I watched the debate in it's entirety, and from what I saw, it was no knock down , dragout out, but I can say that Biden was superior in the points he scored, However, Palin was much better at delivering her responses than she was with Katie Couric.

Biden did fine. Palin talked a lot, and spoke well.,..but she was more rhetoric than substance. From a personal perspective, I don't like people who are in that position who come off 'folksy'. I find it to be patronizing, and talking down to people. Same with the cutesy 'winks.' She's an adult engaging in a serious conversation, not a teeny bopper running for president of her senior class.

Don't you people realize the MAJORITY of her words were teleprompted?? When she had to speak first, she would attack Biden on something or another (all the while her people were choosing what answer to say). She then went on the debate, looking straight at the
words (which were very close to the camera lens). I took communication classes at a college in CT. This was LITERALLY in Media 101. Biden looked down once in a while, but his majority of time was looking at Gwen.
I have a PRETTY STRONG feeling that there's people that are getting paid by the Republican party to write non-sensical lies about Obama
and write all glory to a 'maverick' Mccain and another 'great' Republican - Dick Cheney

the debate went well. Sarah Palin sort of came ito her own re speaking in public. But Joe Biden was clearly the winner. Sarah Palin is mostly fluff and little substance , especially as a vice president, or G=d forbid, a president. She is absolutely NOT up for being a part of the administration of this country."Caribou Barbie " go home, Alaska calls !
    Obama / Biden '08

Debates have certain rules, format, questions and guidelines to be followed. Given this fact Palin did not win. When asked a question she either changed the subject or went back to her "comfort zone" as I heard so much of tonight. Which means she talked about whatever she wanted and avoided the real question. She didnt know the answer or how to answer the question. She was totally unprepared, not saying shes not bright, but that she cant be prepared in so little time. She was cute and funny, which would be cool if I was trying to date her. If im wrong let me know, I'll debate you

she caught him flat footed in lie after lie he voted against obama on so meany things that now he says he voted with obama. the press is going to have a field day. I don't think she was talking down to anyone she just lacks the holler then thou altitude that some people think someone in power should have. If we wanted a king we would still be British. There is no denying it all he did was stammer and stutter when she caught him ,she won no contest

Here Here Ray123456! How could anyone say Palin won the debate? She talked a lot. But just like her interviews.... When she didn't know the answer, she changed the question. Biden, on the other hand, treated the debate like a debate. He actually answered the questions. I was really waiting for him to call her on it, but he didn't. Too much of a gentleman! Or should we call that diplomacy - acting Presidential maybe? This may seem petty but I do believe the vice president of the United States should have good diction, also. She has a tendency to drop her "g's" at the end of words. I also found the cute little expressions and the wink to the audience to be condescending and absolutely inappropriate.

Maybe he didn't call her on it because of his mental lapses or because he was lying so much he was trying to think of a way to not dig himself in deeper

Palin did better than hoped for. Most of us where looking for another Saturday Night Live skit. But that said she brought no substance to the table. If I heard how Alaska was an "energy producing state, or John McCain is a Maverick" one more time with nothing to back it up I was going to puke. I'm glad Joe called her out on the Maverick stuff finally. John McCain hasn't been a maverick since 2000 He has walked lock step with Bush since then and promises nothing but more of the same.

I agree most of your comments Joe won the debate. Palin was just a cheerleader and talked her way around subjects. She didn't have an answer for alternitive fuels because Alaska's primary income is oil. If demand for oil drops they have nothing. If Exxon doesn't get the 4 BILLION DOLLAR TAX BREAK IT HURTS ALASKA! If Barack and Joe disagreed in the past that's a good thing. My wife and I have been successful and worked togeather yet dissagree on a regular basis. We agree on what we want to accomplish but different views on how to get there. Thats what I see with Joe. Palin was talking down to us in her cutsie way. I hate that wink crap reminds me of a used car saleman[have I got a deal for you]

I found someone who was more like middle American and less like Washington and I was impressed. Mr. Biden was clearly
short on substance other than he kept bringing up George
Bush who clearly is not running. This is 2008 and Mr.Obama
and Mr. Biden can't seem to move forward. I agree Mr.
Bush has sure had his problems but lets not limit these
debates to George Bush. John McCain is his own man and
speaks his own mind as we have all seen by the way he dosen't
        toe the party line.
Mavrick is a bit silly but has a lot of truth to it. I
believe these two (McCain and Palin) are the change this
country needs at this time. Hollywood and the Media
have lost all creditability and the left wing liberals
are getting histarical with trashing this lady. All this
mud slinging does not impress me and I keep waiting for
Mr. Obama to put a stop to this trash talking aimed at
Mrs. Palin. I read today where Sarah Bernhart talked
of black people gang raping Mrs. Palin if she came to
New York. This is so wrong and the dis-respect shown
by Obama supporters if rewarded will continue to
spread this rotting, discusting atmosphere that is
so evident in today's liberal media. The democraatic
party is even discusting many of their own.
        God Bless Us All.

I recall the days before all this gotcha mentality when
people were civil and respectful of each other. I was
glad Mr. Biden did not try to trash Mrs. Palin last night
as the other democrats and media have been doing for so
long and I thought Gail also was respectful of Mrs. Palin.
The debate impressed me mostly because of the behavior
of these three people and the fact that there was little
bias.Debates more fair when the media is not in there
editing out things they don't want people to hear like
they did with Mrs. Palin last week. I appreciate honesty
and fairness in debating formats "like last night."Gail did
a great job and I applaud her for being fair although
she is a Obama supporter. GOOD DEBATE

All the negative things Mr. Biden said about Mr. Obama
this past year, did he believe them at the time or was
he just trying trying to further his own candidacy?
The fact that he saw no leadership then makes me
question his creditability now and brings into question
who the real Joe Biden really is.

Mr. Biden and Mrs. Palin both did better than I felt they would, they both were well rehearsed. Mrs. Palin came
across more comfortable and seemed to own her convictions.
Mr. Biden seemed a bit stiff and unsure at times, He
didn't seem as relaxed and comfortable as she was.
It was a good debate, fair other than when Mr. Biden
kept forgetting this was 2008 and George Bush was not
running. I would like to hear the Obama campaign get
on with it and leave Bush out of this campaign. When
they can't find any way of moving forward it is kind
of scary that they may continue to use the past
for their excuses whenever they are having problems.
George Bush is not John McCain and somebody needs to
explain that to the Obama campaign so they can get
on with this and tell us positive things going
forward. Turning only backward makes it very hard
        get any where. LET'S ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

I thought the debate was interesting. I watched only to see what was really said, because when you read things later, the media is so biased on Obama. When I have listened to Obama, its almost like he is speaking gibberish lies..what he says doesn't match his track record! Palin did great except her winking was very unprofessional and her slips into slang didn't seem right as compared to other women of state, she could use some grammar or presentation lessons. Keep in mind though that she has been leading Alaska and it does help to speak to people in their manner of speaking. What bothers me is that people simply like to attack rather than listen and look for what good things a person has to say. In presidential candidates I do not find any good thing in either when they have to run smear and finger pointing campaigns rather than address the nation with answers that give us confidence we will have a sound leadership that will guide us out of the troubled waters we are coming upon. We need a captain, not a sailor with a dream!! This is the president of the United States we are electing! Personally, I've watched Ron Paul stand up to congress and give an intelligent speech with solutions before his NO vote, and I know of many who are writing him in on the ballot...that's where my vote lies too..we need intelligent guidance and strength in the financial arena as well as war, foreign policy, and all the other critical areas we are lacking in .. HE HAS THAT...well rounded. I don't see that sense of lets get America back on track urgency in the 2 running and the vp choices combined!
I see agendas and dreams of what they want to do overruling what truly needs to be done..so our budget will just be bent to their agendas instead of fixed! They all talk the talk, but only Ron Paul will walk the walk! Mark my words.

gonna? thinkin? doin? Civil War General McClellen?
More power for the VP? No one thinking responsibly and clearly could in good conscience vote for her and McCain. She would be one heartbeat from the Presidency. Mc Cain is 72 years old. Consider how the offoce of the presidency ages people. This is a tragic mistake. We are involved in two wars, financial chaos, 40 million without health care, over 600,000 unemployed and we would have a cutsey, cheerleader, Hee Hee, Ha Ha, caribou Barbie in there. The state of Alaska has 100,000 fewer people than Jacksonville Florida. She carries that infant off and on airplanes and all over the place. What kind of life is this for the baby? Where is the baby when she is all over the place for days and days. I understand working mothers, I am one, however, when they are newborn most mothers are with them longer than 3 days before returning to work. It's like she is trying out for a beauty pagent, high school prom queen etc. We have to be serious now. This is a travesty.

I saw that too, Mr. Biden, Hillary and quite a few others who smeared Obama previously all of a sudden on his bandwagon. There are other agendas going on that the public isn't aware of due largely to media bias! Makes on wonder what is going on behind those closed door phone calls!

I hope The Windfall Tax Kid is not sent to negotiate for us. She can't seem to stay on topic. I can just hear her telling a Russian delegation that she doesn't want to talk about missile defense systems in Eastern Europe, but she will talk about how she is an energy expert and is proud to work for Flip Flop Johnny because he's a "maverick."

Well I have to get my middle class self up and moving as I have
a job to go to. No one pays my bills but me, I will be driving
my car a 1999 Buick, I have been a small business person in
Michigan for 25 years and love my state but also am aware
Michigan is not a friend of small business, who is the states
largest employer. We are a family divided by small business and the U.A.W. but united in our vote for McCain because of
trust, experience and the unfair left wing media bias of
        Mrs. Palin and her family.
