Yeah, you know that this stikes a chord when there are so many comments coming in about how "irrelevant" this is to the election.

The reason the Ayers / Obama / terrorism issue will not die out despite massive efforts to just make it go away, is the very fact that Obama has failed really come clean on the issue.
To most Americans this all smells very very very bad, and the fact Obama cannot come clean on it says a lot more than the huge effort to suppress it.-

Why is this association never brought up? Do we want a man who was convicted of felony and conspiracy in relation to an act that was the most damaging to Presidential trust in this country's history to once again have access to the White House? Why has Sen. McCain never disavowed him? Isn't he ashamed of what this man did to our country?-

I think you guys need to be doing more to smear Obama, you are falling behind still in the polls. I think if you were to lie twice as much and smear say...three times as much that you could recover the lead, lmao.

Karly he has come clean, and major news sources have debunked this. The reason it wont die out is because people like you continue to want to make a big deal of it. Tell us all exactly what does Ayers stepping on the American flag have to do with he and Obama sitting on a board together. Can someone who uses half-truths and outright lies to smear the competition be considered "respectful?" That is what Senator McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin have done - and continue to do with their characterization of Senator Obama as "paling around with terrorists." This is not my opinion, this is what several reputable news organizations have concluded:

Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers." The Washington post, ""This whole connection is a stretch," The Chicago Sun Times, " Obama's Connection To Ayers Is A "Phony Flap".
If your claim that his minimal association with Ayers is a big deal, then tell us all how you feel about McCain voting with Bush more than 90% of the time. Ayers never killed anybody when he bombed buildings. Bush, McCain and Palin because they are associates of the same party have killed more than 38,000 people in Iraq and Afghanistan including over 4,000 precious American men and women. -

McCain was in the Navy when Johnson bombed our ship in the Gulf of Tonkin so I guess that would put him in cohorts with Johnson.

Obama has denounced Ayers' radical views and activities but the reason it will die out is the drop in the polls for McCain because of these tactics. The American people are tired of this kind of election tactics and only the Republican supporters want to hear this kind of negative campaign because they're desperate. Obama has a large lead in Florida, Ohio, and Virginia now. What does that tell you? -

No, this issue won't die because people like you keep pushing it. Obama won't come clean about it, you say? Clean about what? He had nothing to do with it. Have you ever served on any board? If yes, do you know what other board members did when you weren't with them? I've served on a board as a director, and I don't have the foggiest idea about what the other directors did outside the board meetings. Moreover, my concern was with the organization and making sure that everything worked well there, and I didn't even care what the others did in their own time.
You say that all this smells very bad. You know what smells bad? This smear campaign smells bad; it smells to high heaven. I just hope that Americans can smell it too and all this will backfire on the McCain campaign. In all my life, I've never seen as much filth in a campaign as I'm seeing now.
I'm not a Democrat, and I have no vested interest in this election, but I find it really disgusting.-

If I go to KKK meetings, never burn a cross or anything, but just attend the meetings on occasion and hang out with fellow KKK clansmen, then I can run for president and not be scrutinized for my associations?

Second, Obama did NOT attend any "meetings". AAMOF, when Ayers was doing his anti-Viet Nam protest, Obama was 8 - yes, that's EIGHT YEARS OLD!!!!
