Comments for Factors that Could Lead to Obama's Downfall »
Posted By Klarissa 1 year, 2 months ago in Political NewsBarack Obama has that as a tremendous advantage in this race and recent polls breaking his way show it, but there are some significant factors that could still lead to his undoing.
In the Obama ad I have seen many times this week, he is sitting in a setting very similar to the one Bill Clinton used in 1996. Also like Clinton, he talks directly into the camera and promises tax cuts for the middle class. Will this approach be as effective for Obama as it was for Clinton?
Those on the left can neither credibly argue that a far left agenda would not prevail in an Obama administration. Barack Obama’s voting record is Exhibit One that is exactly what voters should expect. . . .
Additional clues to the leftist paradise that might exist under Obama can be seen in the thuggish attempts to silence his critics, whether it be his goons trying to shut down talk radio interviews or his operatives in state offices who are threatening to sue anyone who makes claims about Obama they deem false.

Why is Obama hiding his past? Why is his college thesis off limits? All records of who his friend were, what his grades were. Who got him into Harverd? He's got a butt load off stuff he's trying to hide. It will come out, though I hope in time for the election. Everyone he was connected with in his past are scary. He is well taught, but taught to do what? Remember

"present national decline" i.e. the subprime mortgage crisis and the $700 billion bailout voted in by the majority democratic congress. More and more it is coming out that was caused by liberal democrats including Obama himself in his short career. ACORN (Obama was involved big time) and pressure by similar groups and the Dems in Congress pushed Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other lenders to issue huge amounts of risky loans. This problem is the biggest problem of our time. I don't see Obama as understanding the reason for this problem or seeing any implication on the part of his fellow liberal Dems (Frank, Schumer, Dodd et al and his own).

But who listens to this? The majority of the voters haven't a clue, including you. It would be wise to consider the above before you vote.-

Those on the left will say it is fear mongering, even though for years they have warned of the extreme right wing and the fascist dictator state that America would become under Republican governance. They can’t do that with John McCain, who has so often been in opposition to conservatives. Since he would almost certainly have a Congress controlled by Democrats, any attempt to scare Americans with a rightwing fascist state is absurd. -

This election year really SUCKS. The media can't push Obama down our throats fast enough, and the media won't report on anything good McCain does.
Reply
It's REALLY sad when a person can only think about just not voting this time around and hope for better candidates next time around.
I would love to see Obama fall flat on he's face because I think he is a wolf in sheep's clothing and don't trust him AT ALL.
As for McCain, I respect him but, I really don't see him as President, there is just something about him that seems off to me.
Like I said before this election year REALLY SUCKS!!-

I wrote a post in January as the primaries were just starting stating that of all the candidates on the Democrat side and Republican side, I did not see any one that was electable come November. Now that the field has been narrowed to two, I still stand by my statement. With all his baggage I can't see how Obama can win. With the economy as it is, and since the nation seldom elects the same party for President 3 terms in a row, I can't see how McCain can win.
Reply
But we do know that come November 5 one of these two will do the impossible and will be the President-Elect. I repeat a challenge I made before that went unanswered. I will be voting for McCain. But if Obama wins, I will call him my President. Question for Obama supporters in Propeller: If McCain wins, will you call him your President?-

Reply
No because he won't be but I would find him less unpalatable than the current incumbent or Richard Nixon both of whom merit[ed] cremation and unmarked graves.
The worst aspect of McCain is that according to the medical prognoses that I've been reading he is unlikely to survive 4 years - and the stress of being a President hardly seems like a life-belt! And that would mean the foul emanation from the northlands at which point the US would cease to be taken seriously anywhere in the world.

If Obama becomes President he will sit in the oval office and wonder what to do about every crisis that comes up. His advisors will include Biden and other liberals who he will listen to and act accordingly. With Congress being on his side it is scary what will happen as a result. There's a good chance that if we slide into a depression, it will continue as long as he's in office. It will happen on his watch and therefore will be his fault. Remember Hoover who took office 10 months before the crash of 1929? He was forever credited with causing the great depression. In Obama's case he already has been involved in the great financial crisis of 2008.

Given your 'out of the loop' interpretation ... let's imagine what Johnny McCain will do once in the Oval Office ...
With every passing crisis ... this 'doddering old fool' ... as OmegaTomato frequently called him ... will react EXACTLY the SAME as George W. Bush!!
Why would anyone think otherwise?
We've seen him vote in accordance with GeeDubs wishes 90% over the past 8 years!
Only a fool would think anything will change under Johnny Shapeshifter!
Maverick? ... Try Amoral Hot-Head ... follower of whatever GW says or does.
..
Worst of all ... this fellow will INCREASE and EXPAND the GW policy of Foreign Invasion! He's already stated on numerous occasions that he's quite willing to stay and fight in Iraq for 100 years!!
This is not spin.
He has said he would be OKAY staying in Iraq for 100 years.
This guy ... if elected ... will certainly lead our nation into unprecedented decline.
If you care about America ... if you have ANY patriotic feelings for our flag ... PLEASE ... do not vote for this 'doddering old fool' ... as even redtomato has called him ... (when that member posted as AlphaGnosis.)

The TRUTH...We don't know Obama very well do we, he's new on the scene, he has no real time spent record to look at. Over the last few years, Obama has associated and aligned himself with some very bad and corrupt people. He buddies around with a well known domestic terrorist. "William Aires", Obama launched his political career from the livening room of that well know domestic terrorist, William Aires! Aires and friends tried to bomb the Pentagon and launch an attack on the American Government, in an attempt to over throw our government! That right there in it's self is plenty enough for me NOT to vote for Osama Obama. How do we know for sure that Osama Obama isn't some kind of terrorist himself. Afterall, you are who you hang out with. So, we don't know for sure do we, no we don't!

When you keep the value of your currency artificially high (or other countries do), then you make it impossible for your businesses to compete in a world economy.
Reply
It's not taxes that make businesses non-competitive, it's cost of labor. A shoemaker operating out of China making the same quality of shoes as a shoemaker operating in the US should have their product much more expensive than the shoes made in the US (because you have to add shipping costs across the ocean). But the Yuan is so devalued against the USD that the labour is pennies on the dollar, therefore even after adding the cost of shipping, the chinese shoes are cheaper. Why would anyone make shoes in the US? Why would anyone BUY US-made shoes?
I don't really think you're naive enough to think that it's taxes that make business cheaper in China, are you?

capital built on perception... not actual value of goods, hardware, software, financials , investments in r & d, and workforce talent.
Reply
anytime anyone suggests a real welfare reform by asking business to step up and pay their fair share of the economy they benefit most from, we're suddenly accused of "punishing capital building".
capital building can just as easily, and much more fairly, be accomplished by distributing wealth via living wages to the american worker, who will then buy more goods and services and save money, which...guess what??? Acts as capital investment.

People are being brained washed by the left wing media, that being about 90% of our media. I think most Americans don't pay close enough attention or don't understand as to what's really going on. They simply tune into CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC NBC etc... news stations for their information. Basically the media is going to be who elects our next president. The media has gone insane with their bias, one sided reporting and lying to the public. The media is totally in the tank for Obama. The media is hell bent on trashing Palin and McCain into the dirt....just think how the polls would look right now, if the shoe were on the other foot. Instead, the media is in the tank for McCain and Palin and out to hang Obama. Then how would the polls look! See my point here, the media has control over all this.

I agree with the brainwashing but it is the republicans who are 100% brainwashed to the point of retardation. Almost all republicans believe in religion. The concept of a god or some deity is ridicious, but almost all republicans believe in this fairy tale. If you believe in one fairy tale you can be brainwashed into believing in another like the reasons for the Iraq war it was all lies and fairy tales but all of you republicans you fell for it. The media is not left wing, some is, some is right wing. If the media were truly left wing as you state, Mccain would not have been the republican candidate with all of his gaffes and lies. Obama should be way ahead but due to republican right wing media, the race is close.

How would things look for Obama if the media all ganged up on Obama and trashed his ass into the dirt. Like they are doing to MCain and Palin. How would things look for Osama Obama if the media were in the tank for McCain and Palin. Yes, it would be a complete different deal then, don't ya think? What is your obsession with the similarity between the names Osama and Obama?
Seriously, eight-year-olds play the name game and I thought it was supposed to get old after that.
The media should stick to doing comparisons of the two platforms (or the 12 platforms, for that matter, but heaven forbid anyone acknowledge it's not a 2-man race), and leave all the character defamation crap out.
You buy, hook line and sinker, all the vile refuse spewed forth by Limbaugh, yet continue to insist that the mainstream media is biased? Bias is pre-determined opinion. Are you sure that the MSM didn't take an objective look at both candidates and come to the realization that Obama is just, by far, the better choice? What would be the reason for a media BIAS in Obama's favor? Does he wine and dine them like McCain does at his famous bbqs?-

In about a year and a half, when the housing market is at 50 percent, and DOW has stabilized at between 7800 and 8000, it will be the bottom. Then it will be safe to go back. Until then it is a Day trader's market. Gambler's paradise. The bailout is just a waste of resources. In fact it will compound the problem. Much like the physicians of old who would bleed the patient, to give the appearance of action.
