There is no evidence for any of the thousands of gods con men have created to fleece you sheeple in the hundreds of thousands of years con men have been fleecing idiots.
I hope the instant before you brainwashed sheeple take your last breath, you realize there is no heaven, hell, jesus, angels, soul, and what ever else you inbred tent revival brainless snake handling freaks believe in, and you realize at that moment your worthless lives have been spent handing over the one life you had to a bunch of lies and con men.-

Consider this: if religious idiots are wrong, and there is no heaven, what have they lost in the afterlife? Nothing. But if YOU, in all your wisdom, are WRONG and there is a hell, what have you lost? Everything. You might want to rethink your position.

"what have they lost in the afterlife?"

They would have missed their real life waiting for an alterlife!
I know many people do believe in any kind of alterlife and still enjoy this life (my own brother among them), but I know many who's only purpose seem to be preparing for the next life. -

This argument is known as Pascal's Wager *It has several flaws*
Firstly, it does not indicate which religion to follow. Indeed, there are many mutually exclusive and contradictory religions out there. This is often described as the "avoiding the wrong hell" problem. If a person is a follower of one religion, he may end up in another religion's version of hell.
Even if we assume that there's a God, that doesn't imply that there's one unique God. Which should we believe in? If we believe in all of them, how will we decide which commandments to follow?

After you die you will be resurrected some day and you will face Jesus, the one who loved you and died for you, because he cared enough to pay for yours and my sins. According to you Jesus "loved you and died for you, because he cared enough to pay for yours and my sins". But if you happen not to believe blindly what you're being told then "you will be resurrected some day" just so Jesus can "say to you, 'Depart from me' ".

I don't see how anyone can believe that there is no God, I can go outside and look around at the mountain, the sky, the trees, and feel that God exists. He's the Creator. How can anyone doubt that? -

And I hope and PRAY that the moment before you draw your last breath that you realize that God is real, that He loves you and that He sent His Son Jesus to die for you and that at that point you will accept Him as Savior. Be assured of this - if you don't realize it the moment BEFORE you draw your last breath, you will be acutely of it the moment AFTER you draw it. Of course then your opportunity will be lost and hell will be suddenly very real to you.

But what if you're wrong? What if there's a brand new life that could be yours if you'd just open your eyes? What if there's peace that passes understanding and joy unspeakable and full of glory that you could have had? What if there's eternal life for the righteous, and eternal damnation for the unrighteous, and you miss it?
I'll take my chances that you're wrong. I like the promises in the Bible, and I like the life I live as a believer. It's a good life living for the Lord.-

Hubert - You apparently no little about the Bible or Christianity. To make a statement that you "think that Christian's need their own Bible" is pretty ridiculous. Who do you think the Bible belongs to? Are you stating that the entire Bible belongs to the Jews so somehow Christians shouldn't use it? Secondly, the Jewish people do not believe that the New Testament is part of the Bible. They only use the old Testament. Thus, the reason the Jews don't believe that Jesus is the son of God. I'm not even sure I have a clue what you're talking about with the statement "So many Americans quote the Bible that was written by the Jews". Yep. And so do Germans quote the same bible and Italians, etc. I don't even know what point you're trying to make with that.

Just ask one question before looking into all of this: Is the Bible today that proclaims Jesus is the Christ not good enough for you? you need more? was it not clear enough for you? If not...pray that he would open the eyes of YOUR heart!

"THE JEWS" as you put it, did not write the Bible. It was given by G/d. Did you know that Jesus was born a "JEW", lived his life as a "JEW" and died as a "JEW"? It was Peter who started the religion after Jesus died. So if you so much dont like the "JEWS", you might as well not like Jesus.

Per historical records from egypt the Exodeous was impossible as there were no slaves in Egypt. The ten plagues actually happened between 1200 and 600 bc. Due to a volcano erupting. The Arc would have had to also carry marine life considering that there would have been a massive desalinization of the planet's oceans. The bible is nothing but a book of myths.

You seem to have a little Anti-Semitic problem. Maybe you should word yourself more carefully, unless you're just an idiot. Apparently you don't realize that Christians ARE Jews. Christianity is a religion of belief that Jewish prophesy of a Messiah has already been fulfilled. Modern Judaism is a belief that Jewish prophesy has not yet been fulfilled.

If you people were truely Christians, you would remember not to judge. All people are equal under the eye of the Lord. Stop Judging. The bible was written and is the history of that period. You need to have a relationship with the Lord to do the right things. I don't think the bible should be re-written...

They are only COPYING the verses of the NIV version and making a hand-written copy of the NIV version of the Bible. Several people have commented that this is the case, but a lot of people still aren't getting it!! Tha article should have said that they are publishing a new edition, not a new version.

Forget the bible. It is superstition, myth and lies.God would not embrase the idea that one person is better than another person.Faith is believing in something you know is not true. They taught you in school that truth is backed by evidense, facts and witnesses, none of which are supporting the bible. The bible is a book of fiction and superstition. If we keep supporting this teaching ,we will soon loose our freedom.

You poor soul. I bet you are the kind of person that looks forward to Friday's and Saturday's but has never given a thought to eternity. You must be so very unhappy and confused. If you would read the Bible and keep an "open" mind, and ask God to open your mind and heart, He will let you understand what it is all about. And if you look into your history books you will see that there IS "evidence" of all truth in the Bible. Our country is based on freedom of religion and belief in God. Without it we would never have come as far as we are today. I will pray for you, my friend, as you are gonna need God one day and when that day comes, I hope you will know Him and recognize who He is.

Educate yourself. Above I posted three things that people used to try and repudiate the Bible by saying the Bible was wrong. Then the archaeologists, some trying to prove it wrong, found that the Bible was 100% accurate with what has been found by archaeology as of today.

There is currently digs uncovering Sodom and Gomorrah. I know one of the archaeologists and they have not done much writing on this topic yet. That will come out in a year or two. some of the information is on this site.

Your ignorance is underwhelming. The more that archaeologist dig the more of factual evidence is created that the historic writings in the Bible are exactly correct.

''Forget the bible. It is superstition, myth and lies''
Reply
have you ever read it, or have you let other people represent it for you?
''Faith is believing in something you know is not true.''
Faith is not belief so much as trust and expectation. you know, like having faith the Browns will win the Super Bowl someday-we don't ever believe it, just hope for it. Or having faith in a person who you think highly of.
of course you are allowed to have your own dictionary and definitions- I think I'm handsome
the bible defines faith as the expectation of things hoped for but not seen
so it's the things we don't see that are important [except for ham sandwiches] Love, trust, understanding, faith in our fellow humans are all fair examples
for instance we can see the results of love, the evidence of it, in a sense, but we cannot see love. But we feel it. We believe in it. And if you've ever loved anyone, you sorta have to have faith they love you back
so faith is not 'believing in something that you know is not true', anymore than real love is believing a lie...more like believing and hoping and trusting in something, which is a prerequisite for existence and the bread and butter of a worthwhile existence, love itself

I agree completely. I myself am a Christian and am saddened by the fact that so many of my fellow brothers and sisters don't know their history. To even truly understand Christianity, you must first dive into the depths of Judaism. You'd think people wouldn't have a problem with this as Jesus was a Jew! However, some people seem to want to cut you down over the Crucifixion. On their behalf, I apologize. The problem is, even Jesus forgave the specific people who crucified him. Therefore, we should also. =0)
And as for the bible being handwritten, they're only allowing them to re-write versus provided to them so that its appeal is more real, rather than computer generated. I think that's kind of cool! Now if it were allowing whoever to write whatever, I'd think we'd have some serious issues on our hands! -

You sound like a very happy person whose life is so full of meaning! I have a quote for you that came to mind after reading your posts:
The majority of mankind is lazy-minded, incurious, absorbed in vanities, and tepid in emotion, and is therefore incapable of either much doubt or much faith; and when the ordinary man calls himself a skeptic or unbeliever, that is ordinarily a simple pose, cloaking a disinclination to think anything out to conclusion.
T. S. Elliot
I would recommend that you put some of your anger aside and do some of your own research with an open mind. Start with some apologetics and then maybe move on to the science that absolutlely supports Christianity. The internet provides myriad resources. Umm. Yes the Old Testament was written by the Jews in Hebrew. The New Testament was written by the "Christians" or the followers of Jesus, after he died. The New Testament was written mostly in Greek. Several years after it was written, the Catholic Priest decided what books should go into the Bible. Even today the Catholics have a different Bible than Mainstream Christianity. (No I am not Catholic but I have Catholic friends, and I summarized the several hours of conversations we had.)

You're right, but a lot of Christian sects - particularly those in Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe (Coptics, Ethiopian Church, Eastern Orthodox), who are much older than even Anglicans, the oldest Western European offshoot of Catholicism - have more or less books in their canon than mainstream American Christians. That's why it's so important to understand that the Bible is, dare I say it, an evolving book. It cannot be firmly set in stone because people across the ages have given and taken from it.

I can see your point, but it doesn't hurt to read the other books. God, or at least wisdom, is there, too, and some late antiquity Jewish works that were left out of Christian canon had a great influence on Jesus' message. You don't get the "Holy crap!" correlations until you read them, though.

Honestly, a lot of the book choices were political at the time. I'm not trying to shoot you down, although it sounds like I am. -_-* (sigh) I understand that God works through his own means, but just because a book was left out doesn't mean it he didn't like it.

I am sure you know by now, that they are not writing a "New" Bible, but handwriting the Bible that exists - NIV version. Each person will be allowed to copy by hand a verse from the NIV Bible and Zondervan will publish this Bible. The Bible that exists today is for Christians and a new one is not needed.

"The Jews" did not "write" the entire Bible, nor did they "write" the entire Old Testement, they use the first five books of the Old Testement in their Torah, the ones believed to be the word of God as He revealed it to Moses. The rest was put together from various sources by Christians probably a little over a thousand years ago. There are no good or bad guys in the Bible as far as the humans are concerned, the only "good" or "bad" would be God and Satan. Why must people always be so nasty and ignorant when it comes to religion? If you call yourself a Christian, then you need to try to be Christ-like (hence the name Christian) and not be judgemental or nasty against other people. He believed in educating oneself in the word of God, also, by the way. He was also born, lived and died as a Jew and interceded for their forgiveness from God as one of His last acts before dying.
