Quick study or not, she doesn't know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin should conditions warrant her promotion.

I can't say I'm surprised. I think we can all understand why Gov. Palin has been kept under wraps for so long. Her rhetoric is indefensible. Her grasp of the most critical topics of our age is woefully shallow. The people who have been staunchly backing her through this campaign are rather conspicuously quiet about the Couric interview.

Kathleen Parker has my respect because she realized that trying to spin this situation into a victory is impossible, and frankly, irresponsible.
