Ms Palin is now the attack dog...she showed us that she can memorize talking points when given a week and a half to study them (I'm sure I could, too, and I'm not even into politics and government) and yet not recall a single Supreme Court case other than Roe v Wade or recall a single publication she reads for information.
Republicans fall back on this kind of tactic when they know they're losing, and this year is no different.
Happened to McCain himself back in 2000, running against Bush, and in 2004 against Kerry and the swiftboaters. So it's no surprise Ms Palin, coming off a decent recital of talking points (but ever so weak on substance) is doing this.
The Republicans are getting desperate; 4 weeks to go, they're probably getting low on money, and they're behind, as of today, 10.5.08, in every major national poll, with the average spread of +5.9 percentage points. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls/
I expect it to get worse...who knows what garbage they'll try to bring up and try to pass it off as legitimate.
They can only try, but in the end it will hurt themselves... -

Chrisie Hinze lead singer for the Pretenders has gone on national TV and said she was a part of the group that tourched the ROTC building at Kent State.
Reply
For those undrer 40, that act is what brought the national guard out that did the Kent State shooting.
Anyone that has bought a Pretenders album is supporting an admitted terrorist. -

The culture of fear seems to resonate into the deepest nooks and crannies of the middle American marrow. It festers in the bones which form the skeletal system that supports the hopes of ALL of us. Therein lies the issue. Doubt is fear. Raise this fear, through insinuating a dubious character of someone and thus you've created "reasonable doubt." Character assassination via guilt by association is a logical move in the art of war. Unfortunately, the real "war," is second seat. Peace to all, especially our troops.

What is most amusing about the whole idea of America electing its first 'Black American President' is that White America has established an unprecedented system of government that is heralded and tested repeatedly. This system is a 'check and balances' of powers between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of power. What Black Americans has had to ENDURE (since approx. 1776, ) was racist people elected to occupy the seats in these branches of government. But people of good will and noble character such as Abraham Lincoln fought the elected powers with their own elected power and brought hope to my ancestors for which I'm grateful. If Obama is a "SUSPECT LIBERAL" don't you think our check and balances can allow you citizens that are uncomfortable with a black president at this time... to TRUST IN THE SYSTEM like your fellow black americans has had to through Confederate States of America, 2/3rds of citizen, back seat bus riding, segregation, Jim Crow, George McGovern, Bull Conners and many more etc... I suspect that many of European Americans still harbor racist genes in their "breeding". HERE IS A NEW TERM...REMEMBER YOU HEARD IT FIRST HERE!!! MANY WHITES STRUGGLE TO OVERCOME - "PIGMEPHOBIA" - Believe me, as a black american myself, I do not fully ENDORSE Senator Obama's views, but my comfort is based on the fact that if our beloved democracy / republic worked under more ADVERSE & TERRIFYING times in our history, then welcom to the 'RUNNING FOR OFFICE" Mr. Obama & Sarah Palin, we can handle both of you...for your policy views are not stronger than our GOD BLESSED SYSTEM & OUR CONSTITUTION!

Watcher, don't forget that the repugs have given us four supreme court judges who believe in the UNitary executive and loss of habeas corpus... only one judge away from throwing out the checks and balances, and arresting anyone without charges or legal representation!

If Colin Powell or Condie Rice were running for president, they would have my vote, but I am voting for McCain and it has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with Obama's socialistic policies with regard to the economy, health care, gun control, and abortion. It has to do with his close associations with communists and a 20 year history of attending a church that is racially devisive and states Goddamn
America. The Democratic party in general is moving more and more toward liberal extremism. With a democratic house and senate and democratic president there will be no checks and balances.-

More garbage. We live in the most socialist time in America's history thanks to George W Bush and his corporate welfare policies.
Close associations with communists? This isn't the 1950's. McCarthy is (thankfully) dead and people aren't quite as stupid as they used to be. Though you're living proof that some still are. -

Amazing you haven't noticed the extreme actions of the previous fear-filled government.Cheney alone jerked our constitution around, but is leaving office with billions in profit....and no worries about his actions or attitudes. Insanity has often been defined as repeating an action that doesn't work. Study history and know that no civilzation has survived/thrived using war and murder, lies and theft. This last regime proves it.

In fact the opposite is true. The Democratic Party today is somewhat right of the Republican Party of Eisenhower's day. Obama is not socialist or communist, but rather middle of the road, and certainly more willing to compromise with the right than I wish her were. Those who rant against socialism today are often not anti-socialism but anti-social. Personal greed has conquered every feeling of responsibility to one's neighbors or community.

. Colin Powell went and lied before UN about WMD, biological and nuclear weapons in Iraq. He was one person who could have prevented the invasion that destroyed a country and its people. So a liar is acceptable!
. Rice is the manipulator in chief of Bush Administration. This piece of garbage authorized torture and in 5 years has accomplished nothing. More countries and more people hate this country than before her.
I am glad none of these 2 are on the ballot. They would not have made it past a few primaries.
As for McCain & Lipstick, you don't want to watch TV on Nov. 5th morning and better be gone to some godforsaken place where there is no news outlets. I am saving you a heart attack!!!!-

Powell didn't lie, didn't you watch the proceedings??? He, like most everyone else, was fed inaccurate data from the CIA and other operatives. I betcha the WMD's will be discovered one day though, hidden quite well. Where are the chemical weapons used to gas the Kurds, there must be a cache of leftovers somewhere. Saddam didn't use firecrackers, did he?

Remove the L from Palin and you get PAIN! Sarah has been sleeping with a seccessionist--her husband has recently been active in a group that wants Alaska to secceed from the US. Could that be so that Alaska can keep all it's oil for itself? What happened to putting America FIRST?

May be a good idea, Alaska like Hawaii is far removed from the continental US. So, let them secede, grow their own oil and sell it back to us for a much cheaper price rather than have it stolen by the rich oil companies up there now.

McCain has far stronger ties to Jim Hensley and Charles Keating than Obama has to anyone you would like to tie him to. And he actually switched religions in a highly cynical move to court the support of Hagee - Well, until that video of Hagee calling the Catholic church the "***** of Babylon" started making the rounds that is.
Reply
And then Palin has been in bed with a secessionist her whole life and is ministered to by pastor Muthee, a witchdoctor.
The circumstantial association game is a lot of fun but if the McCain camp really tries to play it they will end up loosing. -

What? Do the republicons think the truth is made of rubber? This is really stretching it. Those were radical times and some of us did things we aren't real proud of. But it is 40 years later and much has changed. There are former radicals all over the place now in government. -

heads up...We don't know Obama very well do we, he's new on the scene, he has no real time spent record to look at. Over the last few years, Obama has associated and aligned himself with some very bad and corrupt people. He buddies around with a well known domestic terrorist.

So hey, I've got a great idea!
Lets run Obama for president of the United States of America. He's the perfect choice!
I'M SORRY,
AMERICA IS CURRENTLY ON FULL TILT AND COMPLETELY OUT OF ORDER. Please check back later...... If there's anything left to check back to, that is!
Mass insanity has set in, can our country survive it? I suppose time will tell....I'm not holding my breath, I'll tell you that!-

Well, we know the Republicans real well don't we, they have created the highest deficits in history, deregulated everything from meat packing to the banking system yielding great results like meat recalls, and bank failures, started an unnecessary war based on cooked intelligence, outed a CIA agent in an effort to get back at her husband, and let the man who was responsible for the largest terrorist attack on America in recent years to go free.

One of the most heinous negative as about McCain was making fun of him claiming he couldn't use a computer. Obama jumped right on the old "out of touch" bandwagon. McCain can't type because of his Vietnam war injuries. Even his running mate denounced the ad in a Katie the Crock Couric interview.

As usual too many people hold the president at fault for actions going on in the US. If any president acts in an illegal manner then it is congress' DUTY to hold him accountable. As too many people think the president has lied about so many things. The congress voted to allow him to do what he did in Iraq. The congress has the power to stop most anything he does. If he has broken any laws then the House of Representatives should impeach him. If not impeachable then support his actions. Congressional folk have every right to differ with the president as long as it stops at the shores. Running down America by any Congressional person should be reason for action by the ethical committees of the appropreiate chamber.

The congress has been controlled up to two years ago by the Republicans and they where completely complicit with the Presidents actions. The new Democratic majority doesn't have enough votes to bring any charges. What does all this equal? A free pass.

Chas, you idiot! At least the dems know they don't have the votes in the senate to convict an impeachment... so, why waste the time on the man who has done what we helped hang 11 Natzis and 3 Japanese for after WW2, preemptive war and water torture, respectively.
Reply
Yah, you sure have a false support of the troops when you support torture... and open the door for reciprocal treatment of our soldiers if captured! Un-American Pig!!!!!!!!
If its an ideological conflict as Dumya has called it, then why give away the moral high ground to the terrorists? I say again, you are an un-American pig!

Leave it to Palin to come up with such a sissy slap of a comment. I'm sure that Senator Obama has response teams to deal with such ankle biting attacks. It is times like this that leadership matters. Obama is working on ways to move millions of workers who's jobs have just vanished into new industries.

Once again Palin and the McCain campaign take things out of context. Here is what the New York Times article stated:
Reply
“A review of records of the schools project and interviews with a dozen people who know both men, suggest that Mr. Obama, 47, has played down his contacts with Mr. Ayers, 63. But the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers.”
Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. -

Sarah Palin has no right to criticize Obama for knowing Bill Ayers. Her husband had a long affiliation with Joe Vogler and his Alaskan Independence Party. His mantra was " I'm an Alaskan not an American". I've got no use for America or It's Damned Institutions". He advocated succession of Alaska from the US. He felt that Alaska should be an Independent Country or return to a territory. The party even broached the idea of becoming a Canadian State as they hated us so much. They idea of succession was not put on moratorium until they found out that succession terminates pensions ,Social Security and all financial support from the US.
Reply
She is a desperate hypocrite
Dr Ayers committed his offences in the 60's and 70's the last time he was active with the underground Weatherman Party Obama was 8 years old. By the time Sen. Obama and Dr Ayers met he was a Distinguished University Professor. He has received numerous awards for teaching and social activism over the years. It is ludicrous that as a nation that supposedly believes in forgiveness and rehabilitation that we continue to ignore the good that he now does and move past the mistakes of his youth. The Republicans are so despicable that they would dig up a Pharaoh if they thought it would help to win this election.
