The Twelve Lies Of Sarah Palin »
Posted By Neophile 1 year, 1 month ago in Political NewsThese are not hyperbolic claims or rhetorical excess. They are assertions of fact that are demonstrably untrue and remain uncorrected. Every single one of the lies I documented holds up after several news cycles have had a chance to vet them even further.

You Say this is not excess rhetoric, and yet you expect us to be suprised that even women politicians lie....OMG, NEWS FLASH! what centry are you from, the world is not flat but it runs on money, always has always will, as the sun will come up and every politician on this earth has and will lie, just like the rest of us. I've lied to cops, to my parents and to God. Just like Palin, just like everyone else. Wake up and smell the reality it tastes like cofee.

While that was uneloquent, you did at least make your point:

everyone lies and so it is dishonest to be outraged by lying.
if you are telling us the truth, you are outraged by Neophile's dishonest outrage.
Right.
But, in the real world (the one that doesn't smell like coffee) there are liars and there are people who tell the truth; and we can choose to be one or the other.
And the liars are forever worthy of our outrage.
And that is the truth. -

Sliming Palin

False Internet claims and rumors fly about McCain's running mate.
Summary
We’ve been flooded for the past few days with queries about dubious Internet postings and mass e-mail messages making claims about McCain’s running mate, Gov. Palin. We find that many are completely false, or misleading.
* Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements.
* She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.
* She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She’s been registered as a Republican since May 1982.
* Palin never endorsed or supported Pat Buchanan for president. She once wore a Buchanan button as a "courtesy" when he visited Wasilla, but shortly afterward she was appointed to co-chair of the campaign of Steve Forbes in the state.
* Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."
We'll be looking into other charges in an e-mail by a woman named Anne Kilkenny for a future story. -

She is not the only politician to lie or bend the truth.
Reply
I have checked, and she is the 150,024 politician to ever lie.
(Actualy, 150,025th, if you consider my uncle floyd who ran for dogcatcher on a 'protect the cat' platform.)
But anyway, precisely because so many politicians lie, and so few tell the truth,
it is worthwhile to encourage them to be honest ( cause they ALL read propeller ).
Even the Repulicians. -

I suspect it's because the American public is sick and tired of constantly being lied to by the Repugnant Con party and the majority of the public (or at least half) are sick and tired of the current Repugnant Con candidates continuing their lies over and over again even after being called on the fact that they're out and out lying.
Reply
It's offensive, it's dishonorable, it's not what our nation deserves, nor what our nation should stand for during any time in history including today.
If you're not offended by the constant, prideful lying of McCain/Palin then you're either blinded by partisanship or as stupid as they hope you are. -

The biggest lie of this election is that John McCain is a `maverick`.
Reply
The second biggest lie of this election is that Sarah Palin is a `maverick`.
If those two are mavericks, so is every other Karl Rove, Ted Stevens, Larry Craig, and so on and so forth.

Some types of lies are more damaging than others.

Lies that lead people to think that you are something you are not, or lies that falsely represent your opponent’s position are those types of lies. People that lie in that manner don’t deserve anyone’s support.-

How about this story where the "lies" that Palin told are actually twisted to make them seem like lies? These lies about Palin are trying to smear someone into something she is not. That fits with the "lies that falsely represent your opponents position" as far as I am concerned. The actual people running didn't say these things but a political hack did.

I believe this is the same Andrew Sullivan, accusing Sarah Palin of lying when he curculated rumors that Trig was not the governor's baby- that she had engaged in a huge charade to cover up her teen daughter's illegitimate child. And you want to believe what he writes?

It's OK, everyone lies, so I guess we shouldn't hold Palin or McCain to a higher standard. What a way to measure our candidates! I personally feel that Sarah Palin is not qualified to run for dogcatcher (my apologies to dogcatchers). Besides being a disingenuous, dissembling, pandering redneck, she's also a wacky homophobic Christian fundamentalist creationist, who has no respect for the environment, no respect for a woman's right to choose and certainly no respect for the truth. In other words, the ideal Republican poster child.

I'd like to hear your honest comments on this VP candidate:
It was also discovered that, while at Syracuse Law School, Biden had plagiarized a law review article in a class paper he wrote.
Biden said the act was inadvertent due to his not knowing the proper rules of citation, and Biden was permitted to retake the course after receiving a grade of F in the course.
Biden also released at the same time the record of his grades as an undergraduate which were C's and D's and an F in ROTC during his first three semesters.
Further, when questioned by a New Hampshire resident about his grades in law school Biden had claimed falsely to have graduated in the "top half" of his class, (when he actually graduated 76th in a class of 85 .
1988
Democratic presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden Jr., a U.S. senator from Delaware, was driven from the nomination battle after delivering, without attribution, passages from a speech by British Labor party leader Neil Kinnock.
A barrage of subsidiary revelations by the press also contributed to Biden's withdrawal: a serious plagiarism incident involving Biden during his law school years; the senator's boastful exaggerations of his academic record at a New Hampshire campaign event; and the discovery of other quotations in Biden's speeches pilfered from past Democratic politicians.

This "story" is in reality another NON-STORY, brought to us by neophile, a canadian atheist socialist who takes delight in submitting articles of questionable veracity about US politicians for whom he has particular disdain, written by persons of VERY questionable veracity, like the pompous and truth-challenged Andrew Sullivan.
Reply
In the article, one of the alleged "lies" cites the political/spiritual stance of the church Gov. Palin prefers to attend.
Shall we now discuss the political/spiritual stance of the church by whose racist ex-pastor Mr & Mrs. Obama were married, and where they have been members for over 17 years??????-

I've been away from Netscape/now Propeller for about 18 months and it's even more slanted now than ever before. There seem to be about 5 conservative voices left on the Politics channel or whatever it's called now. Most of the submissions that make it to the front page seem to be inflammatory anti-conservative stuff from Huffington Post, et al, submitted by Neo, who used to be the drive by negger when negging was a sport around here. How convenient that those with an opposing viewpoint seem to be banned on a regular basis.
Reply
Is it really that satisfying to talk among yourselves, waiting to attack anyone who has a conservative viewpoint? We used to have interesting and vigorous conversations here that sometimes became heated but nothing like this vitriol that is spewed here. I still have several of my old friends from 'back then' on my list but most of them are my liberal friends. Many of my old lib friends are not here anymore either. There seems to be a very young group here now. All bark and that's about it. Nearly everyone else has been banned. I've been looking around here for about a week before I decided to sign back in and I've got to say I'm really not impressed.

I picked one of the "lies" and checked it out. And how insignificant it is. Reaching way down to find anything bad about Palin. Keeping her daughters in the dark and then having a vote. It is itself a lie. I saw her name on a list of possible VP picks long ago. She seemed a dark horse then. Do you suppose she knew also? At that time her kids knew too. She asked them if she was picked would it be OK? They said yes. What the notorious liberal Republican basher Sullivan was assuming is that she was referring to the day she was actually selected. Not. They were "in the dark" that day but actually did catch on before they even arrived in Ohio. It's like the surprise birthday party that you know about well before (act surprised). She was just saying they had already agreed it was OK for her to run for VP. Does anyone really believe her kids didn't know of the possibility long before? I didn't check out his other claims of lies because the first one was completely wrong. I am amazed how gullible the anti-McCain people are. No wonder I'm scared that they could win and have their kind of President.

There are liars, and then then there are democrats who avoid the facts.Every one knows they sold this nation for the black vote, and a fist full of dollars.Every democrat senator, and congressman should be tried for grand larceny There should be more than one special prosecutor to go to work now, before the election. We know who instigated it,and we're pretty sure we know who perpetuated it.All we need to know now is how many pieces of silver they received for their treachery.

Of course all pols lie; the point, I believe, is that Palin has, right off the bat, been disingenuous.
As her resume is thin enough, and her qualifications in general questionable, this mendacity doesn't speak in her favor. -
