Very nice piece of propaganda. A textbook example. Not one quote in context, appeal to nationalism and fear, not one mention of the facts that don't support the warped presentation, the works.

I imagine if Goebbels was alive to see the piece he'd cry tears of joy at such ready adoption of his technique by the wizard of propaganda Lorne Baxter and giddy willingness of the demagogues to blindly lap up every inane piece of subterfuge in it.

Sort of like what Michael Moore does?

Gee, I thought we were talking about Baxter's "masterpiece", but if the demagogues like yourself want to change the topic to Michael Moore then I don't mind discussing that either.

Tell me, demagogue gwhiddon how does the use of deceptive techniques by Michael Moore justify Baxter's subterfuge? Or is this yet another one of those two wrongs make a right fallacies that you demagogues love so much?

We know McCain in AZ & haven't forgotten his deep involvement in the Keating 5 scandal. That brought down the S & L's. Now here we go again. Hepretends to want to punish the "greedy" Wall Street robbers. I don't believe the lies spread about Obama. I guess that is how the Republican party wins - lie about the opposition. Sad how many people believe the lies.

McCain was cleared of charges in the K5 case.

That is nothing compared to the Dem involvement in the Fannie Freddie scandal. They spent more in one day than it took in five years of war to bail out thier rich friends at fannie and freddie, the Democrat cash cow.

But I know it's ok to live big corps if they are full of Dems.

Yes McCain got off with a slap on the wrist in the era in which Reagan solidified corruption in the Congress. Remember this was the period when the GOP and fundies were working with drug dealers, international arms traders, right-wing assassins, .... to kill 300,000 christians in central america.

If we had cleaned out this bunch of crooks then, we wouldn't have had them back committing more crimes against humanity and robbing us blind then.

Bush, McCain and the Old Iran-Contra Team

T he vetting of Sarah Palin for the McCain campaign by an Iran-Contra alumnus brought an epiphany. (See “ The Man Who Vetted Palin,” CounterPunch, September 8, 2008.) The American people’ s inability to control this crime spree we call the Bush administration is not because we’ re lazy, narcissistic or willfully blind to human rights violations, as much of the world now views us. It’ s because we’ ve been misidentifying this crime spree as “ the Bush administration.” What we’ re clearly confronting is the Iran-Contra Alumni Association masquerading as the Executive Branch, replete with domestic spying, dark ops, fake journalists, fake news reels, press intimidation, protester arrests, infiltration and torture. Their latest maneuver is the woman with zero foreign policy experience a heart beat from taking that 3 a.m. call. A call which, of course, they’ ll answer for her as they have done for Bush II.
