I heard an audio exerpt from Obama's book where he clearly admitted to be attracted to Socialist ideas....I believe he also mentioned that he attended some classes in college pertaining to this topic....

Anything that you do not want to hear is a lie.
Obama by his voting record is a very far left politician. His ties with Bill Ayres on the wood and Annenberg foundations demonstrated by his actions to be aligned philosophically with him. He with Ayres funded far left organizations to create educational concepts that Bill Ayres holds to. Revolutionary against the government. They also helped fund ACORN. Obama worked diligently with ACORN training the staff and working behind the scenes and as their attorney attacking banks in court to force bad loans on them under CRA. Everything far left. So why is it surprising to find out that he was a member of this organization?
Stanley Kurtz investigated the Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers and followed the information there to other findings. Liberals will hate the contents of his work. I bet jordan11 and others will foam at the mouth and try to call the FACTS dug up about their hero lies.

Personally, I wish Obama WERE a socialist... but his solutions, like his health care solution, are firmly in support of existing free-enterprise entities (like insurance companies). He has proposed little to cause conservatives the fear and loathing they are demonstrating on these boards and in the mainstream media. (P.S. The RIGHT wing in Europe are closer to our Democrats and are socialist).

Obama talks about education. He cannot point to a single vote that made or would make education better. All his votes on education would make or keep education bad. Example: Illinois bill to give school officials more leeway in removing trouble makers from the classroom. The teacher union slave voted against it.
All across the socio-economic spectrum, wherever Obama's rhetoric goes, his votes are sure to go--the opposite direction. -

If you will remember, Ayers and Obama appeared together on a discussion about education.
The course above is:
A little over 10 years ago, Ayers and Greene were able to get a series of books on education published. Ayers was editor and Green served on the editorial board (with Rashid Khalidi -- a supporter of the Palestinian cause, the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia University.
Khalidi also has ties with Barack Obama that have been widely reported when journalists cover Obama's extensive support for the Palestinians, most recently in the Los Angeles Times "Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama").
How should teachers teach science, for example? According to one of the books, Ayers and Greene approved for publishing.

Science did used to be more pure, even when funded by the government, but it's not the teaching that changed things, it was science professors realizing there was money to be made (if not for their own pockets, then for their research activities), by getting sponsorship from private companiesand by forming private companies. The only problem in this is that the change in focus may have derailed some discoveries.

Libertarianism was Standard Operating Procedure in the Industrial Revolution and in Scrooge's day (and continues, today, in many of the developing economies). Socialism was the new idea of the beginning of the last century in response to it. It was not until after WW2 that such things as socialized medicine were implemented in Europe, and Medicare implemented in the USA.

If you have read my posts I have been warning about the Socialistic ideas Obama and his followers espouse. With the country in dire straights,the last thing the USA can handle are the additional Socialistic debt he is proposing.Some people just refuse to learn and therefore make the same mistakes over and over. This no time for amateurs nor on the job training. For you still playing the blame game or fighting the party wars, you are the same type of idiots as Nero, fiddling while Rome burned. The crash has been artificially held off for over forty years. The Great Bear is now loose.
