McCain's October Surprise: Shotgun Wedding »
Posted By Aidenag 1 year, 4 months ago in Political NewsIn an election campaign notable for its surprises, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice- presidential candidate, may be about to spring a new one — the wedding of her pregnant teenage daughter to her ice-hockey-playing fiancé before the November 4 election. "It would shut down the race for a week," said a McCain insider.

FTA: "The Democrat has already declared Bristol’s private life off-limits as far as his campaign is concerned."

If the wedding takes place as rumored, then I guess Bristol's private life is not off-limits as fare as the Republican campaign is concerned.-

I somewhat reluctantly propped this article. The wedding story was attributed to an unnamed "McCain insider," which is suspicious. I don't know much about the reputation of the UK Times, but I do know that the column this article is from is a gossip column.

If the story is true, it will be a huge political gamble for the McCain campaign. It will look very much staged and calculated, or even borderline cynical. I'm sure there are at least some voices of reason in the campaign who would understand this.
On the other hand, the selection of Gov. Palin as V.P. candidate was pretty calculated and borderline cynical as well. It seems even more so now after weeks of her media avoidance, as well as the disappointing results of her few high-profile interviews.
So I'm conflicted about the wedding story. Part of me says, "c'mon, they wouldn't really do that. Another part of me thinks, "I wouldn't put it past them!"

Whoop-d-do! They'll try anything, but when the nation sees that Tina Fey is smarter than Sarah Palin on Thursday evening, the sled race will be effectively over, even if the McNasty gang tries to suspend the election because their team's not ready! Turn out the lights, the party's over!

What will they think of next?
“It would be fantastic,” said a McCain insider. “You would have every TV camera there. The entire country would be watching. It would shut down the race for a week.”
I've got an even better suggestion - to shut down the race for ever!
Lets just set up a nice mock-up [cheap-hire look-alikes] of McC and what's her name having sex [or some incredible simulation of it] in the back of a limo with a black Obama look-alike driver and make sure there's some white powder scattered around too and a web-cam.
That should it for those gullible cons who tried to pull a similar stunt a few months ago with some Larry something..
Of course that was a gay scenario but it wasn't 2-birds with 1 stone..-

Exploiting anything they possibly can. There'll be a blog entry posted somewhere that Obama, in his baby-killing-bloodlust, tried to himself perform an abortion on Bristol Palin, as he thought it would garner him votes from the pro-choice crowd.

I had a friend in high school who used to poke fun at pro-lifers. "Why, I'm NOT pro-choice! I'm pro-abortion! I believe we should abort ALL children! We don't need choice!" -

This is the stupidest, most mind boggling stunt I've heard yet in this, the wackiest year ever in politics. If there is anybody left on the planet that's not laughing at the US, they will be soon. Americans can't be that mindless...or can they?
