As I watched this election cycle, I've been reminded again and again of the movie The Candidate, in which Robert Redford portrayed an idealistic young man who is gradually turned into a real politician by the time he is elected. It's so sad. Politicians accuse each other of being corrupt when, in reality, it's the system that is corrupt and that corrupts.
