I think it's interesting that he disagrees with his "good, personal friend" on a single political issue, but that should hardly dissuade anyone from believing that he doesn't support Sen. McCain on other issues, nor should it cause anyone to believe that Sen. McCain isn't his "good, personal friend," especially since this is the second verified source we have of Liddy making this claim:

    FTA -

"Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as "an old friend," and McCain sounded like one. "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family," he gushed. "It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great.""

Gosh, if Sen. McCain really believes that G. Gordon Liddy "adheres to principles and philosophies that keep our nation great" that would give voters a reason to think that he supports the kind of treacherous actions the man has perpetrated, wouldn't it? Since Sen. McCain has never condemned Liddy's actions, either himself or through a spokesman, why should we believe otherwise?
