She'll be getting a check for that last kid she had also. Trigg, huh? That's one math class he won't have to worry about taking.

I fail to see anything too sinister in Sarah Palin's charging the government for these trips. There may be missing information. Did she go to church in conjunction with a legitimate business trip? Meeting Franklin Graham and other religious people of his standing may be very beneficial for Alaska. Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse and other Christian ministries do great work with disadvantaged people. Would you object if she was meeting with Jesse Jackson? How about the Reverend Al Sharpton? They are Christian leaders and I am sure that the govenment officials who meet with them charge the taxpayers for their expenses.

As far as I can tell, Sarah Palin's relationships are above board. She does not seem to spend a lot of time with the likes of Tony Rezko, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, or William Ayers.

AcidTongue2X4-46, I think you are really insensitive considering the fact that Trigg has Downs Syndrome. He is not likely to be taking trigonometry. From the content of your post, I would deduce that you are not exactly the caliber of Einstein yourself.

First of all, considering her political stands and her fiery, racist rhetoric about Obama, it would be almost impossible for her to want to meet w/ Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

Secondly, if Obama travelled at taxpayer's expense to see Jackson and Sharpton, would you object?

          Sinophil49:
Don't you know the difference between a governor (who travels at taxpayer expense) and a candidate? Exactly WHEN was Obama the governor of Illinois?

To answer your question, if Obama visits Sharpton, he will continue to receive Secret Service protection, which for all candidates and their wives, cost taxpayers $106.6 million, according to Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan.

Barack Obama is not a governor, true. He is a senator for the state of Illinois, and senators also travel at taxpayers' expense.

            So, answer the question, already.

I think Palin was insensitive naming him that.

'trig' is also an adjective, meaning clever and precise

Like nicknaming a 'weight-challenged' person 'tiny' or 'slim'

          cool name tho

Alaska is made up of a good number of people of Norwegian heritage. The name "Trigg" is Norwegian and means "true". So, what is insensitve about "true"?

they have these handy things called dictionaries...I'm not surprised Palin was unaware of the meaning on her son's name-IN ENGLISH-the language she speaks

would you find naming a kid born without a right hand [like the famous pitcher Jim Abbott] 'Handy' ironic and clever, or just cruel and in bad taste?

It's not the kids fault he's not trig

              still a cool name tho

*everything you never wanted to know about the name 'Trigg'

This abuse of public funds is right in line with Palin's extremist anti-americanism.

Sarah Palin used AK tax dollars to fund dominionist churches

Over the past few days, I've done reporting on Sarah Palin's extensive dominionist connections--including the attempt to run her as a "stealth" dominionist candidate and her connections to some scary dominionist groups including not just "Joel's Army" folks but a far-right Christian Reconstructionist political party linked to domestic terrorism.

Palin's Churches and the Third Wave

Sarah Palin's churches are actively involved in a resurgent movement that was declared heretical by the Assemblies of God in 1949. This is the same 'Spiritual Warfare' movement that was featured in the award winning movie, "Jesus Camp," which showed young children being trained to do battle for the Lord. At least three of four of Palin's churches are involved with major organizations and leaders of this movement, which is training a young "Joel's Army" to take dominion over the United States and the world.

And, it is right in line with Palin's repetitive corruption.

              Palin's Crony Capitalism

People should stop picking on vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin because she hired a high school classmate to oversee the state agriculture division, a woman who said she was qualified for the job because she liked cows when she was a kid. And they should lay off the governor for choosing another childhood friend to oversee a failing state-run dairy, allowing the Soviet-style business to ding taxpayers for $800,000 in additional losses.

What these critics don’t understand is that crony capitalism is how things are done in Alaska. They reward failure in the Last Frontier state. In that sense, it’s not unlike like Wall Street’s treatment of C.E.O.’s who run companies into the ground.
