Obama Wants NRA Ads Banned »
Posted By RedRiverJ 1 year, 2 months ago in Political NewsEarlier this week, the National Rifle Association's Political Victory Fund released a series of radio and television spots to educate gun owners and sportsmen about Barack Obama's longstanding anti-gun record. In response to the NRA-PVF ads, a clearly panicked Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) are doing everything they can to hide Obama's real record by mounting a coordinated assault on the First Amendment.

It just shows that the NRA is not really concerned about "Gun Rights" ... they are simply a magnet for every American who sees Government as Bad.
Obama has no interest in gun legislation. He said as much in the debates. He doesn't want to be involved with Red Herring Hot Button issues that take his energy away from issues that really matter ... like fixing the mess 8 years of George W. Bush have given us.
This is what I like about Obama ... he's stayed away from all these 'Wedge Issues' that divide our nation ... that divide us as people.
"Old School" Republicans like Johnny Shapeshifter McCain try to knock Obama is this same, tired old way ... and Obama just doesn't fall for it.
In fact, Johnny Shapeshifter USED to behave like Obama ... he USED to be a Straight Talker ... but now embraces these Divisive Tactics ... (Strategy? ... LOL!!!)
Look, the Morally Vacant ... those who call themselves Christian Conservatives ... will say or do ANYTHING to keep Obama from being elected.
How do we know this cabal is Morally Vacant? Because of what they say.
How can you claim to be a Christian but who fight FOR war ... fight FOR Republicans who Lie, Cheat, Steal ... who FIGHT to keep kids from getting Health Care ... Defend those who pollute ... Defend those who commit harm to our Constitution ... ... ... ?
See?
The fact is, Barack Obama is the ONLY candidate talking Moral Values.
Barack Obama laid out his whole persona in the debate ... we know that he wants to return America to it's Christian Values.
REAL Christian Values.
NOT the FAKE Christian Values of those who threw Jesus under the bus and replaced Jesus with a Morally Vacant Hardline Political Ideology.
So ... keep throwing up your Red Herrings. They only work for those who already hate Government ... in other words ... they only work for those who hate The United States of America.
They only work for those who can only see America as great if She can invade another nation.
They only work for those who can only see America as great if She forks over her treasury to the wealthy.
Think about it ... when all you can do is push Fear and Smear ... you really don't have anything positive to give America.
Sad.

Extremist Right Wingers are STILL cheering on George W. Bush!!!
Look, I know my fellow Christian Conservatives are good people ... deep down.
But in my position, I work with Christian Conservatives every day. They simply do not care about this nation.
And that's why they STILL support George W. Bush.
They don't care about the mess in Iraq.
They don't care that he LIED to get us into that war.
They don't care that he perverted the Judiciary.
They don't even care that he instituted ideological incompetence into every Government Agency.
Why don't they care?
Because my fellow Christian Conservatives have just ONE agenda for America that they truly care about.
Stuffing the Supreme Court with Extreme Right Wing Justices. And George W. Bush has fulfilled this aspiration.
That's IT!
Christian Conservatives don't care if our economy implodes ... if we start 10 more wars ... or even if we stay in Iraq for 100 more years.
That's why my fellow Christian Conservatives are so fond of using Fear and Smear ... because the simply do not care HOW they get what they want ... it's all about 'The End Justifies the Means'.

I am certainly not going to vote for a mealy-mouthed senator who would sell his soul to become president.
Reply
Someone who has changed his views on every issue so many times that he now doesn't know where he stands on any of them.
Someone who was tortured and spoke out against torture for years and now suddenly supports it.
And I will never vote for a woman who feels that teaching Christianity should be publicly funded. The Constitution is quite clear about that. A woman who believes that the Earth, despite mountains of research, is only 6,000 years old. A woman who preaches ABSTINENCE while her own daughter is knocked up outside of wedlock.
If she truly followed the bible LITERALLY as she is claiming to do, she would stone her daughter to death. Why hasn't she? Because she is a hypocrite. A fool. A liar. And someone who should NEVER be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

You know, I actually liked the man until he did this. Even the smarmy pretense that the recreational AK-47 is the same as the fully automatic assault rifle in the acceptance speech seemed more like it stemmed from ignorance than misrepresentation.

But Obama's website comes right out and says he wants to permanently ban not only these, but many other popular sporting firearms.
Many citizens are so clueless, they seem to be under the influence of the bodysnatchers. Will they wake up in time?-

I agree with Obama. Guns kill. Period. You can have them but why do you need to recruit new members? What do you need advertising for? People who want to obliterate animals with machine guns don't need to recruit more people with machine guns. Those people will go to the NRA anyway. It's not like there are 5 or 10 different gun lobbies and you need to distinguish between them.

SUICIDE. NRA needs to address the increase in the number of shotgun suicides by white men. The numbers are rising yet the NRA never addresses this issues. In my area there have been 3 shotgun suicides comitted by white men who were hunters. NRA should be a responsible organization and find out why their members or potential members are killing themselves with the guns they are trying to protect.

so it is the NRAs fault that people who own Shotguns and cant handle the real world anymore take the cowards way out and just happen to use the gun the own to kill themselves ????? so is it the NRAs fault when a vicious evil person uses a gun to rob or kill someone ???? or should it be the person take blame for what they do with the gun they own???? how about acutally keeping the murders in jail or better yet actually killing them if they get the death sentence, and realizing that it is not the NRAs fault if someone is too much of a coward to deal with life and thinks its better to kill themselves and destroy their family in the process.

No one blamed the NRA for suicides. NRA SHOULD have suicides by shotgun part of their policy agenda. They are promoting something (a gun) that has the potential to kill a human being. They do not address the deadly consequences of the guns they promote.

Obama said that there are "two realities about guns" in the United States, one including lawful gun owners, hunters, and sportsmen and a second that involves the flow of illegal handguns and automatic weapons into cities such as Philadelphia, where they are used by "teenage gang-bangers."
Reply
"Surely, we can come up with a system that protects lawful gun-owners, but at the same time tries to do something about kids getting shot," he said. "That is, I think, the job of the president is to reconcile this tradition of gun ownership in this country, with some basic public safety concerns.
"The bottom line is this: You got a rifle, you got a shotgun, you got a gun in your house, I'm not taking it away," Obama said. "They can keep on talking about it, but it's just not true."
Why do Ya'll Republican want to keep guns in the hands of Gangs and Gang-bangers?

Right ... but the Propagandists ... the America Haters ... the Divisive Ones ... are going to keep pushing this issue ...

Why?
They hope to make votes for the least sophisticated, uneducated among our citizenry ...
It's a calculated effort to gain every possible vote.
But of course, it only highlights the Moral Vacancy that is the Modern Neo-Conservative .... and their supporters ... who defend a president who LIES to go to war ... and who makes every effort to politicize our Judiciary.
Can Obama heal these wounds perpetrated by these Extremist Right Wing Haters?
I don't know.
But I DO know that Johnny McCain will only continue to use these methods to gain and maintain power.

Chicago Tribune (Feb. 20 2004): Obama ... backed federal legislation that would ban citizens from carrying weapons, except for law enforcement. He cited Texas as an example of a place where a law allowing people to carry weapons has "malfunctioned" because hundreds of people granted licenses had prior convictions.
"National legislation will prevent other states' flawed concealed-weapons laws from threatening the safety of Illinois residents," Obama said.
More recently, Obama was quoted by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review in an article on April 2, 2008, saying "I am not in favor of concealed weapons. ... I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

Q: What do you call an unloaded rifle?

My point is, no politician has to take guns away to render them useless. In the last five years, I have watched ammunition prices double. Now, reloading supplies have caught up to that increase. Gasoline prices have also doubled in the last five years, and EVERYBODY is upset about that.
The problem I see is: When guns and ammunition are so expensive that the average citizen won't want them, the criminals will still see them as necessary tools of their trade. Just like truck drivers who are forced to pay exorbitant fuel prices or stay home.
Violent crime isn't about guns, it's about people. If the government plans to legislate morality, then we have a problem that only guns will fix. -

Just remember the 2nd Amendment guarantees all the other Amendments and 0bama is will start with the first and second Amendments. To reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban is a joke. Assualt weapons were banned in the 1934 national firearms act. They only want to ban guns that look like assault weapons. And he will do away with your right to carry a concealed weapon. There is no way I would ever vote for 0bama.

Wow every time Obama screws up somebody else is blamed.Reminds me of the Clintons, and if Bill's girlfriend had used an apron they would have got away with it.Hillary said it didn't happen, and when pressed by a reported she said if it proved to be true there would be hell to pay.Well the blue dress came back from lab.proving the allegations were fact.Who did that witch blame, none other than the vast right wing extremist.I guess a republican dragged her fat butt into the oval office, while another forced them to do the nasty.
