It is going to take a miracle (and you have to then believe such things exist) for Obama to pull this off. I just don't see it happening. And then we will be stuck with mediocre leadership (and in Palin's case far worse) for another 4 years. -

"Looks like you people are in the minority - 56% for Palin."
How does this make anyone minority? Anyone that is a natural born citizen of the United States and has not been convicted of a felony is qualified to run for the office of president or vice president or senator or congress. That is just two of the main qualifications. Even I voted that she has the qualifications to run. Now if the question was if she has enough experience to get my vote, the answer would have been no.

LOL What a spin. mayor of small town but don't put Obama as Ill. senate and then don't put down that Palin and Obama were elected for their offices in the same year, 2006, but put Palin down as Gov. and Obama as a year and a half. If those qualifications of Palin were those of a Democrat you people of the right wing nut group would be putting them down like a stray dog but since she is Republican you embrace her like she's the second coming of Christ. What a joke.

I thought Obama was running against McCain. Oh that's right. You want to keep McCain out of the picture so people won't see how senile he has gotten. ROFLMAO. -

You have a woman born in 1964 and a man born in 1962 and their accomplishments:
PTA President
Register Democrats and get them to the polls
--------
Mayor of a small town
Writes two ego-centric books
------------
Governor of Alaska
a few years in the Illinois legislature and a year-and-a-half in the US Senate.
---------------
Sees dishonest members of her own party and does something
about it.

Negotiates with the big oil companies.

I guess we'll have to get Palin a Wellesley voice coach who can help her out with that monotonal, Northeastern, condescending drone that alerts others to their relatively low social status and worth.
Reply
That way liberals can relate to her, too. -

"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States."
Reply
There you have it straight from the Constitution itself. If Palin is a natural born citizen, at least 35 years old, and a resident for the past 14 years, she is qualified to be V.P. and President. So is Biden, McCain, and Obama and roughly 200 Million other Americans.
To those who don't believe she's qualified: GO TO SCHOOL!-

In 1995-200, Obama was in Chicago throwing away close to $150 million with no results.
Reply
“Chicago received $49 million from a $500 million endowment by Walter H. Annenberg, the billionaire publisher, for school reform efforts nationwide, and the city added $98 million in matching funds for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a philanthropic campaign that financed enrichment projects at a third of the city’s 600 schools.”
He was president of the project 1995 to 2000
Wikipedia says: “The project appears to have failed to achieve any of its stated, measurable educational goals. For example, a comprehensive study by the Consortium on Chicago Schools” Research concludes:
"Results suggest that among the schools it supported, the Challenge had little impact on school improvement and student outcomes, with no statistically significant differences between Annenberg and non-Annenberg schools in rates of achievement gain, classroom behavior, student self-efficacy, and social competence."

You have to think really long and hard on if you want Palin to be our VP this coming election. See how her party is treating her with kid gloves, so she don't get into trouble with real questions from anyone. How did McCain all of a sudden become the stand in governor of Alaska, he has his people up there in Alaska taking questions on behalf of the elected governor is this right or wrong. Something stinks here don't your think??

Wow - You sound like an ignorant Democrat! You really should study your political history more - it is rather enlightening.....you see, honestly - Dems have that kind of general intollerable, closed minded views that lash out with hate and vengance. Where does all this hate come from? Stick to the issues - or do you eveb know what they are?

So because we had more minorities in the current cabinet including 2 African Americans as Secretary of State and have a woman running as VP, we're a bunch of racists? Most of us would have rather had Secretary Rice as our Presidential candidate but McCain will do. As to your other rants of ignorance, I'm not sure what to say other than your foil hat seems a wee bit tight today.

The question is already skewed, in that it assumes Palin is qualified in the first place and THEN asks if Obama 'measures up' to Palin.
Reply
I'd have the same complaint if the question was "Does McCain have as much foreign policy experience as Obama?"

So let me get this straight. We have a strong woman. Has a great family but like all families, comes challenges. She's a career woman and politician. Seems the ideal candidate groups like NOW should support but they've tossed her under the train for the all guy team. A woman on the ticket and they pick the guys, what a bunch of hypocrites. It's pretty clear to me that the only thing that matters is that you have a D next to your name.

A liberal rights group and you expect logic? You'd think supporting a woman in the race would help break the glass ceiling but not according to the National Organization of Women. All that matters is what their DNC handlers tells them to do. NOW is little more than a DNC front group. The party tells them it's not their turn and they fall into line like a bunch of school girls. They should just declare that so they can get funding from Soros and his cronies.

a} I don't have a horse in this race chuckles
Reply
b] what proof do you have the DNC picked according to race?
always happy to provide a laugh, unintentional or otherwise
dude said NOW should back Palin because she has no Y chromosome and picking according to gender makes as much sense as picking according to race
*echo echo echo...*
and BTW, logical acumen and reading comprehension says that would condemn the Democratic Party, if they are the ones who picked Obama according to race, not 'my own candidate'
Obama didn't pick himself according to race
remember Doug Williams:
reporter: How does it feel to be the first black quarterback to win the Super BOwl?
Williams: I don't know: I been black all my life
;-)
I guess this is why people don't argue with me on here
I can be a bit of a Cheney
