Comments for Propeller Week In Review: October 10, 2008 »
Posted By JamesMarcus 1 year, 1 month ago in NewsThe battle royale between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin was one of the most hotly anticipated events of the campaign--and the Propeller community had plenty to say about it. But there were also lively conversations about the fiscal meltdown, Bill Gates, and the covert (not to mention overt) racism.

I'm barely hanging in there with this darn election! One of the most important that I can remember in my lifetime. But in most of the world that I know they get it over and done with in a month or so - and that since before the advent of TV, let alone the internet..
Reply
If I was a candidate I'd need 6 months to recover and whoever wins is going to have to jump right in and deal with the biggest world financial crisis in living memory without even a break to work on it!
Is this nuts or what?
Oh and today one of the big stories on propeller was about whether a pic on the cover if Newsweek showed some facial hair on the female VP candidate..
Sigh..Call me exhausted in Europe.
Thanks for your ability to stay with it James!-

When you think about it, what better way to choose a future President then to essentially slowly torture him/her mentally while exhausting him/her physically, then see how they react under the stress? It does tell you a certain something about them.

Yes, our election cycle is ghastly--a marathon that exhausts both the candidates and the public, even as it flushes several hundred million dollars down the toilet. We should have a four-month election process, with compulsory public financing for all candidates who make it through the primaries. Oh, and can we dump the electoral college while we're at it? :)

I like the electoral college, it just needs a tweak. Perhaps doing it like Nebraska and Maine allocate the votes; by congressional district with the winner of the popular vote picking up an extra two. Otherwise I fear all the advertising would go to attempting to pick up cities and completely ignore areas with a low population density.

If you call now, I'll throw in a second nickel at no extra charge! That's like getting an authentic specimen of U.S. currency--think of it as a commemorative "purchase medallion," with an engraved likeness of Thomas Jefferson, the "Sage of Monticello"--for nothing!

Thanks a bunch guys! But I already have a nickel. It is what's left of my paycheck after buying a tank of gas and some groceries. Seriously though, you might get more takers if you can get the shipping and handling down around two bucks.

First, the pit bull needs to be chained up in the junk yard and muzzled.

Second, John McCain voted consistenly not to allow Martin Luther King Jr. day as a holiday.
John McCain defended South Carolina for flying a confederate flag over their capitol.
John McCain appointed a racist pit bull who can't tell the truth as his running mate.
The media shouldn't be focussing on Obama's acquaintance with Ayers, but McCain's ties to Hitler (yes they were both alive at the same time) and with the KKK. -

If you are the nosy kind that reads people's bios, you know that JamesMarcus translates from other languages.

I demand to see our comments translated into Italian !
It will add a sophistication, a 'je ne sais quoi' to the discussions of Palin's facial hair and Obama's trashy plane;
- and Propeller could use a little sophistication.-

Sarah Palin was in no way capable of doing the job. Great guster shown by our nation. God bless America.
