Did your mother drop you on your head? It was the cons who dismantled Glass-Steagall and pushed for and got de-regulation of our finance system to create this mess. That is a con "core Principle" isn't it? De-regulate, de-regulate, let the "invisible hand" of the market handle it etc. etc. That core principle gave us the great depression and the Savings and Loan crises in the 1980's. The cons finished dismantling Glass- Steagall in 1999 and now we have a financial crises brought about because commercial banks have been allowed to leverage capitol with mortgage backed securities. If that was disastrous 70 years ago, why would anyone think that it would work now? Look around, are con economic policies increasing income for ordinary Americans? Nope. Are con economic policies creating more jobs for Americans? Nope. Con economic policies have been a disaster!! BTW, You do know that the Bushies are all CONS, do you not? McCain (the "de-regulater") and Sarah "Annie Oakley" Palin are also cons.
The pork was stuck in this bill to persuade the cons to support it. It is, after all, a con "core principle" to cut taxes (especially for the few makers of children's wooden arrows).
History is repeating itself once again. The cons put our country in a huge financial mess and the dems have to clean it up.
Amazing that people, sometimes with a perfectly straight face, will blame the dems and liberals for the failings of policies championed and implemented by the cons.
