Pretty sleazy tactic really, having people pretend to be military mom's who support McCain, and bash Obama. Then trying to spoon feed these fale letters to the Media in hopes of them passing them on as fact to the American public...-

The biggest story of the campaign: Bye-bye, Rick Davis?
Mark this day down. Today – last night, actually – the New York Times and Roll Call reported (it's hard to see who was first) what may be the biggest political story of the campaign. How big? John McCain might have to fire his campaign manager. Big enough?
The story is this. The lobbying firm of Rick Davis, the manager, was being paid $15,000 a month by Freddie Mac until last month. That fact is a direct contradiction of words McCain had spoken Sunday night. At that time, responding to a Times story being prepared for Monday's paper revealing that Davis had been the head of a lobbying consortium led by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae until 2005, McCain said Davis had done no further work for either mortgage giant....

The Democrats are the group most known for dirty politics, always have been. The difference is how each group deals with the bad eggs in their party. Republicans get purged in shame BY FELLOW Republicans while Democrats make excuses for their bad guys and fight tooth and nail to keep them in office. And with the aid of the liberal (unprincipled) media they are around for the rest of their destructive lives if they wish it. The truth hurts and you will reject it but look at history with an objective mind.
Reply
Dems get away with murder (Kennedy), rape (Clinton), fraud (too many to name) tax evasion (too many to name), drug dealing (several), prostitution (several, but the disgusting Barney Frank immediately comes to mind), mob connections and so much more. Can you not see how the Dems pushed the Republicans into this awful bail out, then afterward BLAMED them for passing it when the majority who voted for it were Democrats! Disgraceful!
And now you guys are supporting a drug user who isn't even a US citizen, who is in favor of killing Christians in Kenya (hacking them with machetes and burning them alive) and babies, even up to moments before full term, and in a most inhumane way. He wants to silence anyone who opposes him, regardless of our right to free speech. (And plans to install his own civil police force to accomplish this country wide) He's in favor of annihilation of the people of Israel. He illegally accepts campaign contributions from unsavory, Muslim foreigners and mobsters.( Why would a couple married over 10 years (max incubation period) have aids tests on a trip to Kenya? He IS rather feminine, isn't he?) And that's just the beginning!
Thank you, God, for McCain and his higher moral character. He isn't my first choice, and most Republicans concur, but he's the best , by far, of the two candidates and Palin is awesome while Biden is frankly, a bumbling, lying idiot, constantly spewing incorrect facts and plenty of gaffs. If the news networks you guys watch would report them all, you'd too would get a laugh out of this mess at least.
Can't we all come together and try to get the best, most respectable, moral leader we can?-

Sounds like more of the same liberal slime tactics mostly by those who have never served the USA in any way.
Reply
Well I guess we now have a clearer view of where the candidate's priorities are. McCain, as he has done most of his life, puts his responsibilities and duties to the USA ahead of personal gain and personal comfort. But then he, as an experienced senior senator, has a connection to the post to which he was elected. Perhaps someone should explain the concept of leadership, honor, duty, and responsibility to Obama. The attitude of" Me above all else" is not a leadership trait. But then, when the Senatorial job is just a stepping stone, what can you say? But then again what could Obama, as a junior inexperienced member of the Senate, have to offer. Another vote present?-

I wouldn't doubt if some of these ghost-writers have appeared in our local paper, in a rural area of Michigan. Either that, or the local so-called "Christian" churches are teaching a heckuva lot of hatred these days! Some of the letters in our local paper are hard to even read they're so vile! I can't imagine having that much hate and disdane for another human being that's never even done anything to me. So much for WWJD!

Ladysmith, can you debate something in an intelligent manner without all this hate? Why are you so filled with anger and resentment? Do you not see that you come off as a bit unbalanced and unhinged.? Why are so few republicans willing to speak to issues here, some Democrats too, I love discussing politics, most here want to fight and repeat 30 year old platitudes. Just a side note Ladysmith, what polls are you watching? All respected, well known polls have Obama up anywhere from 5-12 nationally and electorally it is basically a lock...can you try to tell us why you support Mccain, or what things about McCain make him your guy? Can you do this without saying Obama in the same breath...I wonder?

On another post McBush's Team of Vicious Tricks (TVT) mailed out absentee ballots making the ballot application difficult to correctly fill out or with wrong addresses so that they can be stricken from voter registration and denying their vote to count.

FTA- "The story of "the Keating Five" has become a scandal rivaling Watergate. The outcome will be decided, not in a courtroom, but probably on national television.
Those who survive will be the sociopaths who can tell a lie with the most sincere, straight face. You are especially adept at this."

A typical profile might read:"I'm an ex Marine, conservative Christian Republican. I served two tours of 'Nam and I'm damned proud to call myself an American". During the 2000 Republican Presidential Primaries, Slate.com writer Chris Suellentrop wrote an excellent in-depth feature article about John McCain and his role in the Keating Five. This is a must read article for every American, especially for anyone who thinks John McCainis a hero.
Reply
Two Important things to know before you read the article:
1. John McCain admitted to intentionally filing false income tax returns to defraud the IRS by not claiming thousands of dollars in gifts McCain and his family received from Charles Keating and Keating’s company. Years later, when the IRS noticed Keating’s company had written off the gifts to McCain as business expenses, McCain fessed up and admitted filing false returns and made a “donation” to the U.S. Treasury to cover the amount he defrauded American tax payers. (Committing tax fraud is one of the least offensive things John McCain has done over his career, but this article just focuses on his role in the Keating Five, and the Lincoln Savings and Loan scandal of the late 1980’s-early 1990’s). McCain also leaked information about the Keating Five to the press multiple times in an effort to appear above the other Senators in the scandal. A 1989 Phoenix New Times article summed it up best with their title - McCain: The Most Reprehensible of the Keating Five.
2. John McCain’s wife, Cindy McCain, along with her father, made a $359,000 investment in retail property owned by Charles Keating in 1986, a year before John McCain first met with federal regulators on behalf of Keating. Keating was later convicted on 73 counts of fraud, conspiracy, and other crimes. Years later, Cindy McCain sold her investment for $15,000,000.-

Letters to the editor? First who still reads the papers? Secondly, what papers in the US prints a letter from someone that doesn't support their side? The Milwaukee Journal rarely prints anything contrary to their liberal policy. That is unless it's poorly written, misspelled and difficult to understand. They they might print a conservative piece. Hold on, if the McCain team did this, so what? Isn't this the same thing like when they send out the DNC talking points. Everyone remembers the word: Gravitas. It's a Latin word dating back to the Caesars time. Other than the DNC operatives, no one used that word in centuries in daily conversation. Then in a 24 hour period, you heard it from the Clintons to the New York Times. It was the DNC word of the week. This is the same thing. Only difference, these are grass roots people being asked to write letters, not paid politicians and the media.

So does that mean the DNC stops the corruption here in Wisconsin and Illinois? My father, a life long member of the GOP died 20 years ago. Somehow the man has come back to life 4 times since then to vote. Go figure he's registered as a Dem. We've had Votes for Smokes filmed by an ABC affiliate. We've had voter bingo in nursing homes. This is where they get Alzheimer patients to vote absentee by having them sign their names on ballots already filled in with the DNC candidate. Sign and you get a piece of candy. They did this last time here and had my grand mother fill it in but I caught them, filing a complaint with the state. My grandmother was on the county GOP chairman's board for for 30 years. Her high points were meeting Ike and Reagan. The tires of the GOP vehicles helping people get to the polls were slashed by the son of Congress woman Gwen Moore. He was charged but given the lightest sentence possible. There's an effort by her people to have the governor pardon him and remove all of this from his record. There are others too. This is very typical of the DNC operatives we have to deal with here. Most are home grown lefties but many do come from Chicago and New York.

You want change, let's change the laws. Break campaign rules go to jail for a very long time. Vote illegally, life in prison. Commit this on a huge scale as happens in Chicago, I say public execution. Okay maybe not that far but in the last 2 big elections, we had over 5000 fraudulent votes case. Without them, we would have been a red state.-

Funny how you got all those negs for speaking the truth because people are closed minded when hearing about the sins of the left. Same thing happens here, a strong democratic area. The mentally challenged are bused in to vote for the donkey and they really want to vote for the bunnies. They have no idea what they are doing. It's just another way for the director of the home to have people vote "his " way. To be fair, this country is big enough that a lot of this evens out because I imagine the same thing happens in the Republican areas. You wouldn't get them to admit it though.

A campaign manager, is not McCain! I'm sure McCain has been pretty busy with the bailout and election coming up in a month, so why title your headline as if it is McCain? Why all the smear? Why can't we simply get true reporting, unbiased, on both sides? Between Obama and McCain, it's hard for me to choose either..I'd like to see someone with better presidential material..but Obama is a charismatic poser with ulterior motives and I'm sure McCain has his motives..but our biggest problems are that things are out of control due to the focus on the war etc. I find the stability, skill and strength of Ron Paul to be what we need at this time in America. His no vote on the bailout came with a very brave and true speech to those trying to twist his arm. Not trying to please everyone with vague talk, he walks his talk and has the record to prove it. Next in line would be McCain...more so than Obama.

It's surprising to see how many people are easily BRAINWASHED by the elite media. I was fortunate enough to be born without blinders. McCain is NOT my first choice for President, but he's WAY ahead of Barack Obama on my list. Do you remember your parents saying that you sink to the level of the people you hang around? Barack Obama hangs around RADICAL, SOCIALIST, CRIMINALS. Therefore, I can only think that he shares some of their values.
Reply
However, that's not the main reason I'm not voting for him. I'm not voting for him because what he says, and what he's done are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS. How can anyone believe a single word?! Of course he'll say whatever he needs to say in order to win the election. Fact is that he will probably DO something completely different.
I own a business, I'm not rich or even well off, and I employ 27 people. If I end up getting taxed more, or have to pay a Healthcare penalty, some people are losing their jobs; bottom line. I cannot afford to pay more in tax or healthcare, so the money is going to have to come from what now goes to payroll. HOW IS THAT HELPING THE ECONOMY???!!! Small Business owners like me don't start out making a ton of money. They EARN it over several years of establishment!!! I bust my hump now to know that one day it will all pay off. If it doesn't pay off for ME, and it ends up paying off for some lazy shmuck, why would I do it? I agree with some type of Govt. provided healthcare, but get the money to pay for it from foreign aid money or something, not DOMESTIC small business.
If you learn how to think BIGGER, you will be able to understand that EVERY decision will effect different people in different ways. So, just because it sounds good because YOU'RE not a small business owner, doesn't mean it won't effect you because you're not a small business owner. In fact, it will probably effect you directly in a negative way.
FYI- I'm Independent. I actually lean further left than right, but not when it means electing the WRONG GUY. He can speak & spin, NO DOUBT. But, that only qualifies him to be a public speaker, not the leader of our country. Please think about the PROFOUND effects of your vote this election year.

Now, at McCain or Palin rally you have in-breds shouting out racist remarks and neither McCain or Palin have denounce those remarks!

Apparently you missed the clip, replayed repeatedly, where McCain disavowed a woman at a rally of the notion that Obama was a ... a ... a ... an Arab? He took the mike out of her hand and said "no, ma'am", and went on to say that he was a good man and a family man with whom he has disagreements on many things. Obama even thanked him.

At least be honest; if you can't do that, be factual.

Too bad McCain has to stoop as low as he has been. Can't somebody stop his pack of lies and tricks. It's just not right that they get away with all of this slander and lies!

Liberals dig for material to twist into a lie.

I've see lots of political "example" letters. Apparently this poor woman is a bit "attled" not to recognise that she was looking at a letter to aid in writing her own.
Geez, libs are silly! -

Are we actually surprised that candidates who have spent millions of dollars and uncounted hours on the campaign trail really really want to win? Do we honestly think that the candidates themselves personally told anyone to write fake letters or slash tires? Do we really believe that anonymous internet e-mails are more reliable than a free press when it comes to investigating allegations against any candidate? These questions are rhetorical. Do not destroy my illusion that there are still some people out there with common sense.

Exhonerated: There are no charges against McCain. The other fice were charged and he was found innocent by the courts check the information yourselfs.
Guess what Mcain was not in that at all. They were all charged but him facts on record online do your homework before you put your foot in it. McCain was found innocent and guess what Democrats where is Obams birth certificate from his Kenya father? Mr. Obama changed his name to have a Kenya name. Barry Sorato if he likes America where is his certificate.? The courts have the fake one online and anyone can sign the petition and it was a Democratic lawyer who has filed the suit.
Senator Arlene Spector and several other Senators from Pa. are also filing for misrepresentation of shcool and college records.
A friend of his from college came forward now and said that he would talk about Obams truth SATs- grants where they came from and he just got out of prison. I bet Obama tries to put him back where he came from. You better run bud but you cannot hide.
What about the tape that April 2008 that he refuses to let anyone see it shows him a couple of years ago with Ayres and another one and they are chatting about our future and it is not good.? McCain did not ask for it. The New Your Times asked for it.
Ask him why he still has Re. Wrights picture on his mantel with his arm around him if he dennounced him.? He said I did not know what was being said. but I went 2-3 times a week. In 20 years that comes to 500 times he sat through church and did not hear us called whities and dam American.
Michelle Obama was ashamed of us and we still like these people what does that tell you. We like a man who runs with Ayres and did you see Ayres standing on the American flag at the college good example for your children.
He is a radical that said he would have killed more of us if he could. Obama is using us to turn against each other for his own glory and satisfaction.
Look at Joe the Plumber he talked to him then mocked him, and then dug into his persoanl life just because the man asked a simple qeustion about his money. Obama said spread the wealth around well if you want to do so be it.
I am not giving my money to soem welfare person so they can be equal to me when I work for a living. Sorry You vote him in you hand your check over. -
