Comments for Palin booed at NHL game in Philadelphia »
Posted By ameliog 1 year, 1 month ago in SportsAlthough many Philadelphia Flyers fans cheered and clapped as Sarah Palin took to the ice at the Wachovia Center on Saturday night to drop the ceremonial puck kicking off this town's NHL season, their warm reception was no match for the 90 seconds of sustained booing that rumbled through the arena, drowning out most of the cheers in support of the Republican vice presidential nominee.

The city of Philadelphia is strongly Dem; the suburbs and outstsate are more mixed. Demographics of the crowd could be a factor.

Also, in all professional sports, Philly fans are notorious for being "boo birds". They have been known to boo the Easter Bunny. -

The old green eyed monster tends to do things like that. It is a Democratic stronghold, and the Dem's Broad lost. So it could be jealousy . LOL

For those fighting the party wars.
Party is the madness of many for the gain of a few.-Alexander Pope
If your 20 and not a Liberal, You have no Heart. If you are 40 and not a Conservative, You have no Brain--Sir Winston Churchhill
This is supposed to be an election for president not PR rock star. You are hiring the CEO of Firm USA. Who do you want to run the firm, a manager with over 25 years experience or the newly hired stockboy?
If you complain about Palin's experience to be VP candidate where does that leave Obama? She has more real experience than he has. Or is Obama really running as Biden's VP?-

Sorry, you are wrong about the Churchill quote.
Reply
Winston Churchill never made such a quote. If you google it you will notice that he was misattributed with saying that. And besides even if he had, conservative politically speaking and based on policy versus 'conservative' found in America are two separate things. Fiscally speaking, the modern day conservatives are economic disasters and not 'fiscally conservative' at all. They are also heavily influenced by the ridiculously powerful religious lunatics vote... so American conservatives now are more of a special case and should be called Religious Conservatism.

Ok, maybe it's just me but despite the fact that I might not want to see Palin in office anytime soon, I still feel sorry for the woman. She seems to be a sweet lady, I'd like to see anyone deal with as much as she has to on a daily basis ... but hey I'd be the first to agree TINA FAYE is HILARIOUS!!

McCain/Palin talk about how they will 'reach across the aisle' and unite the country. Their rhetoric is purely divisive and dishonest.
Reply
All you have to do is listen to the logical inconsistencies in their statements to see they will tell any lie necessary to get elected.
"We will reach across the aisle" but we "are mavericks who will fight anyone"....so they will create peace by fighting?
McCain was asked in the last debate about ways to stimulate peace in the world...his top of mind response was how americans fight, kill and die to preserve peace...lol.
He's said he will cut taxes and rebuild our broken down infrastructure...lol
In the same speech they say a multitude of logically incompatible marketing taglines and soundbites written up for them by the RNC marketers.
You just have to watch and listen to see what divisive liars they are.
