CNN: Obama's Lying About William Ayers »
Posted By Karlyc 1 year, 1 month ago in NewsThis article and video report: "Obama has lied about his “coming out party” at the home of William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn in 1995. Obama has said that Alice Palmer arranged the fundraiser and the venue, but Griffin spoke to two people who attended the event, who claim Obama lied. Palmer had nothing to do with that event outside of being invited to it. Obama and Ayers planned the event themselves."

"My friends, as we try to provide you with more information about Sen. Obama’s dubious ties to the likes of unrepentent domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers, and radical Leftist groups like ACORN, it is inevitable that his defenders will attempt to deflect your attention away from these relationships by stating that these are just smears, an attempt to distract you from the overwhelming issue that is front and center in the minds of all Americans - the economy.
"But this is most certainly not the case, since we believe that that these relationships - along with many others - provide clear examples of the dangers an Obama presidency poses to this country’s future economic well-being.
The overall health of the US economy is a complicated balancing act between private-sector freedom and govt oversight. As our nation’s current financial crisis is clearly illustrating, govt policies can - for good or for bad - have enormous effects on our financial markets. "-

"Obama has lied repeatedly about his relationship with the unrepentant domestic terrorist. He spent years working for Ayers, promoting Ayers’ causes. Even CNN won’t buy the Obama line any longer."
You know it is hitting home when Obama - supporting CNN cannot avoid running a story. -

McCain is deluding himself over the 'surge'
John McCain is desperate to talk about the surge rather than the splurge. His Iraq war is set to cost one trillion dollars, and his deregulation-mania has cost hundreds of billions. So in order to maintain his facade of being "tough on spending", he needs to shift the subject. That's why he has tried to shrink the debate about the Iraq War to one small question. Not: did Saddam have Weapons of Mass Destruction? Not: did Saddam have links to 9/11? Not: why do 70 per cent of Iraqis think the presence of US troops make them less safe and they should go home now?
McCain knows he will lose those arguments, so he wants us to talk solely about whether the surge of US troops last year has been successful. But a hole was just blown in that argument – and blood is rushing through.
Those of us who got Iraq wrong have a particular duty to honestly describe what is happening now. A major study by the distinguished scientific journal Environment and Planning A has just revealed the real picture. The Republican nominee claims the US troops have stopped the violence by their physical presence. To test this, Professor John Agnew and his colleagues used the same techniques the US government has adopted to monitor ethnic-cleansing in Burma and Uganda.

Well, it has become clear that the GOP hopes to snooker Americans yet again with lies and scare tactics. If the GOP had any decency left, they would ask Palin to step aside.

It's Palin doing the pallin'
Last Wednesday, Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home of a woman in Akron, Ohio named Addie Polk, in order to evict her. After 38 years in that house, Ms. Polk had fallen behind on paying the mortgage. It was so bad that the company that held that mortgage, Fannie Mae, had foreclosed. In fact, it was far worse than anybody knew. Addie Polk couldn't bear it any more. So, rather than be evicted, she shot herself in the chest. ... But I left out one detail. Addie Polk is 90 years old.
In the self-pronounced area of expertise of the Governor of Alaska—energy—the real experts of both parties are at a loss to figure out any way, even'drill, baby, drill', that might lower gas prices before 2018. We are at war in two countries and a lame duck President with no reason to check his own imbalance still has dreams of one more.
And a 90-year-old woman, trapped in the middle of a financial meltdown, shoots herself and she's still in better shape than the economy. Yet, the Governor of Alaska wants to talk about somebody Barack Obama doesn't know very well, and what this somebody Barack Obama doesn't know very well, did, during the year Obama was eight and the Governor of Alaska was in pre-Kindergarten.
And she wants to talk about Reverend Jeremiah Wright. And she doesn't object to being introduced with a reference to Barack Obama's middle name. Well, this is my suggestion. In much the same way we, America, in the corporate persona of Fannie Mae, have forgiven poor Addie Polk of Akron, Ohio.
We, America, also need to forgive poor Sarah Palin of Wasilla, Alaska. They are both in situations that are beyond their ability to cope. They are both stuck in a crucible caused by forces they cannot comprehend. They are both unable to understand what they are doing.
After stumbling through a clumsier version of it at Englewood, Colorado, the Governor of Alaska said Saturday at Carson, California:
"Our opponent is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country.”
She later defended the remark by adding this was an "association that has been known but hasn't been talked about.”
Governor, Conservative groups have thus far spent ten million dollars this year trying to make something, anything, out of the brief interaction on a charity board between Sen. Obama, and a rehabilitated former domestic radical from the '60s and not even Conservatives have been stupid enough to buy the snake oil, that this was either a close relationship or a nefarious one. -

The organization that gave Barack Obama his start was hiring convicted criminals to do their voter canvasing - registered the same person 10 times - registered a 12 year old - and the entire Dallas Cowboys football team in addition to hundreds of other bogus 'voters'!!! This is going on around the country - ACORN is a corrupt organization - and they are 'stuffing the ballot boxes' with phony Democrat voters to 'elect' Barack Obama - their former legal counsel and 'community organizer'!! (AP) Barack Obama has his William Ayers connection. Now John McCain may have an Iran-Contra connection. In the 1980s, McCain served on the advisory board to the U.S. chapter of an international group linked to ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America.
Reply
The U.S. Council for World Freedom aided rebels trying to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua. That landed the group in the middle of the Iran-Contra affair and in legal trouble with the Internal Revenue Service, which revoked the charitable organization's tax exemption.
The council created by retired Army Maj. Gen. John Singlaub was the U.S. chapter of the World Anti-Communist League, an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. After setting up the U.S. council, Singlaub served as the international league's chairman.
McCain's tie to Singlaub's council is undergoing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Obama for his link to Ayers, a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago. Over the weekend, Democratic operative Paul Begala said on ABC's "This Week" that this "guilt by association" tactic could backfire on the McCain campaign by renewing discussion of McCain's service on the board of the U.S. Council for World Freedom, "an ultraconservative right-wing group." -

I was gonna ask how you cons thought McLib did in the debate last night but it looks (from the current crop of top stories) like the Propeller Bushbot brigade is hard at work wallowing in smear and spin desperation mode. And just what makes you filthy people think that we can have a President who makes friends with Gaddafi (a "reformed" terrorist) to support his fake war in Iraq and yet Obama should be labeled a terrorist for "associating with" someonewho was prominent when Obama was 8? Cons are so daffy...
Oh well...Anyway, someone needs to tell McBush that wandering all over the stage, (while looking confused and on the verge of spontaneous combustion), insulting the moderator and referring to his opponent as "that one" all pretty much closed the chapter on his run for the White House. He and the beauty pageant runner up are done. Maybe he can try to run against Chelsea in 8 years. Palin can go back to watching out for Putin to rear his head. ;-( -

Can America trust a candidate whose supporters focus exclusively on Misrepresentations, Lies, Personal Attacks, and Subterfuge?
Reply
Think about that.

What do we regularly see from these Right Wing Members of Propeller ... members such as Karlyc, Wolfie, FSU, and redtomato ... (aka AlphaGnosis)</i)?
Think about how desperate these members must be to hide behind a headline touting CNN ... while year after year ... these same members try to gain advantage in debates by claiming CNN is biased against them.
It's really quite astonishing.
Look, these people claim their LIberal opponents HATE America ... but the fact is ... their tactics are counter to traditional American values.
They say they are Christians ... but they not only use Lies and Deceit to promote their candidate ... but their candidates ... indeed, the ideology they support is fundamentally anti-Christian.
These are not Christians ... they are simply cynical people with a very hardline, intolerant view of life.
And the only way their patriotism can be expressed is if our nation is invading another nation.
REAL Americans recognize that we are only as good as we can be if we work together as a nation to create opportunity ... for ourselves and our children.
The Neo-Conservative ideology that McCain has shown to embrace... believes only in empowering the wealthiest, most connected citizens ... and erratic military policy.
In my opinion ... this epitomizes a deep Moral Vacancy.

Seems to me the pathetic Con's constant dribble of lies and distortions are closing in on them. You've had control of the government for the better part (really worse part) of the last 32 years. Just as the Con Men did back at the turn of the century, they have driven the economy into the ditch again.
Reply
In the 1920s, the Con's constant catering to the rich got wealth and income disparity to an unmanageable level. The richest 1% earned over 20% of all income by 1929 and held 50% of all the wealth in the nation. Starting with John McCain's "Our wonderful Ronald Reagan" the new RepugnaCons have taken us right back to that exact same point. Real income for the middle class has dropped over the past 32 years while it has skyrocketed for the wealthy. http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2008/03/17/1928-...
We are right back on the abyss of another great depression. And McCain's solution is more of the medicine that's been making us so sick.

CNN did not claim that Obama lied, it merely did a segment on the claim of Kurtz's National Review that he did. The fact that the National Review claim is loaded with innuendo is obvious. I like the way you cons are trying to imply that it was CNN that was behind the claims. It's so typical. I will give you an example of what innuendo means....McCain has been known to associate with Gordon Liddy, a convicted felon who advocated shooting ATF agents in the head if confronted by them. See how it works.

Actually it is time to ignore this kind of silly racism by Palin.

Palin's Racism: I Don't Mess With Black Men
It’s that character thing, Sarah Palin declares.
The GOP’s VP candidate defends her increasingly strident verbal assaults on Barack Obama as legitimate questions about the Democratic presidential candidate.
Well, for Charles Greg Royal, it’s that character thing also.
This internationally renowned jazz musician recently utilized the National Press Club in Washington, DC to recount a flirtatious encounter he had in Alaska with a woman who identified herself as Sarah Heath.
Royal said this encounter ended after a racist remark by the woman now known as Gov Sarah Palin.
Making that racist remark, Royal contends, coupled with Gov Palin’s disengaged relations with racial minorities in Alaska speaks volumes about her character.
“When you view what happened with me in the context with what is happening with blacks and other minorities in Alaska under Gov Palin, it is clear that what I encountered was not a fluke. It shows her character,” Royal said during an interview hours after that press conference in DC where he directs the American Youth Symphony, Inc.
While that racist remark reflects character, Royal said, the flirtation by a woman who did not reveal at the time that she was both married and pregnant speaks to “mortality and fidelity.”
Royal said that when performing with the Duke Ellington Band in Anchorage ....

Look at the difference between Keating and Ayers. McCain personally and financially benefited from the Keating affair. Obama shared projects with Ayers on improving local education for kids. Obama was a child when Ayes was a political radical. Since then, Ayers has changed, as other young men and women changed since the 1960s. I was in college during the Vietnam war years, and some of my college classmates were involved in anti-Vietnam connections that involved violence and drugs. It was the flower-child age, remember, the age of the hippies and Beatles! Don't forget that. Those same idealistic young adults later became important contributors in the same society they fought against. It was the unpopular war that was at the center. It's just like saying that because we sang Beetles and other idealistic songs and protested against the Vietnam war in the 1960s, we are now condoning the radical extremists of the current world. They are not the same. McCain should think first about McCain's relationship with Keating before he plays dirty politics over Ayers. McCain's relationship had nothing to do with community service or youthful idealism -- it was pure greed.
