    S397 bill used in the ad is called, the Firearms Manufacturers Protection bill. It has to do with civil liabilites involving manufactures, dealers, and distributors and not the banning of guns. I could not find any amendment that refered to the banning of guns. The ad is false so I can see why Obama might be upset. My mother use to say "If you keep telling a lie it doesn't make it true, it just makes it a bigger lie"'.

      S.397 deals with gun manufacturers liability when someone uses one of their products to rob, kill or maim. That is the equivalent of saying that Captain Morgan and General Motors are responsible when some drunken a$$ drives his Corvette onto a crowded sidewalk and kills somebody. Apparently Senator Obama thinks that would be OK, because he voted against the bill.
