Raila Odinga is a murder, a socialist that caused many innocent people to be killed, raped and tortured by inciting violence. Why would Senator Barack Obama befriend this man?

RedRiverJ: "Why would Senator Barack Obama befriend this man?"
Reply
Why and when did you befriend your own cousins? Or do you treat them all as enemies?
Yes, Obama was seen with this man and may even have made some speeches for him, although that's not clear, but that was before the violence in Kenya. I've seen no evidence in this video about his support for his cousin now.
The video questions Raila Odinga's alliance with fundamentalist Muslims, yet nobody on the political right questions Sarah Palin's and John McCain's connection to fundamentalist Christians. It's probably the same over there, the fundamentalist Muslims representing a large voting block. Can't you see the parallel? Politicians get their votes where they can. -

Sen. Obama met Odinga once. He made a single, brief appearance with him in 2006, while in Kenya. He spoke to him on the phone once (for five minutes) earlier this year. There is no evidence that they are either relatives or friends:

The claims about their relationship mostly stem from a discredited email that has been circulating among conservatives. The notion that Odinga is Sen. Obama's cousin only surfaced after the disputed elections in 2007. The claim originated with Odinga himself, and was denied by the very Uncle through whom Odinga says he is related to Obama. Oddly enough, shortly before the election another Kenyan politician tried to make the same claim about his relation to Sen. Obama. Seems Odinga's not even an original liar.
There is no credible evidence that Sen. Obama ever "campaigned for" Odinga, nor that he supported him either monetarily or personally in any way.
Google "obama odinga" and what you come up with are a lot of conservative bloggers who are Obama detractors, along with a few poorly researched articles by media outlets. For example, a Reuters story that took Odinga's word that he was related to Sen. Obama without following up with any fact-checking. -

These are lies that have been debunked by FactCheck.org from Jerome Corsi's book. This is the same Jerome that said that the Twin Towers were brought down by planted explosive which you cons deny as truth. Why do you believe this? Because it's a lie suits your purpose. -

What recent president STRONGLY REQUESTED that GOVERNMENT bail out the Private Sector?
That's right ... George W. Bush ... to the tune of $700 BILLION ... AND COUNTING!
Of course, I wasn't surprised he did this.
George W. Bush has a long record of Socialism.
Back in Texas ... when he was part of a business association.. he got the city of Arlington to steal 200 acres from middle class citizens using Eminent Domain!
An you know ... that's Socialism.
Not only that ... he got the City of Arlington ... the GOVERNMENT ... to raise taxes to build him and his buddies a stadium ... that THEY would then own and later sell.
Government collecting money from the masses to feed the few.
It's the Modern Form of Socialism George W. Bush has been practicing for decades.
Y'all really need to keep current with the modern meanings of the terms you bandy about.
LOL!!!!
(No ... I don't really expect you will ... still it's very funny to point out how ridiculous y'all sound to rational, Mainstream Americans.)

The video doesn't prove that he campaigned for him, nor does it prove that it was at taxpayers expense, nor does it prove that he supports him. I won't go back to check that video, but I believe it was in 2006, not in 2007 when he was there. For all we know, it's possible that all he said was that yes, this was his cousin and he wished him luck.

What you idiots are posting is false lies written in the book "The Obama Nation" by Jerome Corsi filled with false and half truths gathered from the internet. FactCheck.org did a research on Corsi's book and debunked all these accusation by McCain's supporters.
Reply
A frequent Corsi tactic is to point to some link between Obama and various unsavory persons and to imply that Obama somehow shares in their unsavoriness. He devotes an entire chapter to violent uprisings in Kenya following a disputed presidential election in 2007. The link to Obama? During a visit to Kenya in 2006, Obama and his wife, Michelle, arranged to take an AIDS test to publicly demonstrate the test's safety. While there, Obama spoke to the assembled crowd. Raila Odinga, one of the two candidates running for president, was on the stage when Obama spoke. Corsi concludes that the event constituted an endorsement of Odinga. He goes on to attribute all the violence in Kenya to an elaborate Odinga plot.
Corsi, however, offers no evidence that Obama actually did endorse Odinga. In fact, MSNBC reported that during that same trip, Obama also met with Mwai Kibaki, who was Odinga's opponent in that election, as well as with opposition leader Uhuru Kenyatta. And Human Rights Watch reported that both Odinga and Kibaki (or their supporters, anyway) had a hand in the violence that followed the election.
Now what I suggest is that you get the real facts and stop repeating lies from a book by someone that claimed that the Twin Towers were brought down by planted explosives

Sen. Barack Obama said Wednesday he would give Al Gore, a Nobel prize winner, a major role in an Obama administration to address the problem of global warming.
At a town-hall meeting, Obama was asked if he would tap the former vice president for his Cabinet, or an even higher level office, to handle global warming.
"I would," Obama said. "Not only will I, but I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem. He's somebody I talk to on a regular basis. I'm already consulting with him in terms of these issues, but climate change is real. It is something we have to deal with now, not 10 years from now, not 20 years from now."-

Wolfie2007: "How come we haven't heard a lot of talk about this, I mean this is a legitimate news story."
Reply
Perhaps because it's not true. I mean the violence in Kenya was true, and we (or at least I) heard an awful lot about it when it was happening, but all that time, I heard Obama's name mentioned only once, and that was before the Kenyan election, and before the violence. A reporter interviewed someone who mentioned one of his cousins and that he'd heard that Obama is running for president and wished him luck.
No, this is not a legitimate news story. You know Wolfie, it is possible to sting together a bunch of news clips and pictures, which are all true by themselves, and create a big lie out of them. This is one of those videos. -

Because it's NOT a legitimate news story. If it had even the slightest shred of truth, don't you think Fox News would be all over it? Or has Fox finally succumbed and become one of the liberal media zombies?

So, in 2006, Obama spoke out against corruption in Kenya. That can hardly be called campaigning because the elections in Kenya were a year later. Not every country has perpetual election campaigns like the US.

The site "Atlas Shrugs" is a blog authored by an ultra-conservative woman named Pamela Geller. You can see a photo of her about halfway down the right side of the linked page. Yeah, that's her wearing the shiny "Superman" outfit. Judging from her extremist views on such matters as religion and science she has apparently not read much Ayn Rand.
If you follow the credible (read: non-blogger) links she provides regarding Odinga, they do not mention Sen. Obama.

In August 2006, Mr. Obama visited Kenya and spoke in support of Mr. Odinga's candidacy at rallies in Nairobi. The Web site Atlas Shrugs has even posted a photograph of the two men side by side. More recently, Mr. Odinga says that Mr. Obama interrupted his campaigning in New Hampshire to have a telephone conversation with his African cousin about the constitutional crisis in Kenya.
