Palin is news of fresh disaster. It's hard to imagine how she got to be governor of Alaska. If I was to give her the benefit of the doubt, I think she's been so coached on regurgitating Repug talking points that she gets confused and doesn't respond to the question. She would be better off just responding with her own opinions. At least then we might get complete sentences. We might not like what she says then either, but she would look less confused. That she is willing to pander to her handlers in an attempt to full fill her ambitions is not the signature of someone who knows herself and not someone we need as VP.

You are exactly right...it also does not represent the "successful woman" that the american women have in mind. Palin's priority is "Ambition First". It is obvious by her comment that she didn't even give it a second thought when Mothballs McCain asked her to be VP. If they are elected (God help us all) Liberman is going to be pulling her strings in the background and this is not a good role model for women.

That would be true if she had any. To have an opinion about something, you have to be at least vaguely familiar with the issue, which she isn't. She shows the same lack of curiosity as George W. Bush. She seems to have lived in a bubble in the past few years where very little of the wold's events penetrated. That' was probably fine as long as she was running her tiny little village and then state, but not now when she wants to be vice president.

It appears Palin remembered her talking points in the middle of her answer but some thought disorder prevented her from coherently putting it all together or sorting out proper sentence structure. This woman is more of a train wreck every day.

I am constantly reminded of that scene in Fargo where Marge Gunderson is interviewing the two hookers whenever I see Palin answering questions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRu6_mJiVAo -

I thought Dan Quayle was a bad choice for Vice President in 1988. To be sure, he made a number of goofy errors. However, I do not recall anything so pathetic or stupid rolling off Quayle's tongue that comes close to this line of idiocy. She puts the "rude" back in "rude American." I can only imagine how Lou Dobbs would have handled this little excerpt.

She's an insult to the intelligence of the American people.

Anyone who would vote for John McCain needs a brain transplant, and you're right david_nwpa, she would be much worse than Dan Quayle.
HELLS BELLS, John McCain could have asked Hillary Clinton. At least she has good sense and is a fan of his! -

Republicans have revealed their ultimate moment of sexism. Take a smart yet undereducated and underprepared woman and give her the sink/swim test for vice president. No matter what your party affiliation or feelings about Palin, she didn't deserve this, the office of the President doesn't deserve this, the American people don't deserve this old fashioned, sexist, mediocre quality of thinking. It's worse than Dubby. We can do so much better.
