Sort of odd that all the focus groups and national polls, including one that was overwhelmingly Republican, says just the opposite. But then, I find it odd that otherwise rational people could listen to proven lies and still think McCain has any honor left.
He can't be trusted, nor does he have the composure and steadiness that is needed in a commander-in-chief. As soon as the Bushies presented their bailout plan, McCain went berserko. When the Russians invaded Georgia, he also went berserko, calling it the most critical foreign policy crisis in 25 years. 25 YEARS?!?!? Egads, what about Desert Storm, 9-11, the invasion and occupation of Iraq? He is angry, hot-headed and makes spur of the moment decisions that he later has to recant when he has cooled off. Do you really want his finger on the nuclear trigger?!
He can't be trusted and his word is NOT any good. He has changed positions so many times on so many issues that it would be a neat board game to see who could correctly guess where he stood on particular issues at particular times.
He owns upwards of 13 automobiles and over half a dozen houses, does no shopping for food, never buys his own gasoline and wears 500 dollar loafers. That may be "one of us" if you are among the very rich, but it isn't "one of us" for the rest of us. As a Vietnam Veteran, I would like to be able to say he is "one of us," but he has voted against every effort to raise the funding and level of care of the VA. He also was opposed to, and voted against, the new GI Bill.
"One of us?" Don't think so.
Won the debate? In your dreams!

You have to realize the mentality of the author & his followers. Just look at the 1st 3 ponts:

FTA: 1. McCain ... was sharp, on point and looked good -- good enough, that is.

He LOOKED good? So much for substance.

        2. If the debate was held before the elite faculties of Harvard and Columbia, schools Obama attended, he would have won hands down. But this debate was held before the American public.

IOW, educated, knowledgeable people who judged on content & substance would say Obama won.

FTA: 3. Obama was too smooth, too smart.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but isn't a SMART President preferable to someone with whom we'd like to have a beer?

Anything else the author said basically goes down hill from there.

It's interesting how the liberal left keeps on about how many cars a conservative candidate owns, how many houses, etc. And Obama is just how wealthy? VERY!!! All the Washington politicians, including the Democrats, are ALL VERY WEALTHY PEOPLE! Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive. As for these type of questions, when was the last time a Democrat was asked anything of the sort? None of us will ever live long enough.

            I wouldn't consider $160,000 a year wealthy...that's what a Senator makes.

In comparison, McCAIN is very wealthy. You may not be good at math, but 160,000 dollars a year is not WEALTHY.

              tsalagiman1,

You need to get your facts straight. Obama grew up in a single parent family. He worked his way up, attended Harvard & Columbia on his grades & loans. He graduated at the top of his class with ticket to just about anywhere he wanted to go.

What did he do? He decided to stay in his community & organize for the poor, those who lost their jobs due to the reckless policies of the Republican Congress from '94 on & Bush Whitehouse/Congress/Judiciary since 2000.

And his wife also turned down lucrative law firms to become a community activist & mother.

You may be right - they may be rich now. But they weren't wealthy enough to pay off their student loans until AFTER the book deals.

And, BTW, Jesus was a community activist; Pontius Pilot was a governor.

That was really a glossed over version of Obama life,is that all you know?
You have nothing no real details, nothing. You know virturally nothing about Obama. I'll bet you can't even name any of his alias he's used in his life.

Also, the Jesus thing is really lame mostly because Jesus wasn't a community activist but I'll tell you who was a community activist.

Hitler was a community activist and FDR was a governor. As a matter of fact, the Germans tossed Hitler in jail for his community activism and that's where he wrote his famous book.

Btw, Hitler was a community activists and FDR was a governor.

                  Ok;
that was strident; and incoherent; and of course total nonsense.
Papwolf listed facts; you twaddled about Hitler.

But on the plus side, -
err, on the plus side, -
I didn't spot any spelling errors! and you had nice paragraph construction.

What did he do? Did he distribute milk and cookies to the poor, or was he organizing brown-shirts? There are all kinds of community organizers. I bet the KKK organized communities too. They tried to do some community organizing in my city too until they were politely asked to leave and not come back.

In case you forgot, Hitler was ELECTED Chancellor of Germany - NOT a community activist, more like a president. He passed laws that shifted power to him & gave him ultimate power, kind of like what the Bush administration has been trying to do.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Here is a comparison of McCain's and Obama's wealth."

"Earlier this year, the nonpartisan Sunlight Foundation did an analysis of the net worth of each of the 535 members of Congress based on their personal financial disclosure.

Guess which one is worth about $36 million and which one is worth $799,000?"
                      Average net worth in 2006:
                      John McCain: $36,431,099
                      Barack Obama: $799,006
"According to my trusty calculator, that means McCain's net worth is more than 45 times greater than Obama's."

In case you don't like Huffington Post, go directly to the source. It has interesting comparisons between the net worth of the lawmakers (you can check any of them) and the average American. It also has a comparison between the average lawmaker and the person you've selected. It's instructive.

                        This is McCain:

Obama let him off the hook on a LOT of points....He needs to be on the ATTACK more.

McCain looked like a ****y little child and in no way "presidential"
