Here's what everyday PATRIOTIC Americans feel in their heart are things that could bring down McCain ... and our nation ... ... ...
The Republicans have turned their back on Rational Economics ... have turned their back on the Middle Class.
They don't say that outright ... but nearly all Republicans are required to march lock step with the economic theory known as Trickle Down.
Trickle Down Economics ... first mentioned by Ronald Reagan ... this economic theory is Clear ... give ever more money to those who already have the MOST money ... the wealthiest ... and HOPEFULLY ... excess money will 'Trickle Down' to the Middle Classes.
Not only is this a Morally Vacant economic theory ... it simply does not work.
The ONLY thing Trickle Down Economic theory does is support the concept of WEALTH TRANSFER.
Wealthy Transfer from the Middle Class (in the form of taxes they have paid) to the very wealthiest Americans ... who already pay a smaller percentage of taxes than the middle classes.
John McCain SUPPORTS Trickle Down Economics.
John McCain has stated that he will give MORE tax rebates to the wealthiest.
John McCain is such a doddering old fool - (as you yourself have said, OmegaTomato)<.i> ... he cannot see that 40 years of Trickle Down Economics produce failure.
Look, Unlimited Welfare without accountability DOES NOT WORK.
John McCain supports Welfare for the Wealthy ... and THAT'S what will lead to McCain's downfall.
And if McCain is elected president ... (God Forbid) ... his outdated and discredited economic theories will lead to the downfall of American Capitalism.
I pray to God that this poor old man with outdated ideas does not become our president ... for the love of our nation.

the super rich, rich, upper middle class & the fascist corporations like the oil companies, pharmaceutical & Walmart have to start to pull their weight instead of exploiting the common person. USA is hardly a christian nation but just a glorified parasite

In about a year and a half, when the housing market is at 50 percent, and DOW has stabilized at between 7800 and 8000, it will be the bottom. Then it will be safe to go back. Until then it is a Day trader's market. Gambler's paradise. The bailout is just a waste of resources. In fact it will compound the problem. Much like the physicians of old who would bleed the patient, to give the appearance of action. The Scam Bailout is an action to give the appearance of care and concern, but will in truth deplete needed resources for healing and extend the time required for recovery. Wake up people this is no time for amateurs. Fighting the party wars will not help either. This over forty years in the making.

But did you vote for him? That is the issue at hand. You voted for him and he is definitely more associated with terrorists than Obama. You voted for him and he lied us into a war that has cost us not only lives but billions of tax dollars as well. You voted for him even though he talked about what a strong Christian background he has and yet he didn't follow through on any of the promises he made during the 2000 election. You voted for Bush even though he was an admitted alcoholic and drug addict and was convicted of a DUI. So don't tell me that you won't vote fro Obama because of the Ayers thing. Bush was much dirtier than Obama will ever be and you voted for him.

+don't fear things that you don't understand. research. become knowledgeable.
+what are the things that build wealth: mining manufacturing and farming. and banking.
Trickle Down Economics ... first mentioned by Ronald Reagan ... this economic theory is Clear ... give ever more money to those who already have the MOST money ... the wealthiest ... and HOPEFULLY ... excess money will 'Trickle Down' to the Middle Classes.
+there is no such thing as 'excess money'. if you put it in a bank, it goes right back out the door as captal for others to use - at a fee.
Not only is this a Morally Vacant economic theory ... it simply does not work.
+you know not of what you speak. wouldyou prefer mercantilism, or should we just go back to barter?
The ONLY thing Trickle Down Economic theory does is support the concept of WEALTH TRANSFER.
Wealthy Transfer from the Middle Class (in the form of taxes they have paid) to the very wealthiest Americans ... who already pay a smaller percentage of taxes than the middle classes.
+ummmm, no the top 10% of all earners pay 70 % of all income taxes. so what in fact are you talking about?
John McCain SUPPORTS Trickle Down Economics.
+if you had half a brain, you'd already have hit the delete key.
John McCain has stated that he will give MORE tax rebates to the wealthiest.
+no. rebates? the 'wealthy' didn't get any rebates last time. they paid for you to get yours. nuh uh. the richest would pay less than they are currently paying under Bush's current tax schedule. and way less if you consider that O has singled them out to pay for his money spending schemes
John McCain is such a doddering old fool - (as you yourself have said, OmegaTomato)<.i> ... he cannot see that 40 years of Trickle Down Economics produce failure.
+its just plain economics. there is no such thing as a 'trickle down economics.'
Look, Unlimited Welfare without accountability DOES NOT WORK.
+ WTF? from nothing springs intelligence?
John McCain supports Welfare for the Wealthy ... and THAT'S what will lead to McCain's downfall.
+dOHHHHH!!!! if you had the tiniest clue as to what you were saying you wouldn't embarass yourself so.
And if McCain is elected president ... (God Forbid) ... his outdated and discredited economic theories will lead to the downfall of American Capitalism.
+oh brother.
I pray to God that this poor old man with outdated ideas does not become our president ... for the love of our nation.
+stop drinkiing the koolaid. you've been had. you're spouting ignorance and untruth.-

um...there is such a thing as the "tricle down theory" of economics. It does exist. Reagan did tout it. And Bush the first followed it too. Bush the second tried to revive it and that is the failure of the economy we are currently living through.

And you could lose that snotty tone in your posts. If you are going to debate someone and convert them to your way of thinking, try using words that don't demean the person you are trying to get on your side.-

I like candidates who walk the talk:

Obama says: Despite decades of progress, women still make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. Throughout his career, Barack Obama and Joe Biden have championed the right of women to receive equal pay for equal work.
Unfortunately his own campaign staff represents the 77 cents on the dollar for women pay scale. -

its an obvious corollary of just plain old macroeconomics. post keynesian macroeconomics....
Reply
the current macro is politically packaged as 'trickle down economics' to be used as a buzz word.
long story short, macroeconomics stands on its record. the democratic plan esentially throws it out the window. at everyone's peril!
with regard to my tone, yeah, it is snotty. if there was balanced - i don't even care if its fair - discussion of the issues, i'm there...
being nice to thick people is a waste of everyone's time. you can be nice to a recalcitrant donkey, but it gets you nowhere. once you crack it in the skull with a 2X4 at least you have its attention.
do i have your attention yet? : )-

No thanks. I don't need to read such aggressive drivel from a person who believes that their own perspicacity gives them the right to insult people who don't share their political affiliation. Parties don't rule our country, people do. And I personally don't care for the character of Mr. McCain. And I haven't been happy with the job that Mr. Bush has done and the things that have been done in the name of "freedom" to both this nation and the world stage. McCain is the continuation of Bush's policies.

EVERYBODY knows that Americans who inherit their wealth vote for Republicans!
Republicans stand for ... above all else ... protecting inherited wealth.
Haven't you watched the desperate measures they took to overturn the Estate Tax?
Your attempt at insulting me with a preposterously snide remark only validates to me that you are the recipient of the Vast Transfer of Wealth that Republicans have perpetrated upon America.
The Vast Transfer of Wealth ... from the Middle Classes to the Wealthiest.
And this latest Bailout is just the last note of Welfare for the Wealthy that this administration has engaged in.
SO ... next time you try to insult me ... I suggest that you do it in such a way that makes sense .... so we don't all realize that you care more about your free handouts from the Government ... than you do for our country.
Get it?-

insult you? i didn't think it was possilbe.

actually, its called the socratic method, where i'm supposed to make you question your own beliefs and understanding.
clearly, that's not happening.
i'll be a bit more explicit.
republicans don't stand for protecting inherited wealth. americans stand for it. they didn't overturn it. it was a law passed by congress that allows it to vanish in 2009. after that it comes back at 40%. bet you didn't know that. but it was supported by 80% of america way back when.
so. its a vast right wing conspiracy to steal from the poor, even though i've shown that its not as you think?
you DO realize that he democratic leadership in the house could've passed the bailout without one republican vote, right? the reason why they didn't is because they wanted political cover so that americans couldn't blame them for selling out to Wall Street. being the gutless wonders they are, they got a healthy handful of republicans to go along in a 'spirit of bipartisanship' but nothing more than use them for political cover. absolutely disgusting.
i suppose at this point i should get out a bigger two by four because language isn't cutting the mustard....
Goppy: WAKE THE F UP! YOU"RE BEING HAD. THE DEMS DON"T HAVE A PLAN. THEIR WHOLE PLATFORM IS TO SAY THAT THEY AREN"T G BUSH. O's ECONOMICS ARE A THIN SOUPY MELANGE OF KEYNESIAN AND 1970s FAILED POLICIES. IF YOU DON"T LIKE BUSH, YOU"RE GOING TO HATE O FOR WHAT HE"S ABOUT TO DO TO THE COUNTRY.
should O win, it'll be cold comfort to sit back and say that I told you so. -

BFD. sticks and stones and all that.
i don't actually have to be bright. i have to be JUST smart enough to screen the facts from the fire hose of misinformation that the dems are running on.
to be fair, the republicans don't have a lock on 'doing the right thing'. they just happen to be closer than the dems. and not by a little either

Goppy, don't know if you are male or female, doesn't matter, but, guess what? Someday you will be old, sure hope young people treat you with respect, unlike you treat your elders. Old is coming for you! Left-wing Liberals with their ally, the left-wing media have brought this country down, not the Republicans. Read about, "The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty" It was a plan for liberals to create economic disaster, with the help of left-wingers infiltrating academics, media, bureaucratic positions, get the picture? Not a very pretty one if you care at all about the United States and the future for our children and grandchildren. Go to this link and smack you lips, jump for joy, whatever. You will see how your left-wing nut-job friends are ruining the US. Shame on people like you, where the heck is your brain?
