Barack Obama was much older than 8 when William Ayers was photographed stepping on a US flag in 2001, for an article in which Ayers said he had “No Regrets” for his violent actions in the Weather Underground.
In fact, at the same time Ayers was in a Chicago alley desecrating the flag, he and Barack Obama were serving on the board of the Woods Fund together: PolitiFact | Obama served on board with Ayers.
Deborah Harrington, president of the Woods Fund, a philanthropic organization in Chicago, said Obama was a director from 1994 through 2001. That overlaps Ayers’ time as a director by three years. It also means Obama served with Ayers for the final months of 2001, after Ayers made his comments to the New York Times.

Yeah, you know that this stikes a chord when there are so many comments coming in about how "irrelevant" this is to the election.

The reason the Ayers / Obama / terrorism issue will not die out despite massive efforts to just make it go away, is the very fact that Obama has failed really come clean on the issue.
To most Americans this all smells very very very bad, and the fact Obama cannot come clean on it says a lot more than the huge effort to suppress it. -

Obama may not have been the one to step on the flag but he is the one that was refusing to wear a flag of the United States on his lapel and he was the one that refused to place his hand over his heart and recite the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. I believe that no one should be allowed to serve any kind of political office unless they have served in some kind of military branch for the United States of America.

Over 400 senators were in the same congress as that senator that molested his mail page...I guess they are all child molester now. How this worked in the pass is beyond me. How people listen to this drivel and said yes the GOPers are the ones for this country is just hard to understand.

Juts commonsense will tell ya that Obama isn't in any way connected to any radical groups. Thinking people knows that if Obama were to do anything of that sort he would be dead in the blink of an eye and so does Obama. I don't think giving the white population a reason to kill him is big on his agenda! It's not like he is hiding in the mountain with OSBL
Again this is STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. -

He was friends with the man and had his support for getting started in politics. He went to his house on more than one occasion. He co chaired the Annenburg Challenge along with serving on other organizations with him. And people want to think that a person as well known in Chicago no one would told Obama who he was and what he did. And you try to tout Obama as so smart but he didn't know who and what Ayres was.

McCain/Palin had better tread lightly when digging into Obama’s past , looking for dirt. Especially since they both have quite an assortment of skeletons of their own that could be shown the light of day such as: McCain’s support of KKK wizard David Duke, his refusal to support Nelson Mandela when he was imprisoned during apartheid, his ties to the Bronfman/Lansky crime syndicate in Arizona, Keating 5, Jack Abramhoff associates working as his fundraisers, his anger management problem, his compulsive gambling problem, his hidden health problems, his wife’s drug addiction and drug theft, her father’s jail time for breaking liquor laws, Palin’s Troopergate cover-up, her affair, her husbands ties to the Alaskan Independence Party, her knocked up teenage daughter, her exorcism by a witch doctor, BOTH of their nutjob preachers……get the idea? People who live in 7 glass houses (or a glass igloo) shouldn’t throw stones!

How is this going to help Americans struggling with losing jobs, losing homes, credit card debt, out of control gas and food prices and unaffordable college cost for their kids?

How will it help others who just last week lost their life savings?
Whatever Ayers did as a radical, it was the time when Obama was still wearing his diapers! -

ALL the politicians need term limits. ALL. Two terms Senate, three term congress and then GET OUT! Kennedy has been a waste of good air I might need. Schumer from NY. Byrd from WV Many others need to go. They cannot understand the day to day problems of the average guy because they CAN pay all their bills, they have enough money for food, they can get unlimited health care, they WILL have a retirement after ONE term! How about that!! So really, all of them need to go and we need someone else to be voted in. But until people start to read the newspapers, watch all the news, learn history and why we need to keep our freedoms (ALL of them) we will never get anything done in the USA. The time would be right for an Adolph Hitler type person to come out and any great speaker could stir up the country. We need change but not Obama and McCain is not much better. I'll vote for McCain and hope a new person comes up in the next 4 years. (Buy ammunition while you still can)

They don't need limits...they need to be voted out. If we as citizens were doing our job, we wouldn't have this mess. But, everyone wants to keep his/her legislature and not be responsible for what transpires.

Sorry, you say "Two terms and then GET OUT", and yet you'll still vote for McCain, who has long since overstayed his welcome?

That doesn't make sense. Why not vote for someone else if you don't like McCain or Obama. There are TWELVE or THIRTEEN names on the ballot.

Speaking of gibberish, that wasn't half bad stonerrick412. Were you stoned when you wrote it? I guess if you agree with ACORN and the other groups that Obama has allied with, this all sounds like a bunch of garbage. But to those of us who don't agree with communists or socialists, and who see this country going down the toilet because of people like Ayers and Alinsky, we are very much alarmed by the possibility that he could be elected as President of the United States. I don't need to use scare tactics as Obama has already made it clear by his actions what he believes in ... a permanent working class, re-institution of the draft, government political officers, radical intimidation techniques, and income redistribution via the tax system. I didn't say those things, he did. If you think the Patriot Act was bad, just wait and see what he comes up with.

Has anyone ever explained the context of the picture, particularly Ayers?
Reply
When you look at it, it's hard to simply say that Ayers is "standing on the flag", because you cannot see his feet.
Standing on something generally means you are standing on top of something, right?
Maybe "standing on" is the new "freedom fries" in the Con Culture of Lies of Incompetence. -

Today Obama is claiming he didn't know that Bill Ayers was involved with domestic terrorism...You bet, and I didn't know that cars ran on gasoline either. I'll tell ya, the cover-up lies are really starting to pile up from that Obama guy. No one believes a word he says anymore... Pure Democrat SPEWAGE.

Did you do background checks on all your college professors and/or employers? Did you dig deep and way back to things they did when you were still in grade school?
Reply
Ayers hasn't been involved in domestic terrorism for over 30 years! (If the weathermen ever were terrorists, the NYTimes article that I read from a link posted by WOLFIE explained that they made sure that no civilians were hurt by their bombs. The definition of terrorism I've read is a group that specifically targets and kills innocent civilians - by that definition the Weathermen were never terrorists.) -

Most of the people who are going to vote have already decided who they will vote for. It seems most of them will be voting for Obama. The Republican party is mostly the rich leading the ignorant. The faithful march blindly along, holding on to the elephant's tail, and wonder where that smell is coming from.

I have no doubt Obama has leftist socialist views as shown by his associations with Ayers as well as Rev Wright and the ACORN organization. There are just too many questions and Obama does not want to give any answers. Obama has given money to Acorn, Acorns PAC endorses Obama then says they are non-partisan. Obama has rcvd the second largest amount of money from Fannie and Freddie. Fannie/ Freddie give money to ACORN. Franklin Raines who ran Freddie rcvd 90 million in bonuses before leaving and now he is with the Obama campaign. How can anyone not see the problems here? In there zeal to hate Bush, people are willing to trust anyone who talks the talk. Its plain to see that Obama does not walk the walk. You don't have to like it but McCain has walked the walk all his life and does not hide from the truth.

"Obama has rcvd the second largest amount of money from Fannie and Freddie"...I didn't know those two agencies issued checks to individuals, I thought they just dealt with mortgages. From what I read they just buy mortgages and resells them on the secondary mortgage market as mortgage securities whose interest and principle are guaranteed against loss. So exactly how did these two agencies hand over money to Obama???

I am tired of MCCAIN AND PALIN! They have turned this election into a JOKE! I never thought that I would vote for a DEMOCRAT or an African American, but the tactics the MCCAIN campaign has put out is utterly shameful to my Republican Party. Bill Ayers is more of a patriot than those that traded our treasure and blood for a comfy condo in Dubai will ever be. By the way, I inspect images for a living, and I see no foot on "Old Glory". What I do see is 'the flag' at Ayers' feet. He has an inscrutable look on his face. He could be thinking: "Hey John, did you drop this?!".
Wussy wussy wussy...2007 times (at least) you've shone that you have no imagination, and not enough intellect to appreciate one that has. Pity. Mr.3006, how has a flap over a flag pin evolved into the Pledge Of Allegiance? I quit wearing my pin when it got hijacked by the neocons and religious fanatics.
I keep my yellow ribbon over my windshield, to remind me, not you. I don't need to wear it on my sleeve. Only the Nationalist types need to impress others with the trappings of patriotism. The rest of us can tell without looking.
Some of you get your panties all knotted up when freedom appears diametrically opposed to the trappings of patriotism, yet, strangely, applaud those that wipe their arses on it every day. -

McCain Plans Federal Health Cuts
Medicare, Medicaid Spending Would Be Reduced to Offset Proposed Tax Credit
By LAURA MECKLER -- The Wall Street Journal
John McCain would pay for his health plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid, a top aide said, in a move that independent analysts estimate could result in cuts of $1.3 trillion over 10 years to the government programs.
The Republican presidential nominee has said little about the proposed cuts, but they are needed to keep his health-care plan "budget neutral," as he has promised. The McCain campaign hasn't given a specific figure for the cuts, but didn't dispute the analysts' estimate. -
