Darn right the people are angry and both parties know it. That's why they threw the people some bodies to tear apart hoping that will satisfy them. The bodies I'm referring to are congressman who are retiring this year or still have a couple of years left in their terms and those whose home districts are so solid in the pocket that even losing a few thousand votes over this will not cost them their seats. The ones who were allowed to vote against it by the caucus leaders were the ones 'on the bubble' this election year. Congress may be an arrogant bunch but they are not stupid in some matters.

What I find odd is that Red State America has remained silent ... no outrage ... no protests.

Even as they pride themselves ... and proclaim themselves as Christian Conservatives ... they have looked the other way as this Administration has turned a blind eye to Unrestrained Greed, Perversion of Generally Accepted Business Practices, and Unaccountability.
Why don't Christian Conservatives throw their collective weight behind ... and speak their minds to DEMAND that businesses AND Government ... be aligned with SOME Moral Standard.
But what do you hear from Christian Conservatives ... all 120 Million of them? ...
"We support Sarah Palin."
If ever there was a clearer sign that The American Christian Conservative is nothing more than a hardline, right wing political PAC ... I can't imagine what it would be.

I think for some, they're waiting to be told by their party of choice what position to hold. Once it's simplified and fed through the echo chamber and given a news cycle to penetrate, you'll witness more vocal opinion.

For me, I lack confidence that our government is capable of producing a good result. I'm expecting any resolution to have input from the people who created the mess or stand to profit from it, so my opinion either way is inconsequential.

I never even saw the first one. How many are there? I think Palin is pretty and I don't mind that she was from my state or that we went to college together way back when. The hunting thing doesn't bother me either because lots of women hunt and fish in the west. It's not likeability; I simply think there's not enough "there" there, especially when contrasted with Biden.

I'll support Main Street over Fraud Street any time. We have been in a recession all year and now it's becoming a depression. We were talking about a bailout and the welfare queens profiting from it months ago. And now here it is. Another opinion.....

I am not going to assume that it is safe to allow the Bush administration to manage the funds appropriated by Congress for the bailout. Based upon his history of deception upon the American people and Congress, Bush cannot be trusted with a blank check for $700 Billion. In banking, credit is determined largely by past performance; he has failed to show adequate credit worthiness.

The solution I propose is for Congress to place the funds under the management of a nonpartisan Special Master answerable to Congress or perhaps a commission selected by Congress.
