Comments for Obama: Good Will Hunting Voter Fraud - $17000 Donated in $10-25 Pieces »

As Obama opted out of the public financing system designed to eliminate campaign finance fraud, his $400 million fundraising effort is viewed by some as an: "invitation for fraud and illegal foreign cash because donors giving individual sums of $200 or less don't have to be publicly reported. Consider the cases of Obama donors "Doodad Pro" of Nunda, N.Y., who gave $17,130, and "Good Will" of Austin, Texas , who gave more than $11,000—both in excess of the $2,300-per-person federal limit. In two recent letters to the Obama campaign, Federal Election Commission auditors flagged those (and other) donors and informed the campaign that the sums had to be returned. Neither name had ever been publicly reported because both individuals made online donations in $10 and $25 increments. "Good Will" listed his employer as "Loving" and his occupation as "You," while supplying as his address 1015 Norwood Park Boulevard, which is shared by ..."

This is the modus operandi of Obama major donor "Dodad Pro", from the article: "Doodad Pro" listed no occupation or employer; the contributor's listed address is shared by Lloyd and Lynn's Liquor Store in Nunda. "I have never heard of such an individual," says Diane Beardsley, who works at the store and is the mother of one of the owners. "Nobody at this store has that much money to contribute." (She added that a Doodad's Boutique, located next door, had closed a year ago, before the donations were made.)

In an apparent indication of knowledge of the fraud, the article reports: "This summer, watchdog groups asked both campaigns to share more information about its small donors. The McCain campaign agreed; the Obama campaign did not."

This story shot itself in the foot before it got off the ground, it's not factual it's pure speculation and i can speculate that your dog will have a cat yesterday!

Since we can't prove any of this what is your point? This is stupid, stupid! And nothing more than an attempt to infuse doubt where there is none. You are using stereotypes to define a man that was raised by a White mom and Grandparents and went to two Ivy schools.

Look you would get away with this if he was some poor black man from the inner-city without the means to defend himself but this will not fly with Obama most sane whites are not afraid of him...he will never be your Willie Horton!

This is a continuing "problem" for the Obama campaign.

Also from the article: "In a similar case earlier this year, the campaign returned $33,000 to two Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip who had bought T shirts in bulk from the campaign's online store. They had listed their address as "Ga.," which the campaign took to mean Georgia rather than Gaza."

It is actually bigger than reported in the article. Other news accounts suggest that roughly 11,500 donors who gave a total of $34 million to the campaign may be citizens of foreign countries, who are not allowed to contribute to U.S. elections

A BBC poll released Sept. 10, for instance, found that Obama was preferred 4-to-1 on average across 22,000 people surveyed in 22 foreign countries.

There is little doubt that foreigners are licking their chops at the prospect of an inexperienced, naive, weak American president who will subsume American interests and cater to the whims of the UN while deferring the big questions to the Europeans. This isn't even taking into account Obama's strange policy toward Israel (where he says one thing but all his advisors say exactly the opposite) and the belief among Muslims that because he grew up in Indonesia, he will not be as forceful in prosecuting the war on terror.

It all seems very standard for Chicago style politics. Doodads donating, dead people voting... Thanks to ChiTown politicos like Obama and outfits like ACORN.
This is just the start, more will be revealed.

You have to wonder why they accepted donations from Doodad Pro, knowing it was fraudulent.

RNa Because they can't read. Please if you are going to post at least read the article. Below is the last paragraph in the article the clarifies everything. Obama has a lot more donors than McCain therefore they are harder to track.

Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt said the campaign has no idea who the individuals are and has returned all the donations, using the credit-card numbers they gave to the campaign. (In a similar case earlier this year, the campaign returned $33,000 to two Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip who had bought T shirts in bulk from the campaign's online store. They had listed their address as "Ga.," which the campaign took to mean Georgia rather than Gaza.) "While no organization is completely protected from Internet fraud, we will continue to review our fund-raising procedures," LaBolt said. Some critics say the campaign hasn't done enough. This summer, watchdog groups asked both campaigns to share more information about its small donors. The McCain campaign agreed; the Obama campaign did not. "They could've done themselves a service" by heeding the suggestions, said Massie Ritsch of the Center for Responsive Politics.

What would truly be amazing would be to collect 400 million in donations and not have any screw ups.

It looks to me like the system is working pretty well, and that if there was a problem, it would be fixed.

Unfortunately, there is no system to correct these fraudulent money-raising practices. These are just the frauds uncovered, and the reality is over half the donations are subject to question. However Obama has refused to open up the books.

There are dozens of reasons foreigners are pulling for Obama to win. There is little doubt that money from overseas is pouring into the Obama campaign.
And it is a dead certainty that the FEC won't do a damn thing about it until after the election.

                        problem solved.

and I love how the cons on this board are angry that Obama hasn't opened up his books for watchdog groups that hold no actual authority, but at the same time have no problem with the Palins, along with their GOP AG buddy in Alaska, ignoring subpoenas issued by the US courts.

The GOP uses a technique of companies asking their employees to donate the maximum amount of money and then repaying them with a special bonus. This is illegal but has not yet been prosecuted as much as it should be.
Donations to the NRA are not limited and then find their way in support of the GOP agenda.
                          Think this is not true?
                          Ask Sarah Palin.

The most outrageous source of GOP propaganda is Faux News and Hate Radio that takes their scripts form the GOP spin masters. Clearly illegal, and I hope soon these organizations will be eliminated from the airways.

Not that it would happen, but it's a lot more honorable than Republicans purging voters from the rolls 90 days before an election.

                              http://www.bradblog.com/?p=6453

The Article: "Tonight's CBS Evening News finally covered what may well be the November Surprise that we've been trying to warn about for months here at The BRAD BLOG: Massive voter roll purges being done in secret, with little or no oversight, and often under federal Justice Department cover, in states and counties around the country.

And the Democrats, who likely have the most to lose via such secret purges, are doing little or nothing about it.

The CBS story, posted below (appx 2 mins) starts with an elderly New Jersey voter who was suddenly removed from the voting rolls after thirty years, for apparently no reason whatsoever, before launching into findings from a new non-partisan Brennan Center for Justice study on "Voter Purges".

We've yet to read this Brennan report, but the brief coverage from tonight's Evening News notes 10,000 voters purged in Mississippi, 21,000 in Louisiana and "to top it off, another new study discovered 19 states are ignoring federal law (the National Voter Registration Act), banning systematic purges within 90 days of a federal election."

Among those 19, are a number of battleground states. The report lists: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Delware, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Masachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Texas and Washington, as places where massive purges have recently taken place.

CBS ends by noting that their New Jersey voter has now been restored to the rolls, but they warn, "come Election Day, don't count on thousands of others being as fortunate"...

What an insult. Paying voters to Vote while we have men and women dying for this right? Give me a break. Honorable you say? I'm Black and sick of my party doing this.
