Yes, he made a mistake. A HUGE one. David Letterman will spend the next 39 days railing against McCain for canceling with only an hour til showtime, giving a bogus story about "rushing to the airport" when in fact he was sitting on a sound stage across from Katie Couric (on the same network, no less, yet McCain wasn't smart enough to realize he'd be caught in the act?)......he ****** off a man with a nightly platform to rant about being lied to. BIG MISTAKE.
Reply
His campaign is imploding in unison with the country's basic stability. Anyone paying attention HAS to recognize this man for what he is today. He may have been a hero or straight shooter in days gone by, but today he is as entrenched with the Washington elite as anyone on Capitol Hill. -

Listen to the foolish libs railing at McCain for putting the needs of the country first. I wonder what they would have been saying if he had done the show etc. They would be ridiculing him for not being there after his campaign of Country First. Either way they would rant that he has done the wrong thing. Looney Tunes Libs.

The best part of the show was when their cameras showed McCain getting make-up put on before his interview with Katy Curick. Letterman was very funny. "Hey John ... do you need a ride to the airport."
Reply
I don't think we will be seeing McCain on the Letterman show for quite a while. Not that I care...
McCain should not have lied to Letterman, if he wanted to do another interview because of circumstances. But, I have studied McCain enough to know by now that he lacks the integrity he pretends to have. -

I'm watching Letterman tonight and he brought it up again with Paris as guest. Paris said that she heard that McCain dumped him.
Reply
One other thing, McCain said he was suspending his campaign which is a lie. We're still getting his ads here on TV. -

McDunderhead just showed his real colors is all. He is a liar who is always looking to get a leg up.
Reply
Palin couldn't cover for him, the only reason he picked her is that nobody would declare him incompetant with her as the next in line.
As far as his debating skills, saying he was a prisoner of war is not presidential background material. Knowing what is needed to right this countries financial, moral and legal morass is. Sorry McDunderhead lovers He just struck out.
Why was he going to rush back to Washington to get involved with something he doesn't understand. He'd be like Ronald Reagan, they would tell him what to say and he'd recite his lines.
Except McCain can't do that!!!! He can't remember his lines and fouls them all up. That is why he didn't appear on Letterman.
Keep this mentally diminished dim wit out of the Whitehouse. After all eight years of the delusional and nightmarish Bush and company are enough for 100 lifetimes.
Thanks for the invite jovial -

This self proclaimed hero is actually an ugly coward. He knows that Bush policies which he is part of for 8 years and red necks who have supported have finally brought the country to its knees.
Reply
He knows he has no answer to any issues that ordinary people are concerned about as it is devastating their daily life and supporting their families.
He has done what a coward does, leave town, get away from people, walk away from questions.
Hey, you old hypocrite and dirty politician, YOU ARE A STINKING COWARD, to put it lightly.-

You are the hypocrite. It was the liberal compassionate bleeding heart concepts that brought this mess to this country. Of course liberals always think that their s**t don't stink. Well this one is a great big huge smelly pile.

The Community Reinvestment Act was a law signed by Carter in 1977. It only was to help minorities. Democrats in 1992 gave Clinton a bill to sign that put that act on steroids and made it for all people. It went into effect Jan. 1, 1995. From that point the sub prime loans went from about $48 billion to $1 trillion.
In 2003, 2005, and 2006 the Democrats blocked any reform for this. McCain warned against this saying the taxpayers would be exposed to an enormous risk. Who was right McCain or the Democrats?
So nikkibabe who brought this country to its knees?

Hell hath no fury like a celebrity, with advertisers to please, crossed--in this case, Dave L., no matter how justified.

Since he's learned that McCain did other interviews after doing a no-show on Letterman, the latter has been publicly dishing the former. As here:
The Top Ten Questions People are Asking The John McCain Campaign
#10 “I just contributed to your campaign – how do I get a refund?"
#9 “It’s Sarah Palin –- does this mean I’m pars’dent?”
#8 “Can’t you solve this by selling some of your houses?”
#7 “This is Clay Aiken. Is McCain single?”
#6 “Do you still think the fundamentals of our economy are strong, Genius?”
#5 “Are you doing all of this just to get out of going on Letterman?”
#4 “What would Matlock do?”
#3 “Hillary here –- my schedule is free Friday night.”
#2 “Is this just an excuse to catch up on napping?”
#1 “This is President Bush –- what’s all this trouble with the economy?” -

It is amazing Letterman had a good comment about this in that if the first string quarterback is out where is the backup? If the Mccain campaign is so unsure of Palin filling for McCain during the campaign,, I should feel comfortable with her fillig in as Pres during a crisis because?

THOMNH62, would you feel as free to call Obama or any other black person in this, a public forum, a n*gger?
Reply
Perhaps you would. But if you wouldn't--and in any case, of course--you should avoid other derogatory epithets, including those based on sexual preference.
You don't "own" human sexual expression, you know.
You're appetites aren't its measure. -

Eagle, what about a tender slap? (Oxymoronic?)
Reply
What you're saying about AC is that a person who doesn't embody or salute a traditional female or male role is inauthentically male or female.
You don't forfeit gender by not acting "feminine" or "masculine." And its insulting to "insult" people by saying they do or have.-

OK, a tender slap is probably called for since there are times I make a wise uncalled for crack about some thing. I'll take it like a real Eagle and turn the other cheek....

how stupid is McCain? he dumps on letterman then goes on another show on the same network? what an idiot.
Reply
he says its urgent he get back to DC, then stays in NYC an extra day. then he gets there after everyone has been working on the problem for a whole week.
and here's the kicker: on monday McCain said he had received the Paulson plan. on Tuesday, when asked about it, McCain said he hadn't read it yet. and get this, its only three pages long. so if McCain thinks his role is soooo important, why couldn't he find the time to read THE most important three-page document?
and now we know there was a bipartisan agreement on the table to end this mess...until McCain showed up. and now where are we?
also, his campaign has not been suspended. his offices in battleground states are up and running and never stopped working. and he has only pulled TV and radio ads from selective markets while in most places, his ads are still running.
and then he tried to duck the debates, a move that no one is in agreement with.
in the last few days McCain has really exposed himself as a liar and politician who obiously cares more about winning-at-all-costs than he does about america.-

Let's talk about Monkey boy. Let's talk about how he won't say waht happened to the $150 million of cac money. Let's talk about how he's a dufus and said the country 's fundamentals are strong after blasting McCain for it. Obama is a Dufus and anybody who votes for him is an empty vessel.
