As disturbing as this is, i found it pretty funny that the racist redneck who did this used a "Dastar", which is what Sikhs wear. And has nothing to do with Arabs or Muslims....
Reply
Just goes to show how uneducated Racists truly are. Reminds me of that guy in Florida with the sign that read "Obama is a half-breed Muslin" The local news interviewed the guy, and he had no clue that Muslin is a fabric, and Muslim is the religion...-

In case it doesn't work, it's a photo of a group of Obama supporters at the Philly Park Hyatt Hotel wearing "Sarah Palin is a C**t" t-shirts. No asterisk on the original.
I would think that that would qualify as sexism, no?-

Why acknowledge Palin? I would simply rather ignore her as a minor political figure. She is a pop figure more than a politician. Like all fads her 15 minutes are going by fast.
Reply
There are clearly fringes on both sides but I would suggest to you that if Obama ever used such language (which he won't) the majority of his supporters would walk out of the hall or arena where he was speaking. Obama made himself clear on this issue long ago. And funny that I have never even heard of 2 of the 3 sites you mention. Never been to Daily Kos and watch Morning Joe on MSNBC every morning where condemning Sarah appears to be off limits. Meeka Bryzinski, their resident liberal, wont say anything bad about Sarah. In the evenings you can watch Fox or MSNBC depending on your party affiliation and agree or disagree with nothing or everything they say, both show bias.
By the way your link isn't working! If what you describe is true it is truly a classless act. And again nothing Obama would approve of... be that on or off the record. I don't like Palin but that is because she is creationist/ Bible Beater something GW once claimed to be. Only Palin is the real deal. Someone who would see no possible harm in an American Christian theocracy. I don't want anyone of that ilk near the reins of power, certainly not appointing SC justices. -

Right wing groups have had tee shirts that showed the same thing but had Hillary's picture on the shirt instead of Palin so there are radicals on both sides of the fence. Does not excuse their actions but Obama has run a clean campaign while McCain is inciting fear into his base with character assassinations that Republicans are noted for..

What is his real self? He's a Muslim, he's a terrorist. he's a Arab. People hate what they fear. Racist can not get beyond the pigmentation of his skin. You can disagree with Obama on policy, without calling him something he is not. Thats if you only disagree with his policies instead of his race.

Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. Racism knows no color. There are White racist,Black racist,Brown racist, ECT. To some it is a hatred, to some it is distrust, and to others it is a tool of deceit. The last thing the USA needs at this time is an Amateur. There is no time for on the job training. More Socialist debt is definitely not what we need. Research what and who you vote for, check your resources, do not buy into the hype, think and reason for yourself. Being what one "guppy" called an old f*rt, I have already survived this type situation, and really shiver at the thought of having to go through it again. Therefore the inexperience definitely concerns me. The Socialist leaning is a big red flag. His record shows nothing to recommend him. Pretty words and rhetoric may soothe the soul but do nothing to solve problems.

We have socialized air traffic control and national parks. We have socialized banking (as of today). We have socialized radio/tv spectrum… The list goes on and on.

The point where you lose rationality is when you claim the Repubs are going to let you you spend your own money. The tax break you will not get from them(unless you make more than $100,000 as an individual or 250k as a family) will instead go to corporations making billions in profits and wealthy individuals. The FACT is that trickle down economics is a scam on the proletariat. The very same scam as perpetrated by "preachers" like Paula White and Creflo Dollar. Give me your money and you will be rewarded multiple times over. It's a farce! The only one getting rich is the one collecting the money. Then the human equation with the key denominator of GREED kicks in. Your odds of a substantial return are much better buying a Powerball ticket.
Reply
And the reason you will not get your full benefit is that the SS Surplus was raped for decades by both parties to pay for off-budget items (see i.e. Vietnam War). There is nothing inherently wrong with that entitlement that occured for any other reason than theft. You will likely need Medicare. You gripe about it now but someday you will need this. Let's have no services, no taxes, and see how long this country survives. -

Because of small government and lack of oversight we're paying for one of the biggest socialized bail outs in history. Not to mention the nearly trillion dumped into Iraq. Republicans like to privatize profit and socialize loss. I think you need to do a little research yourself. America had a higher standard of living before the supply siders took over. We only managed to keep pace because women entered the work force in greater numbers. Meanwhile the top 10% got a three fold increase. Maybe you don't mind serfdom but the rest of us are angry and ready for a change. Republicans are on their way out.

Republican leaders break ranks with McCain
Senior members of the Republican party are in open mutiny against John McCain's presidential campaign, after a disastrous period which has seen Barack Obama solidify his lead in the opinion polls.
...From inside and outside his inner circle, Mr McCain is being told to settle on a coherent economic message and to tone down attacks on his rival which have sometimes whipped up a mob-like atmosphere at Republican rallies.
Two former rivals for the party nomination, Mitt Romney and Tommy Thompson, went on the record over the weekend about the disarray in the Republican camp. And a string of other senior party figures said Mr McCain's erratic performance risks taking the party down to heavy losses not just in the presidential race but also in contests for Congressional seats....
Some Republicans seeking election to Congress have begun distancing themselves from Mr McCain. In Nebraska, a Republican representative, Lee Terry, ran a newspaper ad featuring support from a woman who called herself an "Obama-Terry voter". ....

The same people who see nothing wrong with this sign are the same ones who keep imploring McCain to 'take the gloves off'. You can see McCain wince at those words at one of his rallies because he knows that's code for 'let's start playing dirty because we are falling behind in the polls'. Palin has evidently said to McCain...that's all right John, give me that mud bucket, I know what to do with it.

Hope you haven't missed Limbaugh continually referring to Obama as a "skinny, little, man-child"! Of course that is just neo-redneck code for calling him BOY. Racism at its least discrete. But those like Limbaugh don't care. They don't care about what is good for the nation instead their aim is to further enrich themselves. Hatred sells and they know it. When Limbaugh tells his listeners Obama will raise their taxes does he really believe that is the truth? Does he really believe the majority of his listeners earn over $100,000 a year? Of course he is worried about his own evergrowing pile of cash. What exactly does one individual do with more than 20 million a year? His salary is as obscene as anyone on Wall Street. And he actually does less work than a hedge fund manager.

The Repubs really showed their true colors when McCain asked they show respect to his opponent. They bleated like the proles during the Ten Minute Hate which has become a 24 hour event to many. Mccain is not Big Brother, he doesn't want to be. But his supporters are looking for that person and oddly they have settled on a bespectacled, creationist, mother of five. Even stranger is that she could fit the bill.-

Yes, "the proles" is short for the proletariat. If you haven't read "1984" it is a must read. You can see the symptoms in our society. The sly pruning of the 4th Amendment last year with the tossing of the FISA provisions on wiretapping. The hatred and senseless bleating you saw at that McCain rally the other day. The lies we have continually been told about Iraq. The power of a Vice President who truly could care less about the views of the people. Only surprising we don't have a literal Ministry of Truth.

Orwell was far too prophetic. Maybe a little off on the date (yet Reagan WAS in power during that year). He knew that the fascist forces would win out. He tried to warn us. But as we saw in '00 and '04 we refused to listen. This is the tipping point. We have a chance to slip the trap. But I still don't like the odds against Obama. It will take a literal miracle for him to win. He is already running with a 10+/- handicap just because of the color of his skin.

Intent to incite action (like yelling fire in a crowded theater) is not protected. Intent to incite opinion (even hatred) is protected. What was that movie with Jodie Foster and Kelly McGillis? Onlookers to a rape were prosecuted for inciting the actors to rape (it was a true story).

Still, though, I still believe he's a Muslim...not that there is anything WRONG with that...unless he sees "no compulsion in religion" abrogated by Quran 9:1-5 and 9:29...which I don't think he does. They'll realize that opposition to Obama WASN'T because the person opposed to him was some racist, but, because he, or, she, could see the danger he posed to freedom.

So calling people who don't have a problem with it, "rednecks" isn't being racist or inciting hate ?
That's funny.....
Personally, if you aren't proud of your name, why did he change it ? I'm sure McCain or Palin would not care if anyone would say they're middle name...Why would Barack Apollo Obama care ? Is he not proud of his muslim name ?
What are you lame liberals afraid of ? The Truth ? I mean, isn't Hussein his middle name ?
Give me a break....If someone isn't going to vote for King Zeus because of his middle name, so be it...But there are people like you who will vote for him because regardless of his radical background, his associations with ACORN and perhaps voter fraud, regardless of Louis Farrankhan endorsing him and referring to him as the "Messiah", you're still going to vote for this clown....
So, I really don't see the relevance of this story....Regardless of his middle name or Muslim background, you're still going to vote for him...So, what are you afraid of ? That this is somehow going to cause people NOT to vote for your "Messiah"? Give me break....
The same demented bunch of people that are voting for Barack are the same ones that will never believe the truth about him...
I could tell you libs that he believes in killing babies before they're born and agreeing that he doesn't want to punish anyone for making a mistake....But you'd still vote for him....
I'm sorry I don't think of a baby as a "mistake" like you guys do, but you do what's right and vote for this Marxist....Believe me there are many other things I detest about Barack, but his middle name and race ain't one of them....But YOU guys want to make it a race issue whenever anyone disagrees with Barack....LMAO !!
Ooops...I said "ain't"
I must be a redneck..... -

"Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed by inserting "Jesus Christ," so that it would read "A departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;" the insertion was rejected by the great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mohammedan, the Hindoo and Infidel of every denomination."
It really wouldn't matter to Jefferson if Obama were a Muslim. Why should it matter to you? You folks have lost all meaning as to what the definition of "an American" truly is.-

Of course you don't....You're a kool-aid drinkin' Obama supporter....
And btw, it's guilt by alliance, not association.....He gave 832 million to ACORN to help with Voter Registration....plus Ayers gave plenty of money to Obama to hand out to certain schools up in Illinois to help radicalize more children and spread Ayers radical messages....
So stop with the "guilt by association" Al Franken sound bites.....Find a new one....That one is NOT workin' for you libs anymore....-

What's the big deal with ACORN? The local election boards are responsible for verifying all new registrations. So what if OBama paid them for new registrations--I don't even know if he did pay them-- but so what if he did? They register both parties.
Reply
The implication is that the local election boards won't do their jobs and verify their registrations. Is that what you are saying?
I'm hoping that the election boards DO do their jobs and eliminate false registrations as well as caging lists that are fraudulent.
PS. I don't like Kool Aid. And I voted for Reagan and Poppy Bush.-

One guy was offered cigarettes to register and vote 72 times...ACORN has also been accused of registering 7 - year olds to vote !

From what I've found, it requires a permit to erect a billboard. If no permit was given, why is it still there? For that matter, why is no one out there with a chain saw? And once again, I thank the gods I don't have live among people that would tolerate that sign.

The turban doesn't help the billboard. Also the quotes around Hussein show an emphasis on the middle name, clearly trying to link him to Saddam Hussein and others in the region. Its playing on people's fear with no actual credibility and suggests all Muslims are terrorists. Its a totally inappropriate sign.

Number One: Am I the only one who is tire of all this hatred toward muslims. Not all of them are bad, actually not even half.Number Two: No I am not a "mooslim" but I'm not christian either. All of you on your high horse are the reason that I'm not. Number 3: Does it matter that his father was muslim or his stepfather or any of that. I grew up catholic, all my family is catholic, I went to a catholic school, I have catholic friends. I am not catholic. Number 4: As far as Acorn goes. Oh my god. A polititian saying he will actually meet with people and address their concerns..GASP!! Wake up. Read about acorn and then step in to the clarity of not being ignorant. Number 5: Obama is half white" which shouldn't even freakin matter" Half his family is white. ooooo. I'm sure you "good god fearin," not judging embracing people will "get em" before he makes anything better for the colored people of America. You can have your pedestal for a little while longer. Don't worry. Who needs Mooslims when you have hate like this right at home. And Lastly: Have any of you really looked at McSame's record. Please let's not dredge up who Obama is associated with, Because you don't want people going down McCain's 40 year rabbit hole. I've got a couple friends that aren't the most socially acceptable people. I like them. Doesn't mean I am them. Don't even get me started with Palin. What a dope. What about "Puck You Palin" from the Phillie crowd? Or a cartoon with a rifle held to her head? Or the ad Obama ran ridiculing McCain for not using a computer and that he was too old, even Biden said that was awful. Do your views against racism extend to sexism and ageism? Or are you one-sided as usual?

and a lot of white people are voting for McCain because he is white, but there are many blacks voting for McCain and many more whites voting for Obama. So whats really wrong ? Whats wrong is the media , television mostly, taking tidbits and making 24 hour long glory stories, non stop repetition . Then people who watch much of the repetitive nonsense and making decisions from it instead of doing proper research on the candidates. Many on both sides are voting on the race card, many are voting for their parties, but too many are voting with little if any knowledge of either candidate, they are influenced by too many lies, and exaggerated stories from both sides . Many, many voters are too easily misled or just can't be bothered to learn the real facts, they listen to fabricated facts and the rest is history... . -

Do you folks honestly believe the people at McCain's meeting the other night weren't plants put out there to do what exactly McCain's party wanted them to do. I can't believe how easy it is to fool the American public. Sorry yes I can, I just have to turn on one of those TV stations with evangelistic healers doing their stuff, seeing the crowds of people watching and paying for that nonsense, so I can see how thousands of Americans can be easily fooled. McCain fooled everyone that night and he was on the news for the next 2 days because of it.John showing the easily fooled how nice and considerate he is. Wink Wink !

* We, the American people don't want John McCain & Sarah Palin make a "3rd term failed & disastrous Bush Government"!
Reply
ABOUT MS. SARAH PALIN, (the Republican Vice-Presidential Candidate)
* WE, AMERICAN PEOPLE WONDER HOW CAN A PERSON WHO CAN NOT LEAD OWN CHILD IN RIGHTEOUS & MORAL WAYS CAN LEAD OUR COUNTRY AND US, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IN THE RIGHT WAYS. THE REPUBLICAN VICE PRESIDENT CANDIDATE, MS. SARAH PALIN'S 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IS PREGNANT WITHOUT GETTING MARRIED. MS. SARAH PALIN FAILED HER MORAL AND PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS HER DAUGHTER AND GOD AND MANY OTHERS. IN THE BIBLE, 1 THIMOTHY 3:5 SAYS: "IF A PERSON DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RULE OWN HOUSE, HOW CAN THAT PERSON TAKE CARE OF OTHERS"
* Ms. Sarah Palin should teach her daughter that Fornication and/or Adultery is a sin. Doing sex under age 18 is a crime under United States Law before becoming the Vice President of our great, gracious, religious, Christian nation i.e. United States of America .
* How can anyone who failed the above serious responsibility, can be responsible & qualified to be a Vice President. When President Clinton had an improper relationship, the REPUBLICANS made him undergo wasting toooooooooooo much American people's tax money and time.....I hope we all remember that. He was tried to be impeached just for improper relationship - not for fornication or adultery.
* Hey America wake up and get real.
About Mr. John McCain (the Republican Presidential Candidate)
* John McCain is a great war hero of unnecessary & failed Vietnam War. So he deserve a monument in Washington as a war hero, but he can not make himself a good president with wisdom & proper judgments. Because he has no qualifications to become the American president. He will draw our country to unnecessary war/wars with other country/countries as President, Bush did. See what happened in the case of Iraq war. Mr. McCain voted for the Iraq war, when Obama (the Democratic Presidential Candidate) voted against the Iraq war.
* Now almost numerous Millions (1,000,000s) of the American people think that Iraq war was a big mistake.
* There was no weapons of mass distruction as President, Bush claimed.
* Saddam Hussein, the Iraq president was hanged to death for killing 65 Iraqi people.-

Are you a muslim? Let me explain how it works. A President can only run two terms in the USA. George Bush cannot run again. He has had his two terms. A new person by the name of John Sidney McCain is running for President, not George Bush. You see, a socialist, liberal democrat has trouble understanding that George Bush cannot run again. When one of these liberal morons tell you that George Bush is running for a third term, consider the source and just ignore him because they are not smart enough to understand this. They are voting for their Obamasiah. A lot of them think he is Jesus Christ. They are about as smart as a moonie.

As a result of this unnecessary IRAQ war:
Reply
* (1) To conduct this war, Our President Bush had to sacrifice more than 4000 American sons & daughters and/or husbands & wives and/or fathers & mothers and/or brothers & sisters.who were in our most beloved troops.
* (2) To conduct this war, numerous 100,000s of Americans & Iraqis got injured and/lost their beloved lives.
* (3) Numerous 100,000s of Iraqi people became injured, homeless and refugees in other countries as they became homeless, without clothes & food.
* (4) Numerous Billions (numerous thousands of Millions) of American Tax money was wasted for the above Iraq war leaving numerous old American people leaving hungry & without enough to live on.
* (5) There was not at all or very small number of Al Quida in Iraq before the war. Now Iraq became the training grounds for Al Quida.
* At the Republican convention, Mr. Juliani, former New York Mayor told Mr. OBAMA to ask advice from Mr. McCain about foreign policy. Our President, Bush asked the advice to MR. McCAIN about Iraq war. Mr. McCain authorized President Bush to go forward with Iraq war, causing the above sad results. At the same time Mr. Obama advised President Bush not to go for the Iraq war.
* PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL USE WISDOM & RIGHT DECISIONS ALWAYS, WHEN OUR COUNTRY & WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE NEED THEM.
* So we will & must vote for Mr. OBAMA & BIDEN AS PRESIDENT & V. P.
=========================
STOP THE REPUBLICAN ***LIBERAL DEREGULATORS***AND SAVE OUR ECONOMY, BANKS, WALL STREET, AMERICAN PEOPLE’S (OUR) PRECIOUS TAX DOLLARS, AMERICAN SONS & DAUGHTER FROM UNNECESSARY WARS

Technically no. Barack was not in the Senate at the time. Here's what McCain voted for.
SEC. 3. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES.
(a) AUTHORIZATION. The President is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in order to
(1) defend the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq; and
(2) enforce all relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions regarding Iraq.
(b) PRESIDENTIAL DETERMINATION.
In connection with the exercise of the authority granted in subsection (a) to use force the President shall, prior to such exercise or as soon there after as may be feasible, but no later than 48 hours after exercising such authority, make available to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate his determination that
(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic or other peaceful means alone either (A) will not adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq or (B) is not likely to lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq, and
(2) acting pursuant to this resolution is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorists attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.
1. There was no threat coming from Iraq. 2. There were UN resolutions that the USA voted for that enabled weapons inspectors a chance to clear Saddam of the WMD charge.
President Bush violated this law. Congress should have impeached him and removed him from office and then tried him and Cheney for crime against humanity. All congressmen and women who didn't call for his impeachment after he thumbed his nose at them once again should resign in disgrace.

FYI since you intend to make this a personal attack on my patriotism and contribution to society, here goes. I had a cousin who died in Vietnam, my father was at the Bulge in WWII
and my grandfather was gassed and lost a lung in WWI. My great great grandfather fought for the Union in the Civil War.
So you, too, have the right to call people who don't agree with you racists and un-american thanks to my family.
My contribution to America? I have two college degrees and work in the health care profession, a job that can be both thankless and rewarding.

It's interesting that the Republican party has controlled Congress in 9 out of the last 11 years and, with this administration, has given us endless war, the worst economy in 80 years, a more divisive nation than most people have ever seen, corruption, hatred, racism, plunging international standing, hyprocrisy, and the steady erosion of traditional American Constitutional values. We need a change alright, but it is not the latter day change artists of the tired GOP. The world is changing whether the reactionaries like it or not. We either lead, follow or get out of the way.

Interesting: both the left and the right find the prospect of the opposing candidate's election terrifying, no less. Not just undesirable: intolerable.
Reply
But the right has demonized Obama in a way that the left hasn't done with McCain. I'd say this is because O., who is more moderate in his political stance than otherwise, is construed as the Other:
He's black (actually half-black, but this is America where one is entirely black if one is black at all);
he's something of an intellectual, which of course means "he thinks he's better than me";
he comes from the left, which means he's a socialist and/or communist, which is dangerous, even as our country implodes due to capitalistic abuse and malfeasance.
his middle name is Hussein, which means he's Muslim, which means he's a terrorist and/or "pals around" with same;
he's...well, you know...different, not like me:
the Other. -
