Lots of elderly hide their actions from family. Unless you've got a court order to take over her affairs, there is nothing you can do about what an elderly family member does, nor can you force them to let you know their personal business.

i AGREE,WHERE WAS HER FAMILY. I HAVE TO HELP TAKE CARE OF MY ELDERLY MOTHER WHO ONLY LIVES ON SOCIAL SECURITY. THE TAXES OIN HER HOME TAKE ALMOST 2 MONTH OF HER CHECKS.THESE COMPANIES OR SHOULD I SAY BIG WIGS, SHOULD SEE WHAT IT IS LIKE TO LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD WHERE YOU HAVE TO DECIDE BETWEEN HEATING, MEDICINE OR FOOD. THEN THEY'D KNOW.

she probably doesn't have any family left, she's 90 for goodness sakes. now that she has her house the hosp. could still find her mentally ill and keep her under their supervision...which means geriatric care.....that does suck, but that is the postion she is in. I don't think her loan should have just been "forgiven"....if they do that for her, they better be ready for the masses...they'll start shootin all over the place.

My thought too...no, she knew damn well she wasn't going to die...unless she's dumber than I thought...and I think she's a pretty crafty lady. It is just so unfair...the lender's response is idiotic and hopelessly harmful. What about those of us who pay our mortgage, even going without food to do so....???? Where is the hope for us, unless we play Drama Queen too?
