Man Shot Three Times In Street For Wearing Obama T-Shirt »
Posted By TimALoftis 1 year, 1 month ago in NewsA man told today how he was shot three times in a London street for wearing a Barack Obama T-shirt.
Dube Egwuatu was buying a mobile telephone top-up card in an off-licence when the gunman confronted him and glared at the top, which carries an image of the Democrat US presidential candidate underneath the legend 'Believe'.
The man then launched into a tirade of racist slurs, shouting 'I f***ing hate n*****s' and urging 36-year-old Mr Egwuatu to leave the shop with him.

I am more concerned about the racism that exists in the US.

Palin's Racism: I Don't Mess With Black Men
It’s that character thing, Sarah Palin declares.
The GOP’s VP candidate defends her increasingly strident verbal assaults on Barack Obama as legitimate questions about the Democratic presidential candidate.
Well, for Charles Greg Royal, it’s that character thing also.
This internationally renowned jazz musician recently utilized the National Press Club in Washington, DC to recount a flirtatious encounter he had in Alaska with a woman who identified herself as Sarah Heath.
Royal said this encounter ended after a racist remark by the woman now known as Gov Sarah Palin.
Making that racist remark, Royal contends, coupled with Gov Palin’s disengaged relations with racial minorities in Alaska speaks volumes about her character.
“When you view what happened with me in the context with what is happening with blacks and other minorities in Alaska under Gov Palin, it is clear that what I encountered was not a fluke. It shows her character,” Royal said during an interview hours after that press conference in DC where he directs the American Youth Symphony, Inc.
While that racist remark reflects character, Royal said, the flirtation by a woman who did not reveal at the time that she was both married and pregnant speaks to “mortality and fidelity.”
Royal said that when performing with the Duke Ellington Band in Anchorage ....

Racism doesn't exist anymore. We've been told that by the same bunch that sees everything else the wrong way these days.
Reply
Meahwhile, someone can shout out anti-Obama slogans such as "Kill him" at a Palin pep rally, uncontested by Ms. Palin.
But racism doesn't exist anymore.-

Have you ever heard "kill him" at sports events? Why do you think that has to be a literal death. Could it not mean that they wanted Palin to "kill him" with out performing him with words? Of course when Obama referred to the pig with lipstick and the crowd laughed very loudly it was not about Palin.

Only the right says bad things. Only the right is racist. Only the right _______. fill it in. Typical liberal hate think. People are people and there are hateful ones on both sides. Obama is not the "perfect one". -

Why is Palin responsible for what someone shouts at a rally? and why is she supposed to address that comment as it was not addressed to her??
Reply
I don't think that's Palin's place. If someone gets out of hand, that's a security issue.
If someone had screamed "Kill McCain" at an Obama rally, I don't think anyone would have seen that as racist, or would have expected Joe Biden to do anything about it. Also, there is question as to who the person was talking about-and the comment may not have been about Obama-Get your facts straight.-

Was anything done to the man shouting "Kill Obama!" at the McCain rally? If not then the whole crowd was shameful, as would any crowd not ousting a hateful slur out of bounds in a peaceful environment. Have we become so low on the moral scale we intellectulize the issue with a political response instead of seeing the real issue??

No, just stupid and violent. But acceptable to a certain crowd, who regularly use the phrases "kill the quarterback" and "kill the umpire." All it takes is a truly stupid and unbalanced person to take it seriously enought to use whatever is at hand to do the deed. We call it "mob rule."

It doesn't help the situation when the candidate uses the terrorist term in her speech. It's what is called mutual respect for your opponent which Palin lacks. You see, there was a time when two presidential candidates would run against each other without retorting to Rovian tactics.

You are responding to a politically related article, and your coming down on people for making a political statement?????
Also, I think you need to get your facts straight, too as the man did NOT yell "kill Obama" so the comment may have not been directed at him (Obama). This is a security issue, and someone like that should be removed from the crowd. -

I don't support many of Bush's views, but I hardly think you can blame the state of our economy solely on Bush when Democrats have the majority in Congress. This whole housing crisis started with Clinton when he basically took out the Glass-Stegall Act and Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999. Yes, it helped our economy make record income for a couple years, but it killed bank and financial institution regulation which is a huge part of this mess we're in right now. Furthermore, Clinton pushed to reform the Community Reinvestment Act in order to "deal with the problems of the inner city and distressed rural communities" by offering them loans they cannot afford. I am all for equal rights, but if you don't have the money to pay for a home, don't give the loan! Most of these people were a guarantee default on loan payments, but the government forced banks to GIVE loans to these people that clearly could not afford them to be FAIR. I don't think it's FAIR that everyone should have to suffer from these STUPID people that are defaulting loans, but life isn't fair, so we'll deal with it and hopefully learn from this event.
I'm not trying to blame Clinton for everything, and he did do a lot of good for our country, but I'm trying to make a point that it takes a couple years for the effects of these type of economic decisions to show up. Bush has made MANY poor decisions as well, but he's not the one to blame for our weak economy. The whole government, greedy consumers running up credit cards and taking our loans, banks and financial institutions pushing loans they knew would default, among too many other factors to mention.

Hmmm...if that had been a US military uniform you'd probably be singing a different tune. The man is sticking to what he believes is right, just like the man who is shot for being an american waves that flag every day after, just like the woman shot for being a christian reads the bible and forgives her enemies.

I believe racism exists, but I don't believe we need to raise our children to be defensive but rather just aware. So that kids don't go around looking for it. I think that just transfers the same mentality down to the kids.

Our country is one of the most greedy and selfish countries in world. An economic recession might be good for some people and help them realize how fortunate we are to live in this country. I would never hope for any sort of recession, I just wish people could be more grateful for what they have and stop worrying about what they don't have.
And if you can't tell, I support McCain :) -

Good grief. I was going to comment on the fact that the article shows that the victim also happens to be a black man. Maybe the shooter, who didn't like black people, was focusing on the person and not the shirt. What a clusterf*ck this thread has turned into.

Hey Beau:Are you sure about Obama's values,so far all we know is he doesn't think much of America, and he really has a problem with our flag,(no such problem with foreign flags)he thinks our national anthem stinks. He is more in tune with other countries than this one, the Palestinians along with Ha mas,and Hezeballah are enthralled about him becoming president.Go figure.

Hey idiots you can't blame Bush for this mess. This has to be laid at the feet of the liberal democrats. If these people,(and you know who they are)don't go to prison in 2009,then theft, and robbery should become attributes, instead of crime.

lloydm.. yeah, we liberal democrats need to learn our place and stay there.. Isn't that right? We should have sense enough to know that liberals and black people all belong behind bars, let the repugs have 0 adjusted gross income on their tax returns every year, and just make people who don't agree work themselves to death to keep you comfortable.
